Great video, I like seeing bits of the network I haven't been on yet. It's a good reference for future travels. We're off down to the boat tomorrow but won't get far as we have our granddaughter with us. Take care both 👍
Cheers George. Sorry for the late reply but it's been too good just cruising enjoying the scenery and pubs !! Hope you had a good time with your family. 👍
Oops wrong episode!! Now on the correct one!! Good morning to you both. Just spoken to you on the Trent and Mersey canal, between Alrewas and Fradley!! Lovely speaking to you both. We have subscribed for all your travels. Good luck and have fun. Saw you going through Fradley Junction too, (we were having a coffee!) just before you turned off down the Coventry Canal. 👍 Pete and Caroline.

It's when you start cursing that you realise how worthwhile all of that hard work was, well done. The paint job on that multi coloured boat was even more complicated than Nanny's! Is that tubular extension arft of the stern part of the hood frame, or for protection? Congratulations on your 21st all of you seemed to have had a good time, and indeed you're continuing to do so, making full use of the canal's attractions!
Thanks Tony. We've seen a few very different boats on our travels and loved seeing them. Each to their own. The tubular extension is part of the pram hood rear section that drops down when we are cruising. Nanny had a great birthday but think it's time now for her stop celebrating 😂😂😂. Hope you're well. 👍
Looks like you are enjoying this new life....bit tight getting in and out of Mercia but it looks a lovely base for some. What plans do you have for cruising for the rest of the year?
Cheers Gary. It's a nice Marina but a bit posh for us 😂. We're vcontinuos cruisers so will just keep travelling. Looking at winter moorings so we can still carry on our travels overseas through winter.👍
Happy Birthday(s)! Thanks for the journey. Your boat looks lovely. I enjoyed the narration, but I do miss the closed captioning. I have a bit of trouble catching all your comments. Have fun!
I don't find you boring at all! If I ever built out a narrow boat, I'd want Grandad to do it. My decorating style is different than yours Nanny, but your build looks rock solid and very space conscious. All the best from Missouri.
Thanks for taking us on your journey it’s just like the old days when you got all your directions via pub to pub only on water 😂😂😂 you can see the confidence getting better sailing your boat on each update even grandad doing a handbrake turn on water well done to both of you 👏👏👏💪
Thanks John. Pub to pub sounds good to us 🤣🤣🤣. It's been a learning curve but getting a bit more confident the longer we are cruising. Hope you're well. 👍
@@makinganarrowboatwithnannyandg yeah all good here thanks. Once again waiting for scan results 😞. Please don’t forget if your sailing the canal waterways near middlewich just give me some notice and a large beer will be on the bar of the kings lock. (Maybe one each if am in a good mood) 😂😂😂
@@makinganarrowboatwithnannyandg Thank you for the reply, I used a 1,1/4" for the galley sink in the end as it was easier to find the fittings for a 38mm hose and it matched up to the old one. Will be using 3/4" for the rest though 👍
It was lovely to see you both at Willington this morning - only sorry I couldn't stop for a longer chat. Your channel has been a great source of DIY advice and has definitely helped with my own ongoing project. Wanderlust looks amazing in the flesh, a real tribute to all your hard work. Good luck with the cruising and keep the videos coming.
Sorry for the late reply but we've been out enjoying ourselves too much !! Glad we've been of some help but don't hold us responsible if anything goes wrong lol.
I was on the Trent and Mersey for 10mins last week. Just turning at the end of the Middlewich branch. Looks like you had a good run out, the boat looks and sounds great.
Hi John. We put music over the original sounds because a lot of the time we are talking about private and personal stuff. Or otherwise we would have to leave that footage out and we are not vloggers that film all the time and would not have enough content. 👍
All your hard work has come together. As tonycamplin says the engine sounds perfect. The whole boat looks so smooth your ballast must be just right. Going to ask you one of them questions……..if you could would you change anything I certainly wouldn’t. Well done now time to enjoy. Maybe time to get a little dog to go with the image. P.s don’t forget to take us with you. Shame you have just missed the middlewich and Lyme boat festivals brilliant weekends.
Thanks John. We would have the wrap around on the stern a little higher. We are going to do a vlog in the future after we have used her for a while on anything we would change. We would love a dog but intend to carry on with our travels overseas in winter times so for now it's a no to a dog. Take care. 👍
It must have been nice to take a break from all those jobs, you certainly deserved one. That other boat's paint complimented yours perfectly. What a nice quiet engine. Grandad is getting good at this steering lark isn't he?
Thanks Tony. Few less bumps and grazes this time but still need plenty of practice. We thought the same about the other boat colour. Have a great week. 👍
I’ve just received the McALPINE upsw-4-22-22mm shower outlet there were two gaskets different thicknesses for the underside of the shower no instructions so a little confused as which one to use maybe you could give me advice ,thank you.
Hi. We didn't need to. But if ever we need to we can just slice the insulation , lift it out the way, remove ballast and then refit and seal the insulation. 👍
Not boring in the slightest. It's highly entertaining, amusing and I love your attention to detail. I only hope I can match it on my channel. Keep it up.
Hi guys I have just returned from the middlewich folk and boat festival and have been speaking to quite a few boaters on the cut about you both and your journey from beginning to near end and everyone had been following or had heard of your vlog. Maybe next year we could see you both there in person of course with Wanderlust. Once again great update.. p.s see grandad took over when the going got tough 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 sorry nanna was only joking.
Thanks John. We had a look at the festival on line and it looks great. It is something we would definitely be interested in going to if we were that way. We have heard a few shouts of "Nanny and Grandad" on our travels so far ! It does make us smile. 🤣. Grandad here......I'm surprised Nanny let me have a go. 🤣👍
Another great job done fantastically well, the more you do the more you learn. If you ever do another it'll be even easier. There must be somewhere that needs a diamond pattern putting on! However I think that you should have painted the lettering freehand and put shadows round the letters or maybe just pinstripes round them. Think that I said last time my nephew owns a company that makes an puts up stencils and vynal signs, mainly on vans, he uses a window cleaner's squeeze to put them on. Didn't know that grandad does his eyebrows, does he use fake lashes as well?!
Thanks Tony. We do like the more traditional style shadowing but thought our font was too modern to take that style. Agree the more you do the more you learn. I might sneak a few more diamonds in when Grandad isn't looking or he's busy plucking his eyebrows. 🤣🤣🤣.
Cheers Norman. Some people say modern day pumps don't need an accumulator ( white vessel next to our cold water tank under the bed ) to stop the pump cycling but we fitted one as belt and braces. As for the expansion tank not sure if you mean the header tank high up in the calorifier cupboard or the silver expansion vessel next to the calorifier. If it's the plastic tank at high level I would say definitely. If it's the silver vessel next to the calorifier i would say yes also as it will help to absorb any expansion when the water is heated in the calorifier. I think it recommends an expansion on the hot side of the calorifier in the installation instructions for the calorifier but haven't got them to hand or I would check for you. Hope this helps. 👍
@makinganarrowboatwithnannyandg thanks for reply. Yes i have an accumulator by the cold tank. I also have header tank for central heating, but no expansion tank by calorifier as you fitted, just an expansion pipe which exits out the side of the boat. I am having one fitted but think boat buolder should have fitted it. Assume it wont effect BSC test .
Hi guys. Even though it's been lovely being in the sticks with very little or no internet or phone signal, you realise how much you rely on them, especially when you try to upload a vlog to RU-vid. There's been a little bit of swearing on the boat the last few weeks 😂😂😂. Hope you're both well. 👍.
