This channel will focus on old and new computers, modifications and repairs. Despite not being eligible for adsense anymore, I will continue to make videos for you guys.
I know it`s old video but this setup is perfect for retro gaming, you can buy setup like this atleast in my coutry for about 25-30$ for complete machine, it runs cool and quiet.
I like the step going from a fully assembled computer to magically jumping to having the keyboard remove. I'll keep looking for the procedure to do that.
I still have a test PC with this processor and GTX660. But what you say is correct. Many newer games after 2016 no longer work because the instructions such as SSE4 are missing.
I just bought a similar kit.. looks like the same parts.. just a different name... PC-JMK6-ATX.......... and yes.. the instructions really suck..... The frames should have some etchings marks.. to align.. PSU and MoBo locations...... good job!!
Was cleaning the dust out of my laptop fans when my roommate dropped a cup of water straight down causing it to eject water all over the room… including on my open laptop. I unplugged the battery and dried everything off even going as far as putting paper towels in every corner or gap water could have possibly gone in. Tmo will be the 48h mark hopefully it still works.😢
Hello I know this is a little late but you seem to be the most recent comment I'm looking at getting one of these as a starter/father some build to spend time with my son im new to the pc building but understand a bit any advice or components list would be appreciated
I've got an x60s running XP. It's a superb machine. I also own it's daddy (sort of), an older 570 for running DOS... Bought as I was tempted to try putting DOS on the x60s but was not sure if the sound would work. Would love to know if anyone has tried this.
I tried replacing the i5-650 with a i7-870. It "works" but only one stick of ram will be detected in the 3rd slot from the CPU. If I try another slot I get a post beep code. I had a matched pair of PC3-14900 running fine with the i5-650. I removed them, tried the older ram I had in PC3-10600 with same result, I put back the i5-650... memory works fine in ANY configuration. Put the I7-870.. only one stick works. Seller sent me another i7-870, same issue. I just need 8GB so ordered a single 8GB module off Amazon..... finger's crossed. CPU and Memory can be returned... hoping I don't need to. Would be a big win for kid playing Minecraft. Rest of the PC specs: 650W corsair PSU 1060TI 6GB 256GB SSD 2x4GB PC3-14900 (DDR3-1866) or 4x2GB PC310600 thermal take CPU cooler.. dunno what model, but has 3x heat pipes and works well. Better than stock for sure. upgraded fans for cooling. Notes. Every time computer boots, it complains "memory decreased" BIOS current. Did factory reset in BIOS, no change.
How is it with youtube videos? I don't game on computers, I use the Playstation for that. I'm looking for a cheap card for a hp z820 that does good on videos. Can I watch a movie without the flickering I'm getting now?
Cool vid. I just bought a very similar setup for around £120. Same CPU, same motherboard, 64GB ECC RAM, 256GB M.2, a nice tower cooler, and a garbage Quadro GPU. I'm glad to see that you can actually game on this, the motherboard worries me tremendously! The plan is to pick up a cheap PSU, Case, and maybe a GTX 980 rather than a Radeon card, I find that Radeon cards around this era are - like you saw - very toasty, and there's really no benefit in choosing them over a 900 series or 1000 series Nvidia card. Hopefully get a build together for £200-250. Fingers crossed.
I have 3 T410s and run cloned SSD drives on all of them. But i run Linux mint and can easyaly clone the compleat hard drive with the OS set up the way I like it. i also keep a master SSD copy just in case a drive goes bad. If I lose a drive, i takes less than 15 minutes to swap to drive and be back in service. one thing you don't want to do is format and clone a SSD drive more than once. every time you remove data from a SSD drive and write over the disk, it shortens the life of the disk.
I’ve got one collecting dust with a few million of crypto on there.. lol I should air gap it and turn it back on. Encrypt the thing using new post quantum encryption beyond AES just released.
