i suppose some people can read it and others cant. that's fine, but the concept still stands by itself. as long as you understood the concept i was trying to get across, then that's what matters.
@knighthawk5097 no problem at all 😊 I think that the machines that are compatible with disposables usually make both. I don't think I've actually seen any companies make a kind of universal disposable grip. I could be wrong though. Might be something for me to look into though
Working at a tattoo shop I certainly see people requesting photos a lot. However I can attest do Photographers doing more than “pressing a button”. If all it took was that, anyone could do it. But only few actually are talented enough like this Miles Davis Photographer.
Youd be surprised with some photographers, most of them do just push a button. Others actually put work into that one perfect shot. But Would you agree that his work is worth what he says it is? I think anyone wanting that amount of money for a picture they took is genuinely mentally ill and should seek help. I can not justify that amount of money for something that would have taken him no more than a few minutes to take.
@@PHughesTattoo Try to see it from an art gallery’s perspective. They want the money and this photo made them a lot of money. Regardless of how long it took for him to create, this photo Has made a lot of money for the photographer and art galleries etc. It’s all about the money and this photo is very valuable. Regardless of how much you like it. Besides that I liked your video and I think if people can sue over tattoos that easily it will make things too messy.
Don't get me wrong I do see it your way. I just don't think that it's worth this for a picture. I do like the photo but the way I look at it is, it's not the mona Lisa that took months, if not years to paint. The effort should reflect the price in my eyes. And as someone who is around cameras a lot lately, I just don't see how anything I could possibly take a photo of could ever in a million years be worth that much. I just think everyone these days are after that big pay day and its greed. That's just my perspective on the matter. I get how other people can have a difference of opinion though.
Bro just watch video and the 0 and 1 method has helped me so much with my flow and consistency ! Definitely hit the bell on this page keep helping us artist!
@@PHughesTattoo I did, your 'whole' video just makes fun of the guy's a) job b) looks c) videos like it changes anything about the shitty tattoo he reviewed in the first place. You also argue that the original tattoo is bad because it's a fine line tattoo but google "Ivan Zagusta head tattoo" (google deletes links in comments) and come back to me how it's not a fine line head tattoo that's executed perfectly. Lastly, I found this video because Jon was talking shit about other tattoos on youtube and I wanted to find who that guy even is - so you can't even argue that you cannot be harsh about other artist's tattoos since the guy does the same kind of videos.
@GuitarHello ok so what you wanted in the video is for my to shit on John for not being the best at doing head tattoos or being as good as someone else, regardless of how difficult head tattoos are? Ivan might be able to do fineline head tattoos but that is irrelevant to the issue in the video so that point is invalid. Sorry for not having a channel where I just shit talk everyone else but it's not that kind of channel. I just think that some who obviously had no idea what he was talking about shouldn't be commenting about tattoo Artists work when they aren't one.
@@PHughesTattoo as I've said - Jon Nelson is also talking shit about other artists in RU-vid so he better be ready for a response from other people. That tattoo was shit and I'd love for the industry to grow up enough to admit when that's the case...
If you recall in the video I did say that it was not a good tattoo. But the design itself was a good one. It was executed very poorly. But im not about shitting on people for giving it a go. I leave all that asshole like behaviour to other people. I just think that julian really wasn't someone to talk about what's good or bad in any way. I'm not disagreeing with your point of view on Jon. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. But my video was basically pointing out that you have to know what you're talking about before voicing those opinions because julian just made himself sound stupid. He could have gone about it a different way. The styles that julian used as reference to prove his point wasn't even the same type of tattoo and in my professional opinion were easier to tattoo than Jon's tattoo so his point was still irrelevant. Now if julian was a lot more consistent with his content and talking about tattoos or had different types of tattoos or even got tattooed by artists who do different styles then I'd understand. But he was in no place to talk about anyone's tattoos.
Good video...I think that machines with a flying wheel inside are not the best and most durable at least I have heard that from other people and machines...I was also thinking about buying the machine or rather an FK Irons One...here are batteries to change and it is also of higher quality...with the 3mm stroke you can also do a lot I think because it has a lot of power...well I have to think carefully about which one I should get Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪
Personally I think it's a good machine I also have the FK zion which is wired. I had it about 4 years and its only just started to rattle a little bit. So I more than just got my money out of it. But as far as machines go, in my opinion you can't go wrong with either the GRAND or the zion but I suppose a lot of it is down to personal preference too and the kind of thing that you're wanting out of your machine. I hope you when It comes to it you love the machine you pick. I suppose a good thing about the emalla is that you can completely strip it down to the motor for maintenance and that's always a plus. Much love and thanks for commenting and watching my videos!
There's an option to smooth the brush if you edit the specific brush you want to use. I set mine pretty low as I'm so like feeling in control of how it looks but the more you turn it up the smoother it gets. Hope this helps!
Yeah I totally agree. I suppose sometimes it is hard to know how much is an acceptable amount to change something without changing it too much, but still being able to stay on the safe side of a copyright infringement case.
New to the channel, which is top notch btw. As you know, tattooing takes up a lot of your free time during the design/research process. I think the back lash is a resulting from people thinking that his content creation (which also requires a massive amount of time) is the priority vs executing the appropriate/clean tattoo for that location. Glad though the issue has become a learning experience. Cheers.
