Seems like you still subscribe to the "I hate woke Doctor Who" mindset. At least, to a point. So, I can't help but wonder why you're making this video. What's the point of making this video--which will ABSOLUTELY provoke a toxic reaction from the toxic bigots--if you want less toxicity in the fandom? Because you know that being called out & getting attention is exactly what they want. I'm just wondering why you went to the trouble of doing this. Was it to point out how horrible they are? Or to just put yourself above/separate from them? I'm unfamiliar with your previous videos, so I'm just asking. Is this a situation where you've "seen the error of your ways?" Or is it something else? And now that series 1/14 is complete, have your opinions changed?
Hello friend. I wouldn't worry what others think. Everyone can enjoy what they like without judgement. Rock on! 🙂 p.s. some people or youtubers are rage merchants/wind up merchants. They do it for the clicks especially those who have youtube adverts. Ignore them and keep on enjoying life. 🙂 Live long and prosper 🖖🙂
Sorry. But I don't think that the show is anywhere near as good as it used to be. Yes the TV landscape has changed, but the trend shows viewers are leaving and that shouldn't be ignored. I started watching as a kid with William Hartnell. My Doctor was Patrick Troughton. But when Eccleston brought the Doctor back I thought the new format was great and thoroughly enjoyed Tennent, Smith and Capaldi, all different but all the Doctor. I looked forward to the first female Doctor and watched all of Jodie's run, but was more and more disappointed. When Ncuti was announced I really wanted to see what he brought to the role. Unfortunately the show has become preachy and a platform for LGBTQ+ messaging which gets in the way of good SciFi entertainment. So I am guessing that this is why people are complaining about the new series. Before anyone points the finger at me and shouts Homophobe, Transphobe or bigot. I'd just like to say, that I have friends who are Lesbian and Trans, and have no issue with anybody's sexuality. But I do not feel that it needs to be preached in a family entertainment show such as Dr Who. Yes Dr Who has always had messages in the storylines, but cleverly and subtly. The messages are shouted out at you in the current series and it is unpleasant and far from entertaining.
You keep saying its influenced by political ideas but excluding that their are lessons of morality and consequences thats what you miss. Hating white men is not a moral point and has consequences and you are a paid shill.
Great video - Most of these I had already written off as I don't need any more hate in my life (I get enough of that with angry politicians...) *But how about a flip side video of the great Doctor Who review channels that actually do research and point out nuances in the shows.*
In the US on network TV these days you get one million first views and Variety calls that a hit. And the show goes onto 10 seasons. BTW the rating are 4-5 million once iPlayer numbers are added and that is not small... Most of the high rating shows now are live, or rely on you watching as they air - think sports shows or reality TV like Strictly. In Australia we rarely see any 'normal' tv shows get more than 300.000 viewers but in the 90s you could still get over a million easily for basic rubbish shows. Times, as they say, are changing.
Dr. Who got infested by Disney woke, pandering to 10% of the worlds population. Disney on it's continual journey down the toilet. Just look at the viewing figures and Disney's loss of money.
Dr who did become bad at the end of Peter Capaldi's eara, still watchable but when jodies eara came in, its bad but there are some barely watchable episodes but now with evidence on Ncuti Gatwas episodes, everyone is quitting doctor who, if you see the official viewing ratings then you see that the viewing figures dropped and now its reached to about 2 million viewers overnight. No doubt that in the cinema releases, it's gonna be lower than 2 million as NOBODY would want to spend extra money to watch something they can watch anytime and watch again without coughing up more of their money.
P.S. I like your channel because you are balanced and you argue your points effectively, providing logical justification. As someone about Capaldi's age I find I can relate to him very strongly.
World Enough and Time and The Doctor Falls are the two of the most emotionally engaging episodes DW in it's history. I loved the Capaldi years. His acting clout and characterisation are bewildering brilliant. I hope over the years increasingly more people come back to discover just how great Capaldi is. This was a golden period for this viewer.
okay, im trying to be as fair and open minded watching this. But that is made so much more difficult when the reviewer in question only looks at the serface level of these channels without actually listening to the points they have to make. If you actually watch some of these channels, like nerdrotic, and actually listen to their points. Often times they'll point out (like me and many others have) that we don't care what race gender and so on the doctor is, as long as they can do the role justice. Then they'll often go on to discuss the certain issues they have with performance or the episode or the writing. And often times it's fairly constructive. Now, to be fair, i can only speak to the channels I've watched on this list. The others, for all i know, he could have a perfectly valid point on. But as I've not watched those, i can't speak to that. As for people using the "they say doctor who is woke so they don't like it, but it's always been woke" accept, they didn't say that, or at least they didn't if you don't take it severely out of context. What they actually point out is that doctor who, while it used to make political points and would do it with tact and well written, in recent years it's been less tactful and more... Rammed down your throat like trying to force feed roadkill down you until you convince yourself it's tasty to cope. Now credit where it's due, i much prefer Ncuti's season so far to jodie's... But something 10% better then trash, still makes it trash. Even if there's some sugar spinkled on top. I respect your disclaimer at the start, and you are entirely correct. Those are just your opinions and you are most certainly entitled to them. In the same way, these are my thoughts too, and i hope regardless of any difference of opinion we may have here, you can share that same sentiment to mine and others as well.
@@stewartmair3995 There was a pretty popular Doctor Who RU-vidr, who is now famous for murdering his pregnant girlfriend and tried to cover it up with an alibi fake livestream. A livestream in which he dropped clues about the incoming murder. Pretty sick, all things considered.
