OneTigris Guyline Clips: How do these work?

Inadequate design or user ineptitude? First impression on the OneTigris Black Orca hot tent: material and construction get A+, but the upper clips are a bugger to figure out. I could not find instruction and regardless how I thought to secure them, they only held taught for a while then slipped under tension. What is your experience with them?

I couldn't for the life of me figure these out. Thanks for the video. I wish these came with at least a little card diagram to show what to do.

Thanks for the help on how to run these things!! I've always avoided using them because I didn't want to anyone to know I don't know how to use them. : ) Hope you're enjoying camping season!!

Looks like from the responses, the aim of the "teeth" are for friction/grabbing on the moving adjustable side of the rope, regardless how the rope is knotted off. Good to know for next time I come across these. Thanks for all the input. It's been very helpful.

Ive never seen those locking clips either except with this tent. Mine only slips. Even if teeth grab, a slight nudge and rope slips out. Inconsistent. Can’t imagine fiddling with it with mittens on. I’m going to toss them and go with a taut line hitch. I’ll put taut line hitch up close to the loop instead of at the stake end because I’ll have to use dead man anchors in the snow. Once those are in, usually they and the line freeze and there isn’t any movement on the line for adjustment with wind etc later. So… reversing typical set up and I’ll put double clove hitch on deadman and taut line hitch at tent loop. Trying it tonight in -17F. I’ll pre tie everything before heading out. At least I can count on knots.

Great idea! Let us know how that works. I thought the same thing, toss these in the bush and substitute what I know will not fail.

Looking at the thumbnail, I think those are set up incorrectly: the knotted end of the line should pass the hole the opposite way. And that’s why they would slip…

Big Agnes pulled the same crap. Except the ones they have are even more confusing. I actually had to make a video and send it to them because I kept Getty ng told to create a loop, but was never told how. It still doesn't make any sense

i think i figured them out. take the dead end remove it from the hole then make a loop and pass the end of the rope through the bottom of the clip then use the teeth to lock the main rope then use the other end to tighten the tent then put in the clip
