@Cease AndDesist my immediate family.we of course celebrate Passover read the Haggadah etc and of course the other holiday. My inlaws spoke Ladino and were Kohanim. We had the typical Sedar plate hid the Matzah etc. And made it fun for the young children let them participate with prayer and songs to keep them interested. The main course was a Kosher brisket and Turkey with fried fish. 😋 My side is Ashkenazi not Kosher but we still had a seder plate. .

Cupcake, the "popular" perception that the usual Ashkenazi look is "white European" that features pasty white skin, blond or red hair, blue or green eyes, plus the eye shapes and nose shapes typical of "Aryan" northern, eastern and western Europeans (like many Slavs and Germanic people have) is GARBAGE. From what I gather, these video clips and webpages are posted by people who seem justifiably tired of and frustrated at the pervasive notion -- held even by many Jews -- that the "Ashkenazi look" is "white European", For my part, I am also fed up with the Ashkenazi Jews who get dismayed when they find out that I am of Ashkenazic extraction but I dislike Yiddish and do not like to use it. We are consenting grownups; and the fact I was born to Ashkenazic parents does not mean that I and they have to like and speak Yiddish (as much as this seems weird to Ashkenazic Yiddish enthusiasts).
