I run the website www.2loud2oldmusic.com and have for the last 8 years. I decided it was time do some videos. I cover music that is in my collection and with well over 2,000 pieces and growing rapidly every month, I felt it was time to show it off. Plus, since I have more music than I could ever listen to in my life, this gives me a chance to touch it one more time and remember everything that is in the collection. I hope you enjoy!
Hi John… great stuff ! My #1 and #2 are the same as yours. I spun Toys In The Attic yesterday. So good. I also like Done With Mirrors. You are right it does have that rawness to it. I finally got Pump on vinyl recently. I’m only missing Just Push Play on vinyl. I don’t think it was ever released on vinyl so hopefully a reissue will come . Not my fav album by them but gotta have it. One thing I’m always on the look out for is that Box of Fire boxset with their studio albums on cd. Thank you John. Chez
@@Thunderstruckzzz hey Chez! I need those two as well on vinyl so hopefully I wi find them one day. And I need the Box of Fire too. I don’t ever see it out in the local shops. Someday. They need to start doing some deluxe edition sets one day.
I was in middle school when Pyromania was released and Def Leppard became my favorite band. But then it took over 4 years for this album to come out. By the time Hysteria came out, I had graduated high school and was in the army. I was into Maiden, Priest and Metallica and I looked down my nose at this pop-metal crap. I did my best to avoid this album (which was really hard because it got played a lot on the radio) I bought it earlier this year on vinyl and gave it a closer listen. I'm not Mr. my-music-must-be-heavier-that-yours anymore. Y'know what? This album is pretty damn awesome. And since I purposely avoided it for 37 years, I can listen to it without getting tired of it like some other albums I've overplayed. (the aforementioned Priest, Maiden and Metallica albums).
Hi John… excellent ! I have my vinyl from the boxset, 30 anniversary vinyl, 2cd 25 anniversary cd, my original cassette and The Live In The Round dvd. I am still kicking myself for not getting the boxset. I really want that in the round on cd. There is a 3cd version of the album with In The Round show that I still might get. Same with the singles boxset. I’m upset I didn’t jump on that when I had the chance. I’m a fan of the album. I played it this morning for the anniversary. I love when boxsets have those discography books of pressings from around the world. The Police have a section like that in the Synchronicity boxset. Thank you John. Have a great weekend ! Chez
@@Thunderstruckzzz I’m liking the Police box set. And yes, having in the round on cd is awesome. I have watched the video so many times I was thrilled to get the cd. Now I can crank it on the stereo. Thanks for watching.
Very nice haul as always. That test pressing from Noble is amazing, hang on to that thing because those don't get out much at all. And glad you're enjoying A Matter Of Life and Death, it's a splendid album.
Another month of some real gems added to the collection. Not a cassette guy but cool Coverdale/Page tape. The VH one looks really good..I'm sure at some point I will grab that. Cool find on the KISS debut. Glad you're digging Maiden's AMOLAD.
A Matter Of Life And Death is a fantastic album. Glad you like it. Death On The Road is not bad either. My preferred way to experience the Dance of Death tracks.
Hi John..great haul ! I also picked up the Ghost cd and the Van Halen deluxe boxset. The Ghost sounds really good . I hope Van Halen keeps doing deluxe versions of their albums. I agree I don't like when the cds are not in sleeves in the boxsets. I just got the new Police boxset and it does have the cds in their own sleeves. Honeymoon Suite is great ! Check out their new album from this year. Its really good. Thank you John. Looking forward to your Hysteria video. Chez
@@Thunderstruckzzz Hey Chez. The Ghost is awesome. Great live show. And my Police box set showed up right after I finished filming the show and you are right. It has a sleeve for the CDs thankfully. I hope you enjoy the Hysteria show.
Great one John...I had Hair of the Dog by Nazareth on 8-track. During the title track, I still miss the CLICK when it switched tracks in the middle of the song...I still expect to hear it. Record Clubs...I was in Columbia House but always got albums from them.
Thanks so much for watching. I remember that click well!! That was the strangest thing about 8 Tracks. I did the cassette and CD Columbia House all the time.
