Hi I'm Elliot Stent, a musician from Woking, Surrey, England. On my channel you will find a variety of videos, including: gear demos, guitar covers, full covers, recording vlogs and original compositions.
I went with Hot Golds in the end (too chicken to risk losing the "quack" at 2 & 4), but this video always makes me question my choice... Probably the best pickup demo I've seen.
Dude! This is THE BEST demo for any Flanger I've seen so far. Been pulling my hair out trying to choose which one to buy, and have watched about 30 different revioews, but you've made my mind up for me...especially the different song clips that use the effect. That is so helpful. Thanks so much for the great video!
Sold my other guitars when I got my 1989 Strat Plus, It replaced them all and filled new spaces I didn't know I had, Most amazing guitar I've ever owned, I have the Dually Blue Gold Humbucker with two silver single coils, ultimate tone beast 🎸
I realize this is an old video, but great video demo. I'm not sure I'm sold on these, but I play almost totally hard rock blues based metal. ❤😂 Good stuff and great playing man . Those frets looked really small for me. I have a strat I just built with jumbo stainless frets I love with two EMG humbuckers and it just screams. Love it. Regards from the heartland. South Central Indiana. USA. Tim. ❤
Just got this pedal based off this video. Wanted to say thanks for the great demo. If you still have this pedal, any chance you can figure out the settings for "breakout" by Foo Fighters? I think I got it close, but you're the expert
Elliott is about a year from his last video post. Hope he is ok. This Strat set is special - no Strat pickups even approach this versatility as these. The Red strikes the perfect balance of girth and clarity with highs. Quite amazing.
Great into ,loved it . I ordered a three string because l've played 3 string electric dulcimer guitar for 20 years now ,mine don't have truss rods and it hasn't mattered . The 4 string you played has 2 truss rods .. Do you think it's better to have them on this instrument? Thx . btw -I know what you mean about changing instruments to get re inspired / I did it ,and never looked back
Wow! I just discovered your channel. You totally rip. I wish I was your neighbor. I'd show up to knock at your door with my bass and a pot of coffee, begging to jam together. Liked and subscribed.
i have a 80s strat w golds in the neck and bridge and a red in the middle position, just my take on where what pickup is optimum. played thru a blues jr and a dod juicebox. ive probably had more compliments on that setup tone wise than any other setup ive ever ran.
When you say ‘layers’ are you double/triple/quad (or more) tracking those parts? (And slightly offsetting to fatten it up?). Any recommendations of what pedal to use live if only using 1 guitar, to try and get a little bit of that multi-tracking effect? (To get a fuller/thicker sound?)
That’s correct 👍 You could try the TC Electronic Mimiq, although I don’t have any experience with it. Just running a little bit of delay will thicken up your sound though, like an analogue or tape delay emulation that’s a little more subtle.
Not an overkill of technical information talk, with lots of settings over good, well known tunes. Great video man! I hope MXR supported you, you deserve it. I also play a tele of this vintage/variety ('89), so I love your strat shamelessly as well.
