The first time i saw it on my naturehike tent i was like Drill Sergeatn Hartman from Full Metal Jacket... "What Is That? What the f is that?!? But thanks to this video lol
Thank you very much, i learned a lot from your video! FYI: Fjällräven tents use the same guyline clips, i believe they use Dyneema on their tents. Greetings from Denmark!
If you stir, you don't need a lid. Just keep stirring. I can understand the need to use the lid if you have it, but you'll be able to see how your eggs are doing far better without a lid.
Great idea. Nice thing would be leaving the lid behind and be one less item to carry and lose. :D Personal preference, though. My husband stirs his constantly and we eat "egg crumble" which I find falls off my spoon/fork and harder to eat. Whereas I stir less, use a lid to help cook the eggs from the top down, and we end up with bigger chunks as it cooks more solidly.
Big Agnes pulled the same crap. Except the ones they have are even more confusing. I actually had to make a video and send it to them because I kept Getty ng told to create a loop, but was never told how. It still doesn't make any sense
Thank you for this review. It was very informative and to the point. You covered all the details perfectly. I typically do not leave reviews, but your video was refreshing and original
It held up very well over the one season we had it. We decided to get rid of it because of the bar running down the middle. If you don't get the foam/air mattress just right, it gets in the way (for side sleepers who like to cuddle).
i think i figured them out. take the dead end remove it from the hole then make a loop and pass the end of the rope through the bottom of the clip then use the teeth to lock the main rope then use the other end to tighten the tent then put in the clip
Honest reviews are so hard to come by these days. I've been undecided looking for good reviews on camping mattresses for weeks! I sooo much appreciate this thank you ×100👍
Awesome review! Thank you!! It just came up as a lightening deal on Amazon and it's been on my list for awhile. Glad to see someone actually take the time to really go through the motions and put in an actual review you can trust. 👍👍
Thanks so much for the review! I'm looking for sleeping options for my 5th Gen 4Runner and your review was very helpful. I'll return with details about how this product fits in the cargo area.
Looking at the thumbnail, I think those are set up incorrectly: the knotted end of the line should pass the hole the opposite way. And that’s why they would slip…
Thanks for the help on how to run these things!! I've always avoided using them because I didn't want to anyone to know I don't know how to use them. : ) Hope you're enjoying camping season!!
Ive never seen those locking clips either except with this tent. Mine only slips. Even if teeth grab, a slight nudge and rope slips out. Inconsistent. Can’t imagine fiddling with it with mittens on. I’m going to toss them and go with a taut line hitch. I’ll put taut line hitch up close to the loop instead of at the stake end because I’ll have to use dead man anchors in the snow. Once those are in, usually they and the line freeze and there isn’t any movement on the line for adjustment with wind etc later. So… reversing typical set up and I’ll put double clove hitch on deadman and taut line hitch at tent loop. Trying it tonight in -17F. I’ll pre tie everything before heading out. At least I can count on knots.
Hey just found your channel and enjoying it 👍 Do you plan to make another video on your Teton bag? (2 yr review) 👍 Also another video idea for you in case you want an idea-a vid on your mustard recipe if your family is ok with you giving it out 🤪 happy camping 🏕🥳
Hi, thank you! It's currently -32 C without wind chill here at the moment so as soon as it comes up a bit, I'm planning on some car camping and making an update then. I had to ask my husband's permission for his secret ;) mustard recipe, so here it is: 9 tablespoons mustard powder, 1-2/3 cup all purpose flour, 1 cup white sugar, 1/4 cup vinegar, 1 tablespoon salt. Turmeric for color (~1 teaspoon, more for darker). Mix dry ingredients. Add just enough water to make it thick and sluggishly runny, start with 1/2 cup and add more in small bits, for as thick or as thin as you want. When you get to the consistency you want, stop stirring. Do Not Over-stir. Store in the fridge. It may thicken over the next day or two as it sits, so if it is a little runny, don't panic. Just use less water next time. Add more or less mustard powder for stronger or more tame "bite." Enjoy!
@@ruggedpine327 Thank you so much, I’ll make it hopefully this weekend. I found your site when I was trying to find someone talking about the Teton -35f sleeping bag. I just got it delivered today-think I’m going to love it. Anyways I am really into winter camping ice fishing and just made my van into a camper van. I will be definitely watching your videos!! 😁👍
I cut in a stove jack on mine , works good !! I just sit the stove on a cookie sheet with aluminum foil . Good to beyond minus 40 !! At minus 5 C , it was to hot ! Good tent for a single person and their gear . I wish people could post pictures in the comments section of RU-vid !
In Europe price wise I think that it is quite a steal at about 15EUR. Prior to your clip I didn't even consider that it could be "compatible" with any head torch of a similar size. Your review is very nice and certainly stands out. 👋
Looks like from the responses, the aim of the "teeth" are for friction/grabbing on the moving adjustable side of the rope, regardless how the rope is knotted off. Good to know for next time I come across these. Thanks for all the input. It's been very helpful.
That's not how you tie it! You tie the end wrong way, that's why is slippery, Here is the correct way:) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JQOuikG02Q8.html
