Im surprised how much finesse is required to make things look as close to real life as possible. I suppose it only matters if you are doing very close up and detailed renders. Plus it shows the limitations of making patterns in Clo with a view to real production garments. Clearly a sample would always be needed to check pattern fit.
I agree. While some product groups are more 3D-friendly than others, a physical sample is necessary. There will always be some gap in accuracy. We once did a test with a causal jacket. Patternmakers wanted to perfect the fit, so they made 5 slightly different patterns of the same jacket, and made them into physical samples. We made them in 3D as well, and while in real samples you could see the differences in fit, in 3D they all looked pretty much the same.
Is there any better RU-vid channel for understanding Clo3d than this one?? No there isn't! thank you so much for giving us away this content! 🙌🙌🙌 Are you planning on making like a Patreon or something similar soon? Thanks again!!
Thank you for your kind words! I am happy you find my videos useful. :) I am working on my own website now, that will offer some member-only services for 3D creation and learning, though I am not sure when it will be ready. I am doing it on my own, so it is taking time haha
@@digitalfashionsalad 😱😱😱 yayyy!! Sooo happy to hear that!! Can’t wait!! But take your time!! 🙌🙌🙌 sure its going to be grest!!! thanks again for all your content!!
Noted and yes I too later botices that there was a readymade Rib knit texture available in Fabric library. However, have you made any tutorial about combining these 3 -Texture map + Normal map + Displacement map to create Rib? I want to learn how you did it from the video if you have made one on that, so that I can apply to create other fabrics if I want to based on this technique.
When I create the initial shoe sole shape it's a sooth outline. But as soon as I and "cut" it out, it becomes jagged. When I zoom I on the 2d window, the cutout is missing part of the "fabric". In other words, the fabric doesn't go all the way to the edge. It's happening at the heel and the toe. I tried creating a larger rectangle but it has the same issue. Do you have any leads where I should look to correct it? Thanks for your video!
Here I used Texture map + Normal map + Displacement map for rib texture. But now you can also use CLO's new material type KNIT, where you can create realistic knit textures including rib.
In general trims in CLO have no capability to have collision with fabric. They can be attached to a piece of fabric and move together with it, but that's about it. You can import trims as avatar, then they will collide with fabric. But in this case they are static, they don't move in animations or pose change.
@@digitalfashionsalad By joining a piece of fabric, you mean just resting the buckle on it, right? but when I pretend they separate me, and another question, Are you saying about importing as avatar or trim?
hi, could you make a video for fashion lighting kinda of studio type or commercial look or style focus for commercial presentation also add a glimpse of High-quality render tips, I will be really grateful to you, thank you again!!
Excellent work. Your technique is very detailed and thorough, great for understanding how to manipulate/create realistic seams. For beginners I suggest taking a look at this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LFGUtcmpLcQ.html Both of your videos provided a nice workflow for making seams. Thanks so much!
Unfortunately CLO doesn't have that ability to make trims interact with pattern pieces. You have them either as ghosts that move through pattern pieces, or as solid objects who doesn't move at all. There is not much you can do. Some set up with pattern pieces and placing trims on them can help, but it is trial and error type of thing based on your specific situation.
I am able to achieve the Waistband effect as shown in video but the fabric color also changes along woth 2D pattern while adjusting the Skive. But in the vise, the fabric seen in 3D wndow remains the same. I wonder why it happens in my 3D window where the fabric colour is getting changed to Grey colour though I have white colour fabric applied to the top layer (same like how you have same colour in both Fabric 1 & Fabric 2, I have like that only). KIndly clarify me
You can check the Trim Display for your 3D Window, could be that 'show bond/skive' is on, that's why you see the fabric turning grey. Mine is off, so it doesn't change color.
@@digitalfashionsalad You were right, I checked off Skive option after which I was able to add the color I wanted to add and it worked out. Thanks for clarifying.. Also when we apply Skive, the wasitband happens to ballon out looking bulged. What should we do to flatten it?
you made one layer on cord, but its look like a rounded sewing fabric, how to creat that? because i followed the tutorial and get flat fabric instead of cord look like
Please check your Garment Rendering Style. If you can't see thickness of the fabric, most likely you are not using 'Thick Textured Surface' Rendering Style.
great tutorial thanks, and the only thing i noticed that your shortcut keys visiblity which happening on top of the property editor (right side bottom) so its bit difficult to check the value given, and my sugestion if you place some where above the 2d pattern window or left side bottom it might be helpful. thanks again for great tutorial.
Hi! Thank you for making this video. I find the poses you created very natural and complimentary to the clothes you present with them. Great work and thanks for sharing your process! A suggestion to you: make time stamps.
Thank you for your kind comment and suggestion. :) I will keep in mind, tho at least for now I have very limited time, so things like adding time stamps is difficult to do.
many thanks for the great video i somehow have problems after i took the rings out of the freeze they fell together even though i changed them to metal :)
The metal setting only applies to surface. CLO doesn't have the capability yet to simulate any trims in a natural way, where they interact and move together with the fabric. If you want the trims to interact with the fabric, you either have to keep them frozen or export them as OBJ and use them as hard objects. If you want the rings to move together with the straps, in animation for example. It is somewhat possible I think, but the set-up will be complicated, because the rings will have to be imported as Trims. In this case the fabric can't interact with the rings, so you have to have pattern pieces, that keep the loops in place. This method in video is good for still images.
