Hey! Great video :) I have a V50 from 2007 and there's this "clunking" noise coming from both sides of the front and sometimes from the back. I went to a mechanic who wated $1500 to do the replacement. I think I can do it myself if I can access a car lift. What do you think? :)
I have a 2013 ’drive’ with the same problem since I replaced the battery several years ago. Tomorrow I’ll try this remedy. There’s however another problem: after replacing the RF-ABS-sensor only the ’city safety’-warning does not disappear. Is there a kind of reset procedure known? All other warnings are gone after resetting the system.
Hi great video on the new B5 engine. Do you think this engine is more reliable over the T5 engine ? im not a fan of the mild hybrid system but least its not a full hybrid system. i was looking at a 2021 XC 60 but now for a used 2022 its not really a big price difference. thanks
@@paulrakis 2021 t5 are good Early b5 still too early. Always recommend buying models that are at least 3-4 years after because early models always have issues in every manufacturer
@VolvopediaGuy awesome thanks brother. Yeah a friend of mine has the T6 version they has some problems before with the coils or something. Having an engine turbo and supercharged is too much going on. That's why I like the T5 less issues. But T6 had so much more power.
I just recently got a MY24 XC40 Twin Recharge and noticed this vibration at around 110km/h, also noticed it from the rear when requesting high power off the line. I belive this fits the bill for your video, is this technical bulletin recent?
@@DEDR1CK well had to stop the job because the axles did not fit the xc40 only c40 There was a confusion with volvo case team. This car customer returned because there was not fix available at that time. I don’t know if there is a new technician bulletin
@@VolvopediaGuy Wow, that torque is so mild. Good idea is to use some medium thread locker too. Thank you very much for checking that for me 🙌 p.s. mine tighten 35-45 Nm, next time I'll use correct torque and some medium thread locker.
This was straight and to the point! I read the comments and always appreciate when the person posts the video responds to questions. I know this is my issue, understanding how the job is done, approximate job time is very important to me. I know this is not a job I want or can tackle myself. I have a 2010 XC90 w/ 108,600 mi., not sure it’s worth fixing. I can’t find anyone reliable in my area to work on this car. Checked out your channel & subscribing. Keep up the good work.
@@lzh3131 hey man anytime Just hope u get it car fix. If u have lil bit of mechanical ⚙️ experience won’t be so hard to do. Just remember to lock your steering wheel with the seat belt before removing the rack so it won’t rotate
My exhaust looks scary to disassemble in the middle like you did. Mine is crazy rusted and old, I’m afraid it will fracture while taking apart. I better get the PB Blaster soaking on it already.
Yes. T5 is a 4 cylinder turbo . T6 is a 4 cylinder with super charger i believe and t8 is a hybrid The B for mild hybrid . But still 4 cylinders B5. B6.
So what happens if the battery isn't maybe in the best condition anymore but you reset it? Will it still give an actual warning that the battery is low when it REALLY is low, or will it just drain without a warning? I bought a second hand xc70 and they replaced the battery, but i just don't know when. I regulary get this message after just having the car on without the engine running. Even just some minutes is enough to get the message, but the battery never really went that low that i couldn't start the car. Would resetting be wise?
Hello, I want to swap the engine D4204T5 in a S60 2015 D4 with 8AT. Is it possible to dismantle/swap it without the gearbox, upwards, through the hood? without removing the forward axle and gearbox?
We don’t have disel engines in America But actually is easier to pull the whole engine out of vehicle from top 🔝 but it takes some special tool to lift engine out and to hold engine supported before pulling engine out
Can a bad pcv cause a CEL p0171? Experiencing a squeak that I thought was a pulley but it goes away when I take the oil cap off and the dipstick was super hard to remove
Yes. Sometimes when u hit something with wheel the alignment goes off By just doing the alignment it can be corrected If something is bent inner and outer tire rods can be replaced instead of the whole rack
No that i know. But there might be people overhauling racks in some shop . At this point recommend new part . It depends on tye budget. Fcp euro website has decent prices
@@VolvopediaGuy it's very hard to "catch" the sound in the first place, it's mostly audible slightly when im driving through a tight space like a drive way and can hear it with my windows open, and only gets loud rarely for a few seconds, mostly soon after starting the car. But I already ordered the trap. I have 170k km on the car but I'm not the first owner and I'm pretty sure it was never changed.
Thank you for the video, my 2011 XC70 has recently been doing this, cannot even listen to the radio for a few minutes, no sign that it is an actual fault or failing battery, will try this tomorrow.
@@VolvopediaGuy well done, this worked 100% (exactly as you said). FWIW my XC70 D5 was registered in December 2010. Probably what the manufacturer would call Model Year 2011.
@@VolvopediaGuy I have a 2017 t6 s90 with some kind of leak in the back and on hot days after I get on it pretty good it'll smoke when I park it and sometimes it's quite a bit. I have no lights on on the dash and I'm confused as to why it does it it doesn't do it in the winter
