Would love to know how to use root cellar in the pedmount I have a root cellar during the summer it went up to 72<75 Installed a small ac now 60 @ 30<50% humidity Thank u John B
Great information... this was our first year vertical growing our squash/zucchini, pruning as it grew which also help with airflow. I noticed a tremendous reduction in our squash bugs/borers.
Just found your channel researching building a root cellar. Thanks for sharing... this is exactly what we're looking to do. And glad to see a fella from our neck of the woods.
Good afternoon Mr. Piedmont Gardener. Been watching your videos and just purchased some short day onions (learned something new) to plant here in the Piedmont. I did not hear a date on your video about approx. when you are beginning to harvest your onions. Also - would you mind sharing fertilizer you use on onions and frequency of application? Many thanks for your help.
Sorry for the delayed response. I use 20/20/20 water soluble fertilize like miracle grow once a week . Onions are hungry plants. Harvest them when the tops fall over by themselves. They wont grow any more after the tops fall over.
@@thepiedmontgardener5453 Thx so much. I just harvested and everyone loves these onions. Mine did not get as large as I would have liked, but trying again next year and planning to put more in the ground. Appreciate the tip.
Love me some greens all kinds i like to steam them in a littlebutter chopped garlic and a sprinkle of red pepper flakes, eat them with beans and rice. Braggs amino acids. Only recipe i know
Great video and great information on growing onions! You do them pretty much like I do. I live in the Piedmont of NC, the ones that have grown are the Walla Walla, which is a long day, I was surprised that they actually bulbed as big as they did. Thanks for the video! Keep em coming!
I just started some Red Russian kale. I’ve never grown kale before, and if I were to start again, I would probably try this method. I started mine in seed flats to transplant. Hopefully the robust ones take well to transplant. Thank you for the information!
I planted my mustard greens near the beets and cabbages. Then I read not to plant the greens near the beats. Should I remove the greens or beets and replant somewhere else? Thanks
Hello new friend! Happy to connect with you. Hope you can join me as well. The southern Giant Curled Mustards are my favorite also! Thanks for sharing.
I like to use an old seasoning shaker container from dollar tree to plant my seeds. It makes spreading them very easy and also protects the seeds from moisture until you plant. Great video, thanks for sharing😀
I started my kale from an inside soil pod. Just transferred it to an outdoor bigger pot. Hoping the little plant will make it in this crazy California heat
