Some good ole Nova Scotian boys on a filmmaking journey to inspire others to get outdoors! Fly fishing, fly tying, hunting and coffee, can you really beat it??
thank you guys for your fishing videos it's great and much appreciated. made my first trip to nova scotia this year and loved it. thight lines from Québec !
This is in Yarmouth county, pretty much anywhere down there you can catch fish! There’s Bridges and rivers between the lakes and you can fish from shore in lots of them so lots of opportunities to catch them!
Thanks for sharing. I'm sure you and the family had fun. Unfortunate the two main invasive species - smallmouth bass and the God forsaken chain pickerel - have destroyed many of our trout fisheries.
Nope it’s not, i can’t really specify where it was out of respect of James who took me, but he is a guide if you would like to reach out to book with him!
Biggest brown I caught on shores of lake Ontario 13lbs...I expected they would be bigger down there...across all species....but out of all the shows I watch on RU-vid, not what I see. I wonder if its because of commercial fishing? When I search sport fishing down there, it doesn't get the best promotion. I wonder that they dont like it because it cuts into commercial fishing? I dont know. But curious what expect if I moved down there?
Im not a fly fisher, but I could be. Im used to plastics and crank baits, spinners and spoons etc., and the old stand by..live bait. When I go trout fishing in the great lake tributaries and beaches, I use roe sacks. My favorite is steelhead or rainbow, caught my fair share of browns of the beach using floater roe sacks...in april, still ice on shore. Just open where small creeks and rivers empty in the lake. Salmon in the fall, the odd brown to. Good luck to ya
That’s awesome man!! Yes it’s a totally different story here in NS compared to Ontario from what I understand. There’s definitely lots of great fishing to be had, but with such a small province like NS comes extra pressure from lots of types of fishermen. I wouldn’t go off of us for reference on size of brown trout though, there are lots of guys that hook into way bigger ones than us! Even the small ones are fun though, especially on a fly rod! I highly recommend trying it out some time! Thanks for the comments!
Great video. I subscribed and liked. I was using a whole mackerel this one day when I was after a 40 plus inch striper but I hooked a great white shark instead while fishing fom my kayak in the Bay of Fundy. Part of my video was used on the Discovery Channel episode called The Great White North. Toss me a subscription too, if you like, I only need a couple more to get 1000 :) Cheers
That was good stuff Boys, and right next door .. I'm in NB and usually fish for stripers in Miramichi with the fly rod as well. The water looked like the chocolate river, and I was a bit surprise that they could see the flies. Nice strong fish
Enjoyed the fishing passion/accent and just having a good time. Haven't been in NS since 1980 after completing a 10K bicycle starting in Astoria Oregon but have very fond memories of the people of Cape Breton, South Shore, and the border with New Brunswick. Regards from down-under in New Zealand.
Caught a nice rainbow in the Bras dor Lake yesterday about 21-22 inches and a few sea trout as well spring is finally here🎉🎉🎉 And yes I’m from Newfoundland just visiting and doing some spring fishing
