Ah wow…so glad someone recorded this and I can’t believe it. I was just thinking about this set and searched it on a whim. My first EDC ever, I was 23 and this set and neon garden that year are one of those life altering moments that I won’t ever forget. 11 years ago…I can’t believe how time flies. So glad I got to experience this when I did, right at the tail end of the time period when the edc maps were paper and cell service was limited at best to text only. Good times. Thanks for the upload!
Wow this is an amazing set with amazing visuals. I was there, and in 2013 I couldn't grasp the set style, and watching this in 2020 I can fully appreciate this set with the EDC visuals. Looking to hear similar sets from Sasha and Digweed.
I remember queuing up outside Venue44 in Mansfield going into Renaissance to see Sasha spin for hours upon hours until 8am. One night he played Abba 'Dancing Queen' at the end as the lights came up. Saw Spooky and all the original Guerilla records acts there. I chatted to him one night towards the end of the Mansfield run and he reeled all the tracks they couldn't get clearance for the Mix Collection. I'm pleased to say I own them and all of those that made the cut. I probably need to figure out how to upload them, as barely any of them of them are on RU-vid.
Thanks for the upload. I love JD... if the younger crowd doesn't know who John Digweed is they may as well be lost...a true pioneer. Same with if you need drugs or to be drunk to enjoy this mix then you aren't meant to listen to it... bottom line.
i was so stubborn to give some new artist a listen but acts like Umek , Nero, Skrillex, Diplo ( just to name a few randoms) have finally caught my ear=) but i forever be found in the stage where Digweed, Sasha, lawler, Hawtin, Dubfire or Vonstroke is playing before any others!!!! Legends!
Techno stuff coming back soon. It goes in cycles just as hard rock camed back from the death. People just need to get tired of the current hardstyle crap and we'll see new techno material on main stream soon. It just maybe have to ad some more harmonies sometimes to please the crowd.
Hey man, you are awesome for recording that. The 1-2hr radio sets he plays are great, but nothing close to what he's like in the Clubs. This 1hr set you've recorded is by far the best recorded set I've heard so far. This is vintage Digweed. I've been listening to Diggers since the late 90's when he was a monthly resident at Twilo with Sasha. Every last friday of the month for 3 years. Toward the end of the Twilo era Sasha sustained an injury to his eardrum and Digweed was solo at Twilo every month for almost a full year. He was ridiculous on his own. Relentless and down-right amazing. Sometimes he would keep playing till 10:00 a.m. and just abusing the Phazon Sound System with a barrage of Bass Pounding track after track, that made the entire lower end of Manhattan pulsate. Digweed is the best Club DJ in the world! Period. I've heard them all, including Tiesto this past weekend... There's nothing like 3hrs of total darkness, no flashy screens and lasers, just darkness and a beat to guide your soul home!
Sorta dad that Electronica has evolved to the point of Digweed is now considered unconventional. Hes a fucking Legend, beyond so many mainstream DJ's of today. In fact, he and others like him laid the foundation for the pop DJ's you here now. All of you should bow and respect him . Fuck your comments about people not dancing to him.
Is that why Hardwell was at the mainstage and John Digweed wasn't? I see no one dancing in this video. Everyone dances to Hardwell. So don't talk shit about other DJ's. I love every DJ out there. John Digweed is one, yes, but Hardwell is in my favorites list, and so is Krewella.
