Great! Everyone should do their research on the topic. I’ve watched the video you are referring to and I believe the argument is that people are making meaningless commits to boost their “GitHub creds”. I agree that’s not a good idea. Always make meaningful contributions.
Good video! Nice and concise ... now you know what would Kick ass...? if you added your own sandbox repository of some -hopefully not so important- project you're working on and let us, rookies make our baby steps into contributing to it
I think changes that we make in the open source project should be really useful in perfect case. For example, implementation of the feature that difficult to make for many years. But for first experience of contribution it's enough to make a simple change in the GitHub project.
Ugh, I so wish people would either stop using GitHub for dumb little game mods, or that there was a consumer-friendly UI available as well for it. Thanks for the guide!
What about the people that DO NOT want their stuff stolen ? How can I say NO to open source AI ? And block it ? I really hate how AI has ruined art for real artists. Its fine if you want to use it, if you like soulless things, that require ZERO effort, but I dont want mine or others stuff stolen by your FORCED permissary monstrosity a.k.a. open source. Please do a vid on how artists can BLOCK people from stealing and using their stuff via open source AI. Id like that instead. People should be able to say NO, to this stuff as well. I think all who use open source, especially those who dont credit the original artists, are whats wrong with the world. I guess you CAN be highly intellectual, but be devoid of understanding pretty much everything else. lIke, morals. I wonder if humanity will understand self restraint, before it makes life unbearable for itself, or if it will just off itself in the pursuit, of the next great intellectually destructive endeavor, "just for funsies"? Its fine, if you want to destroy yourself, so you can feel how smart you are. But keep me, and the ones that dont want it, OUT OF IT. Problem is, You tech-people DONT. Hope you all get payed a lot for stealing and at least partially destroying art forever. Read a korean manwha once called "The Antique gift shop", The supernatural proprietor had a little segment about "eyedrops versus tears", and that he h-worded humanity because of it. I thought that was a bit harsh. But I get what he means now. And I kinda wish I didnt. Have a nice life, just the same. I hope they find efficient ways of effing up your AI open source thing, as soon as possible. Or that they sue open source company users into oblivion.
And before you or anyone else, "stroke yourself" with the "progress cant be stopped" yadda-yadda "outdated way of thinking" ish-talk, let me just ask; what is "progress" when we go down to the nitty-gritty simple stuff ?, I suppose what most mean by that is "betterment" in some way, in the lack of a better explanatory word. Is this AI REALLY "betterment" ? That is highly subjective. "Betterment"for artists ? h-e double hockeysticks NO !! "Betterment" for the pocketbooks of already rich conglomerates. Well yes. So, it ISNT REALLY progress. Progress would be if it actually "bettered" anything. For me personally, this is a dystopian nightmarescape. That techs such as yourself, will NOT ALLOW me or others to say no to, in more than one way "boxing people in". "Herding".
Progress would be, me having alternatives, and being able to say no, to the "so called progress", with ease. But No, we get ish like this shoved down our throats, whether we like to or not.
Finally! i had the same idea, but nothing to start with. Thanks a lot! :) i'm new to 3d print, but after some training how to use my printer, this will be my first big project :)
I 1000% agree on the approach to learning and doing. I always go with the lowest friction software to get the job done. By picking up bigger and more complicated projects, we naturally progress into new workflows that would've been overwhelming from the start!
With an app, the attack wouldn't be on the app itself since it's on your device. The attack would be on the APIs and other web related assets that the app relies on.
The million dollar question is whether or not you were able to get more than one working? When I add a second camera, it just cycles through them and they go on and offline continuously. Were you able to make it work with more than one?
I haven’t tried with two of the same camera using the onvif plugin. I do have two camera working, one is onvif and the other is webrtc. Both work in the home app through scrypted
Amazingly clear instruction. Is there another video to explain a case where the project asks you to "Note: These are seperate requirements that are not installed with the pip command! You will need to download and install these manually!"?
all I want is to use IPC tool...so I go to the github, select the "the link" to download latest build...and I get this file that I ahve no idea what to do with....I jsut want to install the program.
I looked at the repo. The link downloads the actual program. The instructions on how to use it are in the readme. It’s a terminal command line tool so you probably need a Linux OS or windows WSL to run it.
I have tried so many times! I thought I was the only one! I was recently trying to scan an arthritis product but in the past I have been unsuccessful more times than not.
Hey! thanks! You might need to manually set the IP address in the config. after setting it manually, upload with USB one last time then try wireless again.
Already done that, the device comes online much faster, but the update is not working. Everything seems ok in the logging, but the display won't show content.
Every time I have to download something from GitHub, the UI changes and the download button becomes harder to find. I'm shocked they didn't just overhaul the entire web design. It's extremely infuriating.
if there are no packages release, use the last method mentioned in the video. use the git command line tool. this is really what github was intended for.
