I also had a suicide attempt years ago. It was my dog who walked in and stopped me. Since then, I put in the work and now I'm the most inspired I've ever been. I'm also in a beautiful relationship now. There is light on the otherside.

"Ailleurs" 23:31 is pronounced "Eye-yuhr" (it means "elsewhere") -- I'm a longtime lurker, checking into your channel from time to time. You've introduced me to many great artists new-to-me (e.g., Blind Mr. Jones); and I thank you for that (the music) and your unapologetic social-political conscience.
Im glad you made something available on bandcamp. Ill pick one up and thanks for sharing with us on everything going on. You are a better human influence than the ones who try to get their way with lies and scare tactics and bs
I know why you do the disclosures at the beginning of your videos, but I personally consider it an honor when you speak your mind about your views and happenings in life. Thank you for always sharing. Have a great day Dereck!
Thinking of you and the entire RAF family today, DH. Trevor and I were able to have some brotherly together last night to celebrate some music. Much needed for many reasons. Cheers-
Hi! I wonder if you would like to make a list of albums that had change your mind over the years..I'm talking about mind bending music that change your perspective for some reason in a specific time in your life
Apparently they were allowed to use the H.P. Lovecraft name because the H.P. Lovecraft estate manager was a friend of a friend of one of the band members.
Greetings Mr. Derek Higgins!! The first time I saw you perform live on stage in Omaha, which is both your home and mine, you were the bassist for R.A.F. and you were an opening band along with Power Spoken Word for my favorite Punk band at the time: Dead Kennedys!! It was on October 31st, 1985(?) Maybe? Or 1987? I forget. But I still have the ticket stub from that show. It was my 1st show I ever went to and I attempted my 1st stage dive. I got up on the stage, moshed around for a few seconds and proceeded to jump as high & as far as I could off the stage. As I descended downward the crowd dispersed to the left and right and I came crashing down on that unforgiving hardwood floor which will never be forgotten!! Lol. I slowly got up and acted like nothing was wrong and made my way back into the safe area where no one was moshing so I could lick my wounds!! True story!! But before I forget, I'd like to say "Thank You" for being part of the local punk/alternative scene here in Omaha when I was just a teenager getting into Punk and growing up going to shows with you playing for R.A.F. and of course Digital Sex. Loved your shows & music as well as your energy on stage!! I still got the R.A.F. No Time cassette tape!! Along with Apathy Out the Window album from Seth, the Homan Brothers and the awesome Mark Blackman on drums who went on to No Heroes with Paul Merky(also from R.A.F.) Phil and my buddy Jzun Lankford. Jzun of course went on to Bellychain with a really good old buddy of mine Bones(aka: Scott Moulton) who are now playing in a band called The Gentleman Delinquents. Anyways, I've babbled on long enough for now. If you and the R.A.F.guys play another show... I definitely want to show up and relive some of my best memories as a young Punk growing up in Omaha!! Keep playing and pushing forward!! Hope to see you sometime soon!! BIG D
