Definitely cool of you to address the SNAFU from last month. I want to also mention that the magazine retrieved from behind the firing line should not be able to be used because it is gear that was in hand upon the start. This was called out at recent NRL22X match when a squad mate forgot their pump pillow behind the line and was not allowed to retrieve it.

You make a very valid point about the mag left on the table, it was out of play. In hindsight, I guess I should’ve just re-filmed that stage, it was an option.. but, on the other side of the coin I think it’s good to show mistakes. Some of the comments brings up a thought I’ve had on occasion. If we all are chasing maximum accuracy, but environmental conditions easily erase any little accuracy advantage, it might be significant to analyse ballistic coefficient differences. I don’t suppose the BC difference would be great, but as long as we are obsessing, knowing which bullet is more stable in the wind might be at least interesting.

Talk about an expensive rabbit hole… 99% of us would be better off making rational choices first. What brand and grade of ammo is commonly available to me? How much of my family’s financial future am I willing to spend on this frivolous nonsense? How much of my limited time am I willing to steal away from my family, and the other aspects and commitments in my life, to obsess about group sizes? Theoretically, a person should extensively lot test every match grade ammunition available. For instance, I might test a single box of Eley Match, a single box of Lapua Center X, and a single box of RWS R50. In those single samples the RWS may shoot the best in my rifle. But if I got 10 different lots of each of those same brands, I may find that several of the lots of both Eley and Lupua shot way better in my rifle that any of the lots of RWS. 🤯
