Unfortunately, I never got resolution for this and Go Pro customer service was terrible. The only way forward is a lawsuit with GoPro which takes time and money, or learning how to reprogram these yourself which I’ve not been successful in doing. I have two drones that just sit in a closet myself, I hope that one day I could at least use the hardware and learn how to re-program the drone using other software.
What if I bought a car and one morning I try to start it, and it will not start. I call the maker and all they say is that it is the 'end of life' for the product. Are you kidding? Can you just do that? Is this lawful. that a company can just end the life of a product? Overnight? Any lawyers out there?
did you ever get a work around for this? dug my drone out of storage and all i have now is a light show of a paper weight. only ever flew it a few times and would love to get it back in the air
Go pro KARMA team give no fuck as is them who did this update. What you have to do is do not update any more. Pair it with different remote that doesn't belong to your drone and it will work. What they did is updated it not to pair with already known controller.

Best thing to do is keep the GoPro and gimbal and throw everything out and buy a DJI. Had my GoPro Karma for a while now and it has the same problem and no support for the fix other then, they want to sell you another one at a cheap price…… but why the hell would I give them anymore money when I spent like $1800 on it and have they have horrible Tec support and they can’t stand behind the product. Sorry GoPro but it will be the last time I get anything GoPro.

FatherFigure - did you get this resolved? I went through all the hoops with them and I'm a subscriber. Their only offer to me is that they'll replace the drone body for $129. They insist that they can't waive this even though it's obvious to all that they caused the issue. I did file a Better Business Bureau complaint but that's unlikely to have any impact. We need to get some big influencers who do reviews to notice and start doing videos about the issue.
Hello, no. In the end they refused to help because I don’t have a receipt and could not prove when I purchased although I don’t understand why that should matter if it suddenly stopped working after one of their updates
Ich habe das gleiche Problem. Ich werde der GoProService kontaktieren. Für GoPro ist Karma keine gute Werbung. GoPro-Kunden sollten nicht so behandelt werden!
Of course it's their update that screwed things up, same here, I have a mint condition karma drone which I flew very few times and now it won't connect.
How did this work out for you? In my case they kept agreeing with everything, but then asked if I still had the receipt, which I do not and refused to do anything.
@@Father.Figure I have the receipt. I provided everything to them, including the receipt and the video they insisted I make. They won't fix it unless I pay the $129 for a replacement. They actually asked me if I'd tried taking it apart to check for loose connections (which if I did, I'm sure they would they say that the issue is my fault for taking it apart)

Something else I just noticed is I don’t hold down the start button for 8 seconds on the drone, I only hold it down for a couple of seconds and the drone comes on and the camera and gimbal set and then I turn on the controller connects to the drone. Sometimes I don’t get enough satellites to launch but since I have lost satellite connection before I found that the drone is pretty stable without gps. So sometimes I fly without gps. I do not recommend this unless you know this heavy ass drone really well, but the motors on this drone are really strong.
I think I have had mine for at least 4 years and have always gone outside and turned the drone on first and waited for camera and gimbal to engage and then turn on the controller, and wait for them to pair that way. So far nock on wood, I have not had any problems.
Unfortunately, I have not. Go Pro customer service has been horrible. I play to engage in a Class Action Lawsuit, but I work so much I haven’t had time to prioritize it.
