Thankyou, Dave is becoming our hero. Yep the steps have turned out really good. There was probably many other ways to achieve the same idea but this one felt the easiest to us and it worked. Just watched your latest one, made us giggle. I will comment on it once i have caught up with all our comments. Yep will be great to have a pint with you lot 👍

Those steps look really great and also make excellent storage compartments. Why no diamonds on them?! Like the grandchildren's compartments, out of the mouths of babes etc. comes the truth. When you made the sides wouldn't it have been easier to make them together so that you didn't have to make all those complicated measurements to get the supports in exactly the right places? Glad that Grandad's finger seems to have finally healed. I wish that I could screw and saw as quickly as him!
Thankyou Tony, Saving the diamonds up for another job in a couple of weeks. Yes there was probably lots of quicker ways of making the steps but we got there in the end 👍. Yes all healed now🤟
Fantastic step design both nana & grandad getting close to finishing. Did notice within the step compartment was there a hole leading to the engine bay with pipe work running through it, will this let fumes in once your engine is running ?
Thankyou John. Yes the hole is in the bulkhead which is under the fixed 1st step. All the pipes and anything else coming through that hole will be easy accessed when we pull the set of 5 steps forward. That is why we have made the steps in 2 parts so we can move them to get to any pipes and the Calorifier. Eventually once we have finished the cupboards and floor at that end and we know there is no more stuff to come through from the engine bay we will fill the hole before it is boxed in. We also have a hole for all the cables to come through and that will be done the same way. You will get to see all that on a vlog in a couple of weeks i think. 👍
