Hi Bernd, super Tutorial, vielen Dank! Mir ist noch aufgefallen, dass die GItarre kopflastig ist und (mir) ständig rechts vom (rechten) Oberschenkel rutschen will. Das ist sicherlich auch der matten Oberfläche geschuldet. Heißt, ich muss sie festhalten (blockiere mir damit die linke Hand). Oder ich gurte mich an. Oder ich drücke den Hals soweit nach unten, dass der Kopf seinen Schwerpunkt positiv verlagert. Allerdings wird es dann ungemütlich für die linke Hand. Ich hatte mir nochmal die baugleiche AS73 kommen lassen. Die istHochglanz lackiert und "klebt" besser. Jedoch bleibt das Ungleichgewicht (Kopflastigkeit) und die Tendenz, nach rechts wegrutschen zu wollen. Am besten waren die bauähnlichen Gretsch-Gitarren; die sind perfekt austariert.
I have been looking at the Epiphone semi-hollow guitars but they are all ply wood! so ok they put a fancy spin on it but they are not solid-wood built.. well done Ibanez!
Pretty nice guitar. I have one, but when I bought it, the input jack was loose and it doesn't stay in tune very well. Other than that, it sounds great.
Replacing the jack is super easy, even if you've never soldered before. And a lot of tuning issues come from friction at the nut. Putting a bit of graphite in the nut slots can help a lot. The nut itself may need to be worked on a bit.
This video shows clearly if you know how to play you can make a cheap guitar sound fantastic, and it does. Similarly if you have a very expensive guitar and cannot play then the noise will not sound like BB King. Its that simple. Practice makes perfect. Also guitars made anywhere in the world ALL use the same CNC manufacturing equipment and software programs, China. USA, Japan. Indonesia etc. Its just that labour costs are lower and so the final price is lower than Gibson. Also quality control is much better in the east than the west. Practice is the key. Ibanez and Epiphone make great es335s👍

I just bought one, the spec is actually improved. More... Towards Freddie King, Dennis Greaves sounds though... Maybe it's got better hardware now, but the pickups are further away from jazz, I feel, really. Wonderful review!🍀
Your review is the best! I bought this guitar used, and it had a neck repair, so I had to have a luthier intonate it; that was quite the task. At any rate, my dumb ass sold it after I bought a Grote jazz guitar (which is killer), but I get upset that I didn't keep it. It is such an easy guitar to play.

Hey ich dieses Teil auch zu Hause, als meine Blues Gitarre. Ich liebe sie. Und weil sie so geil trocken klingt, habe ich ihr das LR Buggs Lyrik Microfon eingebaut, und nun hab ich obendrein noch einen richtig schön dreckig klingenden Natursound. Wie Du sagst, sie liegt super in der Hand, und ist für den Preis echt sauber verarbeitet. Ich stehe auch auf Naturnahe Lackierungen, und das war auch ein Grund warum ich mir sie erwählt hab. Meine ist made in Indonesia. Ich würde für diese Gitarre auch gerne ein paar Hunderter drauf legen, damit die Arbeiter dort auch vernünftig leben können. Vergleichen mit meiner PRS Hollowody SE 2 Piezo macht klanglich keinen Sinn. Ein Einzylinder Motor ist anders als ein Vierzylinder. Aber für alle die etwas mit Charakter suchen, ist die Ibanez ein Versuch wert. Dein English ist super. Du verwendest glücklicherweise nur Worte, die ich auch verstehe :-) Alles Gute ;-)
Jeezis does this guy actually like the guitar tone at 1:10? It sounds like the Scorpions and Iron Maiden shit in a bucket and and rammed the resulting mess through a cheap amplifier.
Hey Bernd, I was thinking of buying this guitar used. You mentioned the pickups being okay. If I was to spend the money I saved + some extra on some new pickups, which would you recommend?
First of all, thanks for the review. Certainly a lot of guitar for the money. I do have one minor complaint about something you said though; you kinda dismissed the Les Paul guitar as "not for jazz". Are you aware that Les Paul WAS a jazz player, & designed the guitar specifically FOR Jazz? (I. E. His playing style)

Apparently AM93QM is another less expensive model. No idea the difference between AM and AS series. Maybe your local guitar shop would sponsor some videos and lend you some of these models.
Excellent video. :) My enquiries are 1) Will the RG 8 provide a smooth jazz guitar sound, as well for chord melody playing and light classical repertoire ? 2) If I plug the RG 8 into a Boss GT-001 Affects Processor, will the guitar give me that "smooth jazz guitar" sound like in the video below ? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hDak3vLRTtY.html 3) 2) I will use. .10 gauge flat wounds. Hi Bernd, In regards to pickups and these type of low-end Ibanez, my first hollow body was an Ibanez AF55. After time and only having a Fender Champion amp I got fed up with the tone. So I got a local luthier to put a set of Tone Riders Alnico 2 an 4. Better. But soon after purchased a Roland JC22 Amp. Better. Then I purchased a Boss Katana 50, which I keep at 25w. Now the tone is very nice in either amp. In my opinion the pickups, at this price level of Ibanez guitars, are not good for mellow jazz or mellow blues.