I remember riding my BMX bike 10 miles to pick this up the week it came out (on vinyl). My 2nd favorite, behind The Warning. I am still more of a fan of the 1st 4 albums than any of them.
Very nice video guys. Rage is one of my favorite Ryche albums, I love pretty much everything on it, only the cover song gets on my nerves depending on what side of the bed I wake up on. It really was something that didn't sound like anything else at the time and that they didn't really replicate again, very unique stuff.
Deak opened this chat exactly the same as he did with the Warning reaction, saying he bought it on cassette because it was cheaper than vinyl , and then he goes on to rhyme off the records that came out then. There's nothing wrong with that of course, but I thought that I was going crazy 😊.
Originally I HATED Unmasked. I thought the cover was stupid and the songs were too poppy…but over the years I’ve grown to really appreciate it and I put it on pretty often when I’m in the mood for KISS
It’s a real bummer David Coverdale doesn’t own those early Whitesnake albums because I have a new appreciation for them and getting expanded boxsets would be amazing!
A right royal spend up (as we say in good ol' London) - you must have had to throw your smalls away to make room in your suitcase! 😊 Some great stuff there - especially the Kix album - still play it today....
Absolutely love the debut, which I have along with the 12" single version of "Fantasy". Also loved Subject, but not quite as much as the debut. Only really liked one song on Twitch ("Fallen Angel") and Blood On The Bricks was a trainwreck (not a Bon Jovi fan) and that was the last thing I bought or heard from him.
Nice one John. I really like the first 3 Aldo albums. I remember buying Aldo's Dream in the late 90s and being really disappointed but it's good to see he's back putting out more new music.
Thanks Steve. Yeah Nova's Dream was vastly different...cool that he experimented but a tough one to like. What I love about his new stuff is the quality is great. 40+ years later and he's still doing it well.
Hey Max! Thanks for watching! Glad you got to learn about some other releases of his that you may have missed. I love Subject so there is one for you to check out. Thanks again!
Hi John...I'm a major fan also. The debut is my fav all time album but Subject is just decimal points behind. I often play them back to back. Eddie Gage is awesome. So many great songs on there. Thank you John. Chez
@@2loud2oldmusic it took me a while to get into Novas Dream back in the day. There was no promotion for it. I stumbled across it in a cd store. I also bought the new version. I like the album more these days. He is so talented !
I'm with you on the remix thing, it's not a selling point for me. I've never chased after albums that have been remixed, I'm very fine with a simple remaster. I would much prefer to just hear the album as I remember it, correcting the master a bit for modern technology is fine. But that said these are some super cool boxes. I have the Little Box O' Snakes and it's fantastic for getting the early stuff. Of the deluxe album versions I would really want Slide It In more than anything but I don't currently have any of these on my radar.
Cool video. I have several of these. I usually go for the 2CD versions of the later albums rather than the huge box sets. I find all the truly essential listening martial included on those.
@@kenfrederick6223 thanks so much. I really love those evolution disc and that is what makes it worth it for me. I love to see how a song transitioned over time. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for taking me to a journey through the last 8 years of my life, when I delivered a lot of the stuff shown in the books and videos that purplesnake used for these fanmade videos :-)
@@Snakehead1964 that is really cool you got to be involved in these sets. They are awesome. David knows how to do a proper box set. Thanks for watching.
Nice one again John! I only need one set which is Still Bad. Hopefully will have it taken care of in 2 weeks. I think Slip is the box set to beat personally.
Even though Slip isn't my favorite, it has more cool stuff so you might be right. And I don't think it has a Remix CD which I hate. Thanks for watching.
@@2loud2oldmusic It's the Vai factor. As I told Deke many times, I'm a Vai guy whereas he is a Sykes guy. I liked Vai long before I knew who Whitesnake were.