Im probably the most right wing viewer here, frankly I lost interest sometime around Jodies first season, after the prego man episode which was just stupid but have had problems in it long before that, like the blatent sexism during capaldis seasons Chirs chibnal is a hack and jodi had f.a to work with in that regard The show in its current state is practically unwatchable at this point because the doctor has become too ridiculously flamboyant, perhaps i could give an ounce of credit had them had messaging been subtle, but of course it isn't In any event the political messaging is too blatant and bias and the writering too low quality
Honestly thank you so much for addressing this! I have only started watching Doctor Who in 2017 with series 5 (Now I've seen all of NuWho and Classic Who seasons 1-14) And yes, I might be the minority that actually didn't mind the 13th Doctor's era. I don't think it's the best, not at all (Orphan 55 amirite?). But I had fun while watching it regardless! And constantly being called insults on the internet (woke idiot, fake fan etc.) just.. felt bad. I've grown up since then and stopped taking things like that to heart. I just really wish I didn't keep going to god damn Nerdrotic for a review and then feeling like shit afterwards. Either way, I would like to highlight the channels Council of Geeks, WhoCulture and the Confused Adipose. I don't always agree with everything they say, but they never made me feel like shit for liking something XD And they generally stray to the positive, which I just prefer to come back to!
oh, and this isnt just a Doctor Who thing, they put the anti-woke on movies,,, movie has a strong female lead....woke. Now I dio think, some studios do things like race and /or gender swapping characters, that I do find annoying, but I can also be ok with it if it doesnt change the story, or like with Spiderman and Miles....Miles and Peter Parker are two different characters from two seperate worlds.
yeah i noticed a trend of Anti Dr Who, like each video thumb nail is like doom and gloom, and how terrible it is, but nice to find channels that are more positive...i mean there is critizing a moment, and just crapping anything, just trying to find something to focus on, the one thing that only proves the series is on a decline or is preachy, or whatever. The real fans will watch cause they like it...and may not like every episode but still watch it. Like when Doctor 13 came about, called it woke, despite it was long established earlier the Doctor could loook like anyone, even have two head or no head. and 11th's reaction after changing, he thought he was a girl at one moment
Most of the people I follow or know personally agree that the problem with the Jodie Whittaker era wasn't Jodie Whittaker, it was Chris Chibnall. It was thematically all over the place, and often felt rushed and emotionally hollow. The Flux and the Timeless Child arc had to wait for RTD's return to gain any emotional consequences.
Genuinely at the point anyone uses the words 'woke', 'the message', 'DEI', 'SJW' - anything like that, they're either just neo-nazis. They're either disgusting bigots or grifters willing to profit off hatred. It sucks so many want to endlessly rant about Doctor Who
I often wonder if these people started their grift as a way to get easy money and are now left with no other audience than the angry inbreeds they've attracted.
I would love to know who watches Doctor Who for the political content. I never did. If I want politics I will watch the news programmes. I want escapism and always got it until now. I am old enough to have watched from the beginning, and no one watched for the politics, if it was political, we missed that as young children, and rightly so. I am glad you began with the words ‘this is my opinion only’, and now you have mine.
Bowlestrek's really early, early videos were actually pretty good because he just talked about his love of Doctor Who. DVDs. The Episodes. The actors. And, most importantly, not many views. Then Jodie Whittaker came along and everything changed for Bowlestrek who turned out to be the biggest bigot in the universe. With, sadly, tons of views from narrow-minded tools.
What do you think of it now a month later Mr Movie Rewind? Now that we have had 6 episodes of this garbage that is masquerading as Doctor Who. Doctor Who has been turned into a shadow of its former self by the arrogant idiot RTD and Disney. I have been watching it since at least the Troughton era. But I am done with this garbage. You can call me a racist homophobe if you like. I don't give a toss. But I don't want to watch a Black Gay Doctor. I only watched about 4 minutes of your video. But I won't be subscribing. There is no such thing as the worse Doctor Who RU-vidrs.
You won't hear from Nerdrotic or Heels vs Babyface as they can't be bothered to review crap. After Rogue Id be surprised if the show isn't axed before series two. It has had disastrous viewing figures for every episode of the first series. We are talking the two million mark at peak viewing, saturday night. That is not a success. The overbearing gay elements in Rogue were just appalling for a children's programme.
With likes of Nerdrotic and Bowlestrek, it's very tenuous whether you can even call them Doctor Who RU-vidrs. They are political commentators who are using Doctor Who criticism as a front for reactionary far right wing propaganda, it's all very superficial.
Yes I'd like to accept my awards for Best WhoTuber, Best Newcomer WhoTuber and Maybe Funniest But Not Sure WhoTuber. I am so woke, when I'm not asleep. That Nerdrotic one sounds like a skin waste, glad I've not seen him. Reaper sounds like he needs a hard slap. (Is he white, or does he not know himself?) And Bole sounds like a wee incel flake. I could take down with a feather. Doesn't sound too bright. There's too much lazy toxic WhoTube. Gotta support ppl who set themselves apart with hard graft, entertainment, love and analysis.
Some of these guys are so sensitive they send their minions into the comments to harass you lol why are people who think they are part of the 'superior race' so sensitive?
Doctor Who had politics but it wasn't forced. You were never told how you were supposed to feel. The End started when Missy was introduced as The Master. Tennant was never a gay Docter before The Star Beast
