I'm an aviation nut. This channel showcases videos of some of my RC airplanes and other aviation related nonsense.
Particularly I'm going to focus on build logs, kit reviews, and aerial flight reviews. As much as I enjoy flying, I actually enjoy building even more, so many of my videos will reflect that. I'm a member of NVRC in Northern Virginia, so if you're in the area and want to come join me at the Poplar Ford or Lorton fields just let me know!
Side note... I don't feed the trolls. I WELCOME constructive criticism and suggestions for things I might have overlooked, missed, or just generally screwed up. There is always more to learn and I'm eager to learn from others. That being said, if you're here to fling insults and mean spirited comments I'll just delete your comment and block you. Especially if you're a commenter with none of your own projects shared on here.
With the friction on the dowel, I understand how you get the plane level by turning the dowel, then you plumb down to C.G. What I don't get is if the dowel has friction, how does the plane balance when weight is added? Seems like the friction on the dowel would hold it at level, so the added weight would be moot.
I'm hanging in there! Hobby time has mostly evaporated, including time for full scale stuff, but I believe it is just for this season of my life and that as my daughter gets older time will present itself again. That being said I'm packing up to head to Flite Fest tomorrow so I'll get some flying in!
@@CarlLydickRC Awesome brother. Glad things are going well and family stuff is what keeps you from the hobbies not work or health issues as some have to deal with. Looking forward to all the Flite Fest footage from everyone. Say hi to John P and Josh O for me as I am sure the three amigos will be doing their thing as always.
Got our first Stearman in 1963 ! It was also painted in the Army scheme ! N 206J was my very first tail wheel aircraft to fly ! After learning how to handle her on the ground, we learned how to fly her! I found out she dosen't like straight and level !
Thank you very much sir for this video. I'm very new to fusion 360 and you are right, trying to design a panel as a newbie is very discouraging. Ive been trying to design my pannel for the past 4 days now and I have gotten no where. Until I saw your video this morning. so, this video is much appreciated! Quick question thought. I will be using 15 to 16 inch monitors as my g1000. now, do I need to create recess in the surface of panel? or im fine with just drawing the dimension in my panel where the monitors will be install? Thanks.
Nice to finally see you got it on the ground scarier than you would like for sure but all went well i know you have lots of hard work in this bird they have a great presence in the air an on the ground nice flight , iam building a CY model P40 Warhawk 90" wing span going electric where did you get the nose cone having a hard time finding one, the base is 5 1/2 to 5 3/4 would you be able to help thanks
hrrrmmm thought I commented on this one when you posted it. Well done.. I was just hopping back in to see if there will be any updates on the real one soon and if you have gotten more air time in that over the summer.. Inquiring minds want to know!
For my 13th birthday, my grandfather bought me a ride in a Stermam. It was my first time to fly and it was 55 years ago. I've been a wing nut ever since.
This is very exciting, but real Stearman instructors are rare. I’m trusting you’re not just using some CFI. Obviously by now, you have experienced having the weight of the fuel in that top wing, especially when applying brakes. I see this video is about a year old. How’s it going?
I've had good results using this method in the past, but couldn't get it to work with radiomaster ELRS. Any suggestions? Is it supported? When I "discover sensors" RSSI doesn't come up.
What has happened to the windows on this bomber and is this from objects hitting it at certain times while flying it these widows are scratched up from end to end here.
the pilot should check that he got steering fist, second he lost control because he gunned the throttle, then he lost control, try to return to the runway, when out the runway and when he when into the runway the edge of the tarp lift up, and took the main gear up. They need better pilot. rocky mistake, he almost destroy the plane.
True, but this was definitely NOT by design. That Geotex runway is only put down for the event and there is absolutely NO surface preparation under it. If you depart the runway your best bet is to stick with the bumpy grass. This was not the only model damaged by catching the edge of that geotex
From the pre-flight conversation with the pilot it was not at 55lbs for this flight. I actually don't think 55lbs is bad given the capabilities on-board.
That was pretty interesting. Listened to the commentary.. thought... hrrrmmm Flite test, Flite Fest, is hobby level fun. then I hear all them sponsors and purpose and potential use thinking... is now the best time for people to be aligning with the military for RC projects... Might be just me we all know I dont think like todays humanz.
@@CarlLydickRC from my perspective I thought the grass took out the gear but from this video it looks like it got caught in the runway tarp. The reason it went off the runway was that the nose steering failed.
