Nautilus73 keybed is cheap-feeling, _especially_ relative to its price (and probably equally cheap to produce). Its action doesn't have enough action. But Kronos 73 keybed might have suffered from being too fidgety, too complex/complicated/troublesome (and costly). That's why Korg _might_ have decided to back up and punt, and laughingly refer to the Nautilus as its "new flagship." Plus, Nautilus has the worst by far shell in the history of keyboards. You literally have to wear thick leather gloves to tote that thing around. It could be used as a weapon if you could manage to sling it, due to its gripping edges being so sharp. Who on Earth would design such a thing? But the designers at Korg need to earn their keep (salaries) so I guess they just ignored the old adage, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it," or they would've just stuck with the 01/W keybed (and shell), which is very nice when the aging felt is replaced to tone down the clunk. But that keybed is remarkably simple and easy to work on, and _doesn't_ feel cheap. So Korg is kind of stuck in purgatory right now, scratching their heads. Not a good look. But if you can live with the Nautilus keybed (without AT) it has nice pianos (the litmus test), and in its defense, the keybed is incredibly quiet. Meanwhile, someone needs to come up with a good 73-key controller (3 octaves above and below middle C) with an 01/W keybed. The Studiologic's (Fatar's) offering in that variant is too heavy/stiff. Your fingers get a workout if they're not used to playing serious piano quite often. But if a _real_ new Korg flagship is being developed, look for it to cost an arm and a leg when it's released. So you may have some deciding and thinking to do where Korg is concerned.

Thanks Matt, helpful tip. Another question- do you (or anyone) know the BEST Global settings for midi/control sync to have the Opsix controlled by external midi hardware? I am changing my sequence presets manually on the fly and seems to get out of sync as I switch presets? I am using Isla s2400, MPC One, Machinedrum off and on as my controllers, and would also like to use Ableton Live. Thanks.

The Yamaha CS-80 clone, aka the Behringer VS-80, IF it ever reaches market will I predict be the best selling 61 key synth keyboard of all time. That is, over the course of time. The Behringer VS-80 synth will be so in demand and constantly in demand we'll find that Behringer will not be able to cope with the numbers of them that are ordered by people. Especially if as Behringer themselves recently say that, "No synth should ever be more than $1500", if indeed the Behringer VS-80 synth is under $1500 virtually anyone that is 'in to synths' will scrape the money together and get one, well, attempt to get one! The point is, the DEMAND for this piece of kit will be utterly massive. MASSIVE! Behringer could literally make that model for the next 20 years and people would still want it, on the whole because the original version currently goes for around $50,000 What a bargain that is, getting a $50,000 synth for maybe Behringer sub $1500 prices. I wonder though what the used prices of the Yamaha CS-80 would become? Initially I suspect the prices may drop, with panicking CS-80 owners selling them off. But then with all those thousands of VS-80 owners around there would become a new found respect and desire for the original item. Which of cause in these days is more of a collectors item, an investment item not much different than some pieces of art. The Yamaha CS-80 in itself is I say a visual piece of art, without doubt it LOOKS beautiful. A gorgeous piece of kit. So pleasing to the eye. And many do say pleasing to the ear as well. We hear Behringer has had a team working on the sounds of their VS-80 for two years straight. I doubt if it is never going to come to market. In fact I suspect Behringer will not tease it's imminent release as they normally do. As if they did, the demand for it would be so great that should it be the usual leaked photo's of synth products on pallets, then the usual SIX MONTHS until retailers have stock. The massive amount of potential VS-80 buyers would on the whole not buy anything else in the mean time. Most of them would save their pennies over the space of say six months, not buying ANYTHING, no Roland, Korg, Behringer, etc gear much at all. Due that is to the cost of it. The well-healed synth buyer would likely carry on buying what ever they wanted, BUT the majority of folk would likewly bide their time, not buying anything so as to have the funds to buy their Behringer VS-80. Behringer would in a way be a victim of their own success, (or rather the 'future' success of that model), with thousands of folk prior to getting hold of one just not buying anything else, not even Behringer gear. Unless Behringer slipped in a JT-16 Roland Jupiter 8 clone, and likely synth buyers would want that as well. I'm just saying, that IF we ever do see the Behringer VS-80 ever come to market, strategically it may be almost overnight. With available kit almost smuggled in to dealers, with them having to sign up to an embargo on releasing availability dates on that model. The rush and clammer to get a VS-80 would be immense. I would certainly buy one. Though I suspect after waiting years and years for it to ever come out, sadly it may take years and years to ever get one, even after it has come to market. The DEMAND will be absolutely crazy. With worthless schmucks out there who would buy them up only to want to sell them on at an increased price. That sort I do not like. There will be many of them and Behringer know that, ergo they may well initially price the thing higher than they intended to. Yea, these scalpers costing us all more money, and most of us won't even buy their opportunistic venture. As we see then it is a very complex thing for manufacturers in bringing out these synths, many varied aspects 'have' to be taken in to consideration, what product is brought out in context with other models that is intended for release. It is not easy getting things right. I SUGGEST to Behringer, LISTEN to higher reasoning, is best to bring out the Behringer PolyEight, >>then<< the Behringer JT-16 and then the Behringer VS-80. Of cause in that particular order I would buy all THREE. And be very happy enough to do so. Any other configuration may result in lesser sales. Would I want a Behringer PolyEight AFTER getting hold of a VS-80?, more than likely maybe not. So use your loaf Behringer. PolyEight, JT-16, then the mighty VS-80. I would be very happy with that. I would not regret buying those two models prior to the VS-80. IF that is the VS-80 ever does get made. The Behringer VS-80 synth will be the best selling 61 key synth of all time. Though of cause it will take some time to achieve that. But it would. They would make them and we would buy them. Even in 100 years time the Behringer VS-80 will be a much sought after synth. With of cause the mighty Yamaha CS-80 collectors item even more so.

I don't are if the Nautilus is their flagship keyboard because that's all they have, I also love and have the KRONOS 2 both in looks and power and Nautilus looks more like a toy to me, they left many things out hardware wise but the only thing that makes it better is more sound libraries out of the box.
