I think overall Cersei ended creating the monster she said Daenerys was like her father evil and all that, she lied and was fully sure that she wouldn't dare to take the city with thousands of innocent people there, she deep down knew Daenerys wasn't like her, and she lied about Daenerys knowing it, she was fully sure that Daenerys wouldn't burn Kings Landing, but she push her so bad, and awake a The Dragon, and in the end an angry and broken dragon was far worse than a broken and angry lionees, Cersei created the monster
She was so evil. Tyrion had a good heart and constantly underestimated her. He knew she was evil but still saw good in her. He also underestimated Daneryus. He saw her faults but also saw the good. He was a decent man who genuinely cared about others. The best character on the show. Peter was fabulous in this role. So talented.
"You've always loved your children, more than yourself." This line really shows how Tyrion always underestimated just what Cersei was capable of, because he still persisted in seeing her as capable of loving someone else. In fact Cersei only loved her children (and Jaime) as extensions of herself, she's never loved anyone except herself.
Spot on. Even when a Narcissist appears to love you, it's only to the extent that they see you as part of them. Or to the extent that they derive some sense of pleasure or validation from you. And when you act in ways contrary to their wishes and interests, or you no longer please them for any reason, that "love" can turn absolutely malicious in a heartbeat.
Cersei had several chances to kill Tyrion but never could do it, she was fine with him losing the trial and being executed or someone killing him in battle but when it came down to her specifically ordering it and seeing it done she could never follow through
As much as I hate Cersei and love Tyrion - what she said about Tyrion came true. He (although involuntarily) led to the end of Lannisters. He killed his father and ended up being the hand to the targerian queen who would eventually destroy King’s landing and burying the remaining 2 Lannisters. He became the exact thing Cersei predicted
Cersei: pretentious, egotistical, power-drunk, malevolent, vindictive, cruel, and vile. “…not a monster,” my ass. She was the very definition of what a monster is. So she loved her kids, big deal, as if that single trait removes all blame for all the horrible crap that many so called “mothers” do. That’s no justification or get out of jail card. Irresponsible also, let’s not forget. She never took responsibility for her own catastrophic actions. Rage owned and consumed her. My biggest disappointment I went away with, was not that the last season flopped in retaining character background and development, but that Cersei didn’t get to face the punishment that she deserved. Great acting and story writing, for her role and character anyhow. Closest to pure evil I’ve ever seen in a character who never even tries to take the path of redemption; the fact that she did love her children was her only saving grace from being pure evil.
