This feels like one of those “more likely than not” type scenarios. Is it more likely Uli got jumped by 6 random guys from Norway, or is it more likely he had a few too many and ran his mouth to someone he shouldn’t have.
That’s actually shocking to hear negative feedback on the European championship. I just hope these people never get to make decisions for disc golf. One of the best events I’ve seen.
Brody begs for “story lines” and promotes drama, then ignores or refuses to discuss this. It’s his prerogative to choose the story/drama on his own channel, but…
I ran my mouth once, got my ass beat then called into work the next day saying I got jumped too. Especially when it's worded "one guy turned into 6 guys really fast". That means u FA'd and FO'd
I’m not going to speculate as to what happened. Uli deserves his privacy. I also advocate for sobriety on the course to help grow the sport. I get lots of flak for this, but I could care less. I don’t want to bring my kids out for a round of disc golf, just to have to deal with grumpy drunk old guys or weed smoke blowing all around the course. Do that stuff at home, and play better disc golf.
No. I'll go ahead and do what I want and let other grown ups make their own choices. I've smelled "weed smoke" at a multitude of locations, public and private, and have seen many "drunk grumpy" old guys at all kinds of locations. Maybe just keep the kid locked in the closet. And make sure they are triple boosted and masked at all times. Cheers, Vladimir.
I think as a whole- the Disc Golf community take themselves WAY too serious as it is. So the people upset with the lack info need a reality check. Do you expect ESPN to be talking about this? Its disc golf. He got his ass kicked in a fight, thats it.
To add to the "he deserves privacy" thing. Ask any other professional athlete if that holds up. You're a pro athlete. If shit goes down the fans (you know the people who help fund the sport and his career). Are gonna demand answers. It's simple you don't want people asking questions you have 2 choices. 1. Don't be a professional athlete 2. Don't put yourself in a situation that will cause people to ask questions to shit you don't wanna answer. It's so strange how people want them to be treated like professionals... Until they get treated like professionals
Dude this wasn't a paparazzi incident..You're saying if you got into a random bar fight that the public has the right to demand answers from you and you shouldn't be allowed to lay low and not comment.
@mikewrinkle8706 My career isn't being funded by the public. Nor is my decisions potentially putting worlds in tournaments. You are proving my point. Want them to be treated like pros until the moment they are. The only reason he can keep skating on the incident is because Disc Golf media is shit and won't press him cause it's all his buddies. Remove being a fan. Pick the QB of your favorite NFL team. You're telling me you wouldn't want answers as a fan to why he's not playing for an extended time? Miss me with that. You're literally defending a professional athlete doing something dumb and fucking up his season and people who LITERALLY help fund his career might want answers in the same. Lay low hahah don't get jumped in Norway then laying low doesn't have to be a problem.
@mikewrinkle8706 this also isn't us asking to see his baby, wife, mother, dog all of which are paparazzi type shit. We are asking what the fuck did you do to be in this situation? Why would you jeopardize your season and possibly career knowing you're already on the back 9 of your career? What's the full extent of the injury? Has there been any discipline from your sponsors? All sports related questions to a professional athlete. The dick riding for Paul on this shit is wild. Lay low. Deserves privacy. Hahaha miss me with that. Is this a real professional sport or not? Are they real professional athletes or not? Stop picking and choosing when they are and when they aren't.
@@DGDumpsterFire it’s not like he’s contracted to play, and seems to have still fulfilled his public duties as a commentator.. that’s akin to my favorite QB wearing an arm sleeve and me thinking I’m owed a reason as to why.. I could be curious and ask for a reason, but he nor the team owes me an explanation.
As a Scandinavian, I bet you Uli couldn't handle the alcohol, acted all American, and didn't understand, that this is not America, where you can talk shit because everyone is afraid of conflicts and probably weapons. Norway is a peace place, but because things have consequences... If you fuck around, you find out.. and a little fight isn't gonna kill nobody. A blue eye is just a sign you don't know how to act around peole
So what your are saying is that it takes 6 Norwegians to give one American a black eye. Got it. Ironically a .38 caliber revolver holds 6 rounds. Coincidence?
have met uli a few times, he's a total ass, so this is what i liike to call karma, either jumped or him prob being an ass, either way it's deserved karma, and him competing aganist calvin or gannon or ricky, or proctor, or dickerson, or klein, or the robinsons, or joey buckets, or mcbeth, or antilla, he's just wasting his time, irrelevant "competitor" who should just wait to play mp40 and fade away for good like cale leviska
For the record before alot of yall youngins came along to watch the DG ride Ulli was a force to be reakoned with! From the step putt in the circle to the pdga chamging the rules of the game cause how broke his putt made the game! Plus he also goes to C-Tier and A-Tier events like every weekend and has all kinds of win records and most events records and yeah, just cause he aint some bionic freak like Ricky and Paul that can still keep up w the new prodigies! People so new to the sport they didnt forget, they just never knew about Uli, same way they dont know the facts now so fill in the blanks with their own fictional stories and story lines!