Hi John...great stuff ! I have 3 of the box sets you showed. I have Box o Snakes , Whitesnake (1987 ) and Slide It In. For the others I have the 2 cd editions plus all the vinyl he released with those sets. I would love a Coverdale/Page boxset. Coverdale definitely knows how to do a boxset. I heard one of the next ones might be his solo album Into The Light. Cool stuff John. Thank you. Chez
We definitely need that Coverdale/Page box set, but I will take Into the Light as I really liked that album. Now, I missing a lot of the vinyl for the new releases. I have everything up to Coverdale/Page but missing probably 3-4 after that one.
Thanks. I don't want to spend all my time talking Kiss, but they are one of the biggest parts of my collection. That and Jeff Scott Soto which I haven't even started talking about him yet!!
Hi John. Nice haul. I agree that KISS Gold is absolutely one the best, if not the best, KISS compilations available. I may have to pick up Poison - Native Tongue on vinyl. I currently don't have any Poison on vinyl. Kix - Blow My Fuse is so good. Last month I picked up the album Streets - 1st (with Steve Walsh on vocals) at a record and CD festival in Jacksonville, FL. Now, I'm back on a Kansas kick again, so I will have to pick up Tim's book soon.
Thanks so much. Glad you agree on that Kiss Gold. I think we are right. Don't know Streets so will look that one up. Kansas is a great band to be on a kick again!! Despite being in it, I haven't finished the book yet. Don't tell Tim!! Shhh...But love it so far. Thanks for watching.
Wow, you really lucked out in the vinyl department for June! You have to wonder, though, what Poison would've been like if Richie Kotzen stayed in the band.
You can't have my Journey one, sorry!! As far as the Kiss CDs, I never bought the comps, but when I started collecting again, I was focused on vinyl. Now that is pretty much complete, my focus is the CDs and cassettes now. Thanks for watching.
@@2loud2oldmusic There are a ton of CD comps... The Best Of Kiss (Green Series) (2008), Playlist Your Way (2008), Legends of Rock (2009), Superstar Series (2009) (All on Universal) None worth playing!
@@GrabAStackofRocK We should do a Kiss Comp show!! The ones you mentioned I still don't have (The Playlist Your Way is basically the 20th Century Master 3 Volume set, I believe - which I have all 3 of those).
Great episode John. That is absolutely the debut Journey album, and I think it's fantastic. You actually have me curious about a Bon Jovi album for the first time in...ah, forever? I need to get that Native Tongue vinyl. Great finds. And thank you very much for your kind words about the Kansas book, not to mention, thank you for taking part.
Thanks Tim! I have been enjoying the early Journey. So different, but so good. And great pun!! The Bon Jovi album is not as bad as I was expecting...but don't take that as I am saying it is good yet until I do the review. LOL!!
Hi John...great haul ! I also picked up the Rik Emmett and Bon Jovi vinyl and cds. The Rik Emmett cd comes with 2 extra tracks that I wish they would have put on the vinyl too . I'm really liking the Bon Jovi. One of his better ones in a while. Tim's book is fantastic ! It was great to be part of it. That Kiss Alive cd box is great ! I play it quite often. Wow Badlands and Kix vinyl ! Fantastic ! I also picked up the Poison Native Tongue on vinyl. It sounds great ! Thank you John. Chez
Hey Chez! You and I have very similar taste in music. I need the Rik CD now for those two tracks. I have to admit I don’t hate the new Bon Jovi album. Need more listens but not bad. Tim’s book is great. I haven’t finished it yet. Thanks for watching.
Hi John… great stuff ! Even though I have most of Billy Idols solo catalog I don’t have any GenX. It doesn’t show up around here. I think the first album you showed was reissued recently but I can’t seem to track a copy down now. You definitely have me wanting to explore this catalog. Thank you. Chez
I love their first album, my choice for best album of 78. Ready Steady Go is one of my all time favorites. The only other record of theirs I have is the "4" EP (12", 45 RPM, blue cover, black label) which came out around the same time as Kiss Me Deadly. It has an extended version of Dancing With Myself, Untouchables, Rock On & King Rocker. Never saw them live but did see Billy when he first went solo. How about doing one about the Vibrators?
Thanks so much for watching. I need to find that “4” ep. Thanks for letting me know that one. I don’t have any Vibrator albums so will need to check them out.