Well thank you very much! And yeah I can see exactly what you mean. He does spend a lot of time on content creation and you can't always be the actor and director at the same time and produce good content. I think he'd benefit from trying to find a good middle ground between content creation and tattooing. But whichever one you chose to be your main priority is going to mean that the other falls into the background a little. Thanks for commenting, I really liked this point of view 😊
Yeah I've actually been trying to shoot another video for the capital letters for the past 3 weeks but for some reason the ipad isn't playing ball. And I use that for the screen recording. But hopefully I'll have it fixed and sorted this week so I can shoot the new video this week
If the top of the f was looped then the top of the loop should be at capital letter height. But seeing how I didn't loop it, I chose to bring it down to accommodate for the flourishes and filigree above so that it could flow from the t and l uninterrupted. Thanks for noticing though not a lot of people would have done.
Hahaha first off, if you watched the actual video I said it was fake. And yeah I only have 5000 followers but that's still 4996 more than you 😄. Plus I'm not the kind of person who watches the first 5 seconds and feels like I have enough information to comment. But thanks for the engagement on the video 👍
Watch the full video before commenting dude! You just made yourself look stupid. He actually says that it's fake in the full video if you watched it. Also why bring up his subs? He's got more than you
So personally I only use an app called procreate for the iPad Pro. But I know a lot of other artists use other apps and programs like photoshop. But the concept would work no matter what the program really. As long as you can draw on it, it's a good app/program. Thank you for watching my videos 😊
I actually did that with the technical pen in the inking folder. I turned the size of the pen up and just changed my pressure of my hand on the pen rapidly as I drew the lines.
Ive seen a few other head pieces hes done in the same style and theyve all been pretty damn clean . Every artist can have a bad day and all have screwed a line up here and there, its impossible to do every tattoo perfect .
I've seen the exact same thing and I couldn't agree more. I think people just expect us to be perfect all the time, but we're only human at the end of the day.
Thank you so much. I'm so happy you like my videos! And Thank you for watching and commenting. I should be bringing out another lettering one in the future so hopefully you like that one too.
@@PHughesTattoo i am pretty sure i will like it. to me its the real deal to learn from you, i always struggled in a few things i now know how to solve and its also relaxing to watch you make it grow together. you can count on support in the future. normally i dont activate the bell and stuff like that :D
Thank you so much. These are the kind of comments that keep this channel going. I appreciate your support and your kind comments immensely. So thank you very much
Straight line or not, the tattoo still looks very good.. I like it a lot! It even has that perspective effect done good enough, that you speficially notice it.
Its good to see all of the positive comments. We should all support each other instead of trashing each others work. I hope that Jon see's these comments so that he knows its not everyone who thinks its a bad tattoo. A lot of people, including myself like this tattoo.
UPDATE!! So... since I posted this video, Julian has now taken these videos down from TikTok. I think he may have realized that not everyone felt the same as him about the tattoo.
Thank you very much! its good to know that people agree. I just don't think its right that Jon got attacked online for 1 tattoo when his portfolio of tattoos has actually been good work. it doesnt make him a bad artist. thanks for watching my videos and commenting, it means a lot.
it gets a little odd when people have to go "well actually it's not that bad of a tattoo" like I don't think it's horrendous but the design and placement maybe weren't a good match, hard style to put on that type of surface and Jon probably like you said isn't about the head tattoo life like some of the other examples.
Well put. I just think this guy was looking to make a bit of a name for himself by trash talking the tattoo. I checked his tiktok today and it turns out he's actually deleted the video where he talks about the head tattoos.
@@habanero6332 Thank you very much! haha I was hoping that it was a good comment 😅 Thankyou for watching my video and commenting. it always means a lot to me
@@PHughesTattoo I hear you. I am trying to get the courage to put mine on. Your videos are great and you have a lovely calm voice.. Nothing at all to worry about. I cannot watch loud high pitched shouting videos. I have a number of friends who are tattoo artists and I wanted to do it but life got in the way.
@habanero6332 you should do. Courage is something we all have, it's only our inner selves that talk us out of it. And thank you so much. I have to admit I always get a bit of anxiety before I upload in case the video doesn't do well. But it's people like you who in the comments who help me to upload each time. So your comments mean more to me that you will all ever know. And your time will come. Sometimes life just throws you an opportunity at the right time. You'll accomplish everything you want. All you need is that push.
Wouldn’t you want to reverse the distortion knowing it’s on the head to make it come out straight? Technically he should’ve pre-emptively planned for that unless it was a last minute switch up - with that being said… I can hardly draw a straight stick-man and only have like 14 tattoo’s so idfk hahaha
I think it's always hard to figure out how it's going to warp and distort. So it wouldn't really be worth it. I genuinely just think that jon hasn't thought about it or maybe it's something he's overlooked it. But I'm not jon so I couldn't really say.
I think getting better at drawing is more about being able to identify what you don't like about you own drawing and what is different/ missing. I think once you can identify those things then you start to see improvement. Hope this helps. I know it seems like something pretty obvious but it's something people (including me) rarely think about, so it's usually my only advice for getting better.
@6footrandom556 no problem 😊 so I'm using a gen 2 ipad Pro. They're good to use as it's a lot easier to play around with ideas and change things without all the mess.
The fastest way to fame is to bash someone on social media, and Julian does exactly that. And holy moly! Fricking 35 bucks for a plastic-looking mushroom?? Guy’s clearly delusional😐
Yeah exactly, it takes a bit of a sad person to try to gain fame from making people feel bad about themselves. And I think delusion is exactly the word haha 😄 but then he has a straight face while talking smack about someone else's work haha. It's just baffling.
Yeah exactly, youre totally right. I think it's because he's not an artist that he doesn't understand this. Trashing doesn't help anyone and it just makes you look like a bit of an Ahole. Which is exactly the case in this situation
Yeah, it sucks when you've got a really nice tattoo to do and you get half way through and they start dancing haha 😄 you just know that it's not going to be worth an Instagram picture