Fuk all yall weak minded fools trashing Ulli, I used to get a vibe from him like he was that kinda guy but only ever heard the opposite! I mean everybody different drunk or upset in the wrong place wrong time! But yall are all the type of people to watch your friends get beat up and do nothing but blame them and try to kick when they are down! I dont carr what Ulli said or did or drank, unless he was messing with kids or a girls/woman or invading someone else home or property Im jumping in to help or stop that any day of the week! I hate how all these people act like they known dude for 20 yrs and he always been a bad dude just cause they dont like his style or how he comes off on commentary! Thats jist bonkerz and after being in a few similar situations over the years I just know if we there together and I didnt try and stop u from doing whatever pissed them off then we fighting together 4 sure! I guess if it was only one person thats different but who knows right! Im just trying to say people shld def stick up for their friends and stop all this bandwagon hate with stupid complex theories about what u think he might have done wrong! Get off yalls high horses pls and just admit u were scared if u were there n u didnt do nothing to help or watch smh! This is also another reason DG can rub me the wrong way sometimes! Bunch of washed up karens on here acting like they know Ulli and know he deserved to get jumped smh its a shame! Then the same people will turn on Jomez in 2 weeks and act like hes the smartest player alive and best commentator in the history of sports broadcasting! Let those same people see Ulli IRL and they gonna be sniffin his seat cusions and begging for selfies!
How tf did Uli friends n people around just watch him get beat up by 6 dudes? If I was there I def wlda jumped in to help him (prolly got my ass kicked too, but wld have got some licks in 4 sure) just feel like I prolly wlda been able defuse the situation at the least or been able to keep him from getting hos shoulder broken! I've never even met Uli and even used to not really like him like 10 years ago when I started watching disc golf coverage. But after seeing him be a stand up dude and even put his own ego and career aside to help others for 10 years its hard to see him doing something worthy of this! Fuk that he wlda had to do some real messed up stuff or something crazy for me to sit there and act like what he did wld excuse me sitting there like I coward and watching him get smashed up! I also know how people r quick to blur the details to fit their narrative! Def met many a disc golfers like this too!
That's because what he's saying vs what happened are very different. I know from experience, after getting hit in the head with a disc from someone's tee shot (a complete accident) I ran my mouth off at the dude who at the time didn't even know his disc hit me, but I wasn't having it. Shit got heated and I got my ass whooped on top of the disc hitting me in the head. I called out of work the next day saying I "got jumped" simply because I was sore. Yeah when people (especially in Uli's public position, do shit that is deeply frowned upon and should know better than to even put themselves in that situation, they have no choice but to strongly TWIST the narrative to lighten the load, the embarrassement and negativity they've already burdend themselves with.
@@triple_five_soul6439 I agree with most or all of what u said here and had a similar take on it all! I've also been in and had mixed takes on getting hit or hitting someone with a disc and who was in the right/wrong and all! Like at first when I started playing disc golf I wld say I aint scared of no disc, but then after getting hit a few times on the course and actually by my 5yo son at point blank right below the temple I realized ok I may have been wrong about that and a disc can do some damage! I see new players go thru similar phases too and try to not let situations where someone gets hit come to blows if possible! But there's always times where there's nothing u can do too! Sorry you got beat up dude, it takes a man to admit their wrongs and admit losing a fair fight and I cld 100% see Ulli lying about it being 6 dudes and really just lost a fair fight. I'm just not a fan of people bashing him and making up all these long drawn out storylines about what happened without all the facts, just based on opinion ya know. I've also had my ass kicked a few times (in fair and unfair fights) and know how u and Ulli prolly felt and wldnt blame or judge either of ya for saying u got jumped to keep from feeling worse than u do or did already! Def one of the worst feelings losing a fair fight and the shame and ridicule u feel after from friends and people u know! It will def teach u to choose your battles as well as protect yourself at all times, but even then there's always a bigger dog somewhere waiting 4 ya if u always looking for a fight!
@@triple_five_soul6439 know better than to put themselves in that situation is a key point u made! That's where alcohol and attitudes play a big role or can change how someone reacts to what happens! Like those that hadn't had that good ole beat down in front of everyone u know or seen the results of crazy fights that started over stupid little things, they will be the ones saying oh I wlda blah blah blah and it's like sure u wld have and even if u did is it really worth it! I've seen people lose their life over something that cld have 100% been avoided and I try to remember stuff like that anytime shit pops off anywhere! I used to think it was worth it and every once in a while it may be, but I try to keep from scrapping over anything these days, which my younger self wld have laughed at me for and called me a wuss!
