i found one of these systems along with a dell optiplex3010 sff and instead of sticking with the FM1 socket that came with the HP i swapped the optiplex MB into the case to allow more room i then installed a windforce 970 4gb and a corsair 550watt power supply definitely going to keep modding thinking about cheap aio and another cheap motherboard to overclock it
Hey do you know any more info about PCs to help me with my own HP Pavilion P6?? I have this HP compaq, and its processor and ram are compatible with my pavilion, but I'm wondering if I could buy two 8gb sticks for the P6 and use that with a compatible GPU to have it run better than my compaq?
No, ofcourse you could do stuff like switch the power supply and get a better GPU that draws more power, add SSD, max ram. But going to cost more, and to play these games it's not necessary. Stick with the case, motherboard, ram (you can add more) and HDD. The rest you could switch depending on how much you want to spend.
Mine has the AMD A6-3620. I suppose that is equivalent to an I3. My specs says it can support 8g of ram. From Goog: "The AMD A6-3620 was a desktop processor with 4 cores, launched in December 2011. It is part of the A6 lineup, using the Llano architecture with Socket FM1. A6-3620 has 1 MB of L2 cache per core and operates at 2.2 GHz by default, but can boost up to 2.5 GHz, depending on the workload."
Hey i have this same pc and don’t have much experience with PCs i want to upgrade it and make it better for gaming is it possible for you to help me out a little more
@@hamzarahman9523 man i have an hp p6 with an i5 2400 and gtx 1050 doesnt work well,id doesnt change resolution,i read on internet that many people hav this issue
Hi I have this exact same computer but I’m having a hard time getting the computer to recognize the fact I’ve installed a GPU - Is there a setting or trick these old P6s need in order to install different GPUs?
Did it seat in correctly? I got a p6 for free and I popped in a gpu but I had to install it like three times fro it to recognize it, and also, check the BIOS if the PCIe x16 is enabled too
Veryclever1 I have tried reseating and seating numerous times and have tried PCI-E x16 security disable and enabled to no avail. You didn’t have to do any of the weird network boot other people had to do?
@@RickyBobby_USA I can't remember off my head using this specific computer (unless I switched the case), but It very likely would've been an HD 7850. 6-4 years ago that was what I used. Then I got an R9 380x and RX580 but by then I switched to Ryzen. Hope it helps.
