Just so you know the shiny-ness on your wheel and seats (really anything leather) means that it is dirty and needs to be cleaned. Clean leather has a nice matt finish. The back of the wheel really looks like it is just a massive dirt build up and can be scrubbed away. Love these vids

One of the biggest things missed with cleaning and conditioning of the Ram Limited is that it is saddle leather. You need to use boot oil for all of the leather in that truck, doors, dash, grab bars, seats and the steering wheel. I have found using Apache Cream has kept my limited's interior looking brand-new for the last 9 years. The dash more than likely needs a lot of leather oiling to get the leather to relaxe.

Mr Wheeler - That heavy dirt protects the leather underneath. Can't complain after 225,000 miles.

Take it to get cleaned, they can steam clean it and the professionals have other things they can use. I had my wife's Volvo done inside and out ceramic wax and everything for 300 bucks, and it looks better than it did when we bought it new in 2019. The Volvo had like a weird interior not just leather. So i had them do a deep clean. I was nervous about messing up her interior. It just an option and I think they could probably square you away. As always great video brother.

Hysterical! I can see that the 3 and 9 positions may have wear from your hand wearing, but the backside near the buttons really looks like caked dirt! Perhaps a Q-tip in a bit of non abrasive cleaner to test it out? Either way the truck is awesome and your detailed videos are amazing. You are the reason I bought a 2023 Ram 1500 Limited. I was waiting for the Hurricane, but it was delayed another year and the Hemi is just proven. Prices dropped, I got the right truck at the right deal. Thank you, and always looking forward to your next video!

I use Turtle wax leather cleaner. Makes it look brand new. The acid from our sweaty hands effects the PH balance of the leather and it attracts dirt and grime real easy. I clean mine every few months. I am a carpenter so dirty hands is the name of the game. I look forward to all your videos.

Definitely clean it. The build up on the back of the wheel should come off. Also, from the factory, it isn't nice and shiny. It should be a little duller looking as the quality leather they use on the Limited should be a softer leather. The constant contact from your hands is transferring oils to the leather, and literally polishing it, giving it the shine. I saw someone else make this suggestion, but I'd use a good leather cleaner that is pH balanced for leather and a toothbrush (soft) for the hard to get to areas and areas with higher buildup.

Wont hurt to do the clean test first,then....if she wont polish up and still doesn't quite pass your preference, plan for a wheel replacement video at your discretion 👍 either way great job keeping it real! im only at 159,000 kms in my 4 yrs but i love my truck to the end 💪 i gonna guess your probably the only person with that amount of milage on a 19 limited 😉

Leather cleaner/conditioner and an old sock. You can clean and condition the leather at the same time. I wouldn't recommend soap and water for leather. Go to a saddle shop. It will be a thick conditioner not watery. You'll want something that won't change the color. Good luck!

I’ve detained COUNTLESS vehicles and restored more steering wheels than I can count. Buy a magic eraser, soak it in water, squeeze it out and rub it on the steering wheel with some elbow grease. Then use a dry one to follow up. Wipe it afterwards with a dry rag. I guarantee you that is just a dirty steering wheel and this trick will make it look new again. If it doesn’t, I will personally buy you a new steering wheel. Keep me posted! I’ve loved all my Rams. I’ve had 3 since 2020. Currently in a 2023 Ram TRX. Best trucks around!

Its wear, the fourth gen rams have the exact same problem, the steering wheel leather is not tough enough. My neighbor has a 2010 ram cummins with over 800k kms on it, and the steering wheel leather is completely gone where his hands usually sit.

Coming from someone who just bought a 275k mile lexus gx. Looks exactly like the dirt I scrubbed away 😂 note, some spots I cleaned there was worn and smoothed leather. Mine seems worn more where the leather transitions into wood like yours

The leather is actually basically painted. The shiny black in the actual Leather and you have worn that off and the dull Leather is raw leather. My 2012 actually had holes wear thru

My wheel had wear from light use in 2 years and 30k miles. It's not dirt on mine, I've tried cleaning it. Never had a wheel wear that fast, have a 30+ year old Nissan in the garage with a leather wheel in better shape. Super annoying.

Take a soft toothbrush and hit the backside by the buttons. Pretty sure it is dirt. Had an accord that I thought was worn like that and yeah, it was grime. Super gross because that was the previous owners slime lol. Just give it a shot with a little dish soap.

i'd suggest budget for a new wheel, get that idea in your head that you have to replace it. Then try to scrub it clean the best you can knowing you set aside the money for a new wheel and if you mess up it's no big deal. Then if cleaning doesnt work, try sanding it and applying a leather type varnish to it. Hopefully one of those fixes your problem and you get to save yourself what i can imagine to be around 800 bucks for a new wheel. If that doesn't work, I suppose get you a new fancy steering wheel! Hopefully that takes some stress out of cleaning/repairing it. Keep up the awesome videos, man!

2019 Ram 1500 BH LS, anyone have issues with the parking assist working intermittently? Took to the dealer, still doesn't work. They replaced the module. Drove it off their lot. It worked. Got home, went back out...."temporarily unavailable" for 2 days. It came back from the dead, but isn't working again! Any insight would be greatly appreciated!!!! All sensors are clean

Insane that a high tech full of electronics that has high mileage like your truck is pretty impressive. Toyotas last long because theyre old school and tech is old school the new toyotas show that being modern comes with consequences and ruins reliability
