Mine also leaked but I got a few good uses before it went bad. That unit was bought like 15 years ago. They may be better now. They could also have gotten worse. A tool that beeps when it sniffs refrigerant can help detect a leak. HB also sells a cheap version of that tool and is great for finding refrigerant leaks in your car.
Thanks for this video, all cars does NOT stop when you do this! I'm a Mazda Mx5 NC owner. Some just keep running! Thanks anyway, this helps many people👍
Dude, I have watched a dozen videos on the subject tonight. You are head and shoulders above the rest of the content creators. You have an engaging personality and are easy to listen to and follow. You have a gift and new subscriber.
I don't know if this test depend on make and model. I have a Tucson and 3 MAF, one brand new and one 4 month old and the original one. I pull the connector and the the engine keeps running on all 3 test. This is the story: In the last couple of years the light and code P0171, P0171D, P0174 and P0174D start to show up, from occasionally to more frequently. At beginning I just erased the code and drove again because I did not feel any difference on the car running except the annoying and worrying light and code. But came to 2024 it happened to often so I bought a new MAF at beginning of February. It worked good and the light did not show up for 2 months. Then the light start to show up. I used the MAF cleaner to clean the two MAF. It helped a little but then no help at all. I searched a little deep and found that the MAF may have been contaminated by the permanent oil based air NK filter. So I got rid of it and used new regular air filter and also cleaned the duct and box. However, the light and code came on on daily basis on the two MAFs. So I bought the 3rd new MAF and Installed it today. On the testing this new MAF, the engine kept running after I pulled the connector, just as the same results as the two MAF. The first two might be bad anyway, and the chance the 3rd brand new one is also bad is low. I will see how long it can run good. Will update this once I have a consistent result.
My scantool shows code 21 and history code? I think it is 247? Which is only history? I have looked on Holden forums and its a dirty SDM problem especially in Australia because this was a old person's car who drove around Australia. So much dust( red dust) any reply appreciated cheers from Australia subbed and liked 👍
Im going to try this on my sons vx commodore. I just had the clock spring replaced the mechanical mob claimed that there 10 grand scantool couldn't connect? But there faces changed when i said my vident i400au scantool can clear everything except my ABS? Lol😂
Great instructional video. I was just wondering, after you open a faucet and get the pressure to zero on the gauge, will the tank also have zero pressure?
I went to AutoZone to get my engine diagnostic and it came up saying it was the MAF sensor but after trying your method my car did shut off when I unplugged it, so could it be that my sensor just needs to be cleaned???
I was watching a video on fixing a fan in my car when I noticed the name of the channel and assumed by the name you were a brother in CHRIST so I thought I'd take a closer look at your Channel.I never expected to see anything like this but having lost my wife and brother in the same year I understand that planning for the celebration of life can be very difficult. You did a wonderful job with this.Hope you don't mind a complete stranger commenting but this was done beautifully from an obviously loving family.
@@howardmiller6202 yes I am a brother in Christ. I got saved when I was eight years old. I am so sorry for the loss of your wife and brother. Life can be so hard. The loss of a loved one can be so difficult. We learned that Grief is just love with no place to go. We miss our daughter Rachel so much and the pain is still awful. We have been attending a faith base program called griefshare.org which has been helpful. God bless you.
Thank you Brother in Christ. Our FATHER has definitely given you the gift to explain things in a way that can be understood.Such a cool way to use this wonderful gift to serve HIM and HIS people.Blessings
There is a lot of bad information here. As for low pressure side pressure, from hearing experts they say generally , low side pressure is 1/2 ambient air temperature. So if its 90" out when adding gas low side pressure would be about 45. High side pressure 2 x ambient air temperature so at 90 degrees, high side would be up to 180 if your using a gauge set. But your car manufacturer likely gives the exact specs numbers they set per temperature. Also on purging this short line (generally with a short line like this they don't say anything about purging the line), but I believe that the can valve would need to be slightly opened just as connecting to low side to hear a hiss. Otherwise that line is open to atmosphere and will fill right back with air when valve is closed. Also, not holding can upside down. Can's says hold it 12 oclock position and shake/rotate from 12 to 3 oclock position meaning the top of the coolant gas can from straight up (12 noon to 3pm).
