Kudos to TD, dedicated to cycling again and it takes two to tango so JOIN is an awesome and very functional partner. Let's see if TD can stick to his revival= with JOIN
Leuke serie! (tikkeltje ontmoedigend is het wel haha ;-) )
Doing JOIN now since a month and have to admit, really like it! Was Pro in the 90s and heavily injured. Could hardly walk for 2y, took me 18y to ride again. Since 2y riding again 4-6x a week and planning to participate at some races this year to have fun again. JOIN really helps me to get training dialled being time crunched single dad. Thanks guys to support normal guys training with such adaptive Programm! Much appreciated. Cheers
The comment by Jim at 40:58 califying a goal as silly was unfortunate. Many people have as a goal being fit and healthy all year round and race weekly just as an incentive without serious aspirations of winning anything. That is as respectable as trying to be in your best shape for a specific date of the year. Would you be on a diet to achieve your best body composition for a given event as bodybuilders do?. Don't forget that the motivation of the vast majority of your potential customers is long term health. Competition is a secondary goal for most of us. Please, don't judge, just advise.
Hi Jose, Thank you for your comment and for watching the Q&A. I appreciate the opportunity to clarify and provide more context. During the conversation, we addressed a question about how a user can set a goal to race every week (Thursdays). Jim’s response that “being at your best every week is a silly goal” might have come across as blunt, but the intent was to highlight the unrealistic nature of maintaining peak performance week after week while following a structured training program. At JOIN, our primary goal is to help our users achieve long-term health and sustainable fitness improvements. We recognize that our users have diverse goals, from racing to maintaining overall fitness, and we aim to provide the best possible advice tailored to those goals. In this context, Jim’s recommendation was based on the principle that continuous peak performance is not feasible or healthy in the long term. We generally suggest that users skip a race every other week to focus on building their fitness. This way, they can balance their training with recovery, ultimately leading to better performance and overall health. We understand that racing frequently is exciting and motivating, but it is equally important to allow the body time to adapt and improve. I apologize if our previous response seemed dismissive or caused any offense. Our intention is always to support our users with advice that promotes long-term health and effective training. We value your feedback and are here to help you make the most of your training with JOIN. If you have any further questions or need personalized advice, please feel free to reach out. We are committed to helping you achieve your goals in the healthiest and most sustainable way possible. Kind regards, Rohan
That's life.
Looking forward to the results, reaching your best of the past 10-15 years at ehhh not-to-young of an age will be a true challenge. But hopefully doable and then not break your saddle during the race!
Hey @daan372, thanks for your question. It's a great addition after your ride and for your rest-days. In any case, remember that you always want to listen to your body and do what feels best for you.
