Brilliant Andy, what a great mountain Cruachan is, great conditions there mate, I was up Beinn Chabhair the same day and got burnt alive, forgot the suncream 😂😂 Good to see you bumped into the Duracell bros Charlie & Mike. Great wee tune as always ATB Frank
@hikingwithfrank315 This post made me laff Frank.🤣🤣I'm just out the gym and my face is still flaking away like a bad case of dandruff cos a never put suncream on that day.Sunburn lines on my legs are ridiculous with the shorts.🥵😂 Aye...good to bump into the McCartney Boys, pure legends in the hiking world.Think they were back in the house, editing their video and having there tea by the time I got back to Cruachan Railway Station.🤣🤣🤣👏
Great day out Andy and glad you got some great views as these look a great walk I really want to get up to them this year, but the weather not been playing ball but looking forward to doing them. ATB ALLY 👍
Thanks Ally.Weather has been crap the last few weeks.😪.I am into my 2nd week off work on holiday and the weather has scuppered my plans to get the Munros finished.Just to let you know , this day of filming was Angus the boat man's last day of the season for taking hikers up the Loch.If u go in there u will need to "Walk the Loch"😱😱He will resume again April next year.🤔
Andy you got a cracking day for them cracking views aswell great to see as it's a brilliant route not been on them for a very long time but definitely going to get back to do them again . Atb Ally 👍
Been about 8 years since I done these ones Ally and it's a superb circuit. My profile pic is my first ever Cloud Inversion we got hiking this route in the snow. What an epic day that was and it brought back a lot of brilliant memories going round it 😃👍🏴
@itsablack1 yeah,I have already done this circuit years ago.Good for a return under different conditions as there was snow on them first time and was our very first cloud inversion. 3 to go now but the weather is not the best for going away to get them so chose to do this as a day hike.😃👍
Hi Andy, You also had a cracking day by the looks of things. Great to speak with you on the track up and I hope the weather settles itself over the coming weeks to allow you to finally get completed. 👍ATB Cheers
Thanks Charlie, nice to meet you both as well.Turned out a great day eh.I got punished for forgetting to put my suncream on.🥵🤣 Weather is all over the place and hopefully get my last ones soon thanks.😃👍🏴
Outstanding Andy, top quality tunes as well. Nothing better than striding across the high ground of the highlands with quality progressive house blaring in yer ears!
Thanks Kev.Bloody hard ones these.Have read some many reports and watched videos of folk thinking they could tackle the 12 out there and under estimating what they were taking on.I knew i would stuggle without using the boat service and so glad that I took it.
So that's what the scenery is like Andy 😂 I'm glad you got the views 🏔️🏔️🏔️🏔️ well apart from An Socach 😢 well done mate another 4 in the bag 🎒 the boat 🚢 makes a big difference 🥾 brilliant mate atb Brian 👍
Thanks Brian.I honestly thought i was going to be stuck in the clouds all day pulling up An Socach.😂I was gubbed enuff without a loch Walk and so glad i phoned Angus and arranged the pick up for the last day of his season dropping folk off till next year.
Awesome never done the boat looks good and Saba awkward hike along the Loch cracking video some of my favourite Munro’s great views but tough hike cheers ATB
Great one Andy. When you were walking up to the 1st munro with clag and rain I thought you were gonna have weather like Frank and Brian had, but it cleared up lovely for you. I'm looking forward to doing these ones. 3 left to go now, which ones do you have left, if you don't mind saying? Love the trance instrumental soundtracks to your videos ss well. ATB Andy
Such a similar start to Frank and Brian's day wasn't it Andy, lol.I thought that was me all day on the 1st summit but when my clouds broke ,the views were pretty good. 2 in Fisherfield and 1 in Knoydart to go.✔️✔️✔️🏴 Glad u like the music.I have a varied tastes in music ,pretty similar to Murchies mountains as we have spoke about it in the past.😀👍
@abelmcbride-scotland Thanks pal.Was a tough day and so glad I got the last boat of the season.Coming off the last top at over 750m,I could see a grassy trail and was like ..Yasss a path down.Got to about the 600m mark and it dropped straight off down, steep as feck through all sorts of crap and to be greeted with a fern field 🤣🤣right down to 250m.🥵🥵🥵Mission accomplished but weather gonnie screw up the rest of the plan..🤔
Thanks Geoffrey.😃 Kept saying to myself on the descent that I was so lucky not to have a lochside walk back to the car.It really was a slog to go round these having waterproofs on and taking them off to having to put them back on again.Total respect for anyone that does the 12 of these Munro as a circuit carrying camping gear.I could never do it.🥵👏
nice one Andy, good to see what we missed. Views were amazing and its a bit of a slog mate eh. Not many to go now Andy. Loved Brucie at the end 😂😂 ATB FRANK
That was a right slog Frank.🥵Was so lucky to get Angus to take me up on has last day of the season otherwise from Sunday u would be walking the Loch.Noticed u were on a different boat from me.💰💰💸 4 times I had full waterproofs on and off.Glad to finally get these 4 done.Weather not good for my 2 weeks off to finish them.🙁
@felixchristie8466 All the holds are there if you take your time.I only found one part that was tricky for me when I was going back down and it can be avoided.😃👍
Well done Andy another two in the bag 🎒 I'm glad you managed to get some great views 🏔️🏔️ I hope your mate was ok 👍 cracking wee pub with nice grub the Old Forge 🍻 how was your first time camping? ⛺ Great vlog 👌 atb Brian 👍
@thelifeofbrian282 Thanks Brian.Never slept too well with the camping malarky.🤣🫣I think the blow up mat was too thin and my pillow wasnae high enuff.I'm no a camper convert yet, lol.Pal was fine. He's not out regular these days so was feeling it a bit.1st night we had a camping stove meal, but the Pub meal next night was fecking tremendous.🤣🤣Long day for these 2 and a will go back in for Ladhar Bheinn. 😀👍🏴
Nice one Andy. I thought you were going to have the same weather as us, but it cleared up nicely for you. Yeah, that walk oit is a slog and very boggy. That digger was there when we came down. It doesn't look like it's moved? 😂 Lovely sunset to top it off. How many Munro's do you have left to do, if you dont mind me asking? ATB Andy
@andythemunroeater9884 Hey Andy, just that 1st summit for me in the clouds. As soon as I descended to the Bealach and looked back up guess what?......it had cleared.🤣🤣🤣 Yeah ,Mam Barrisdale pass walkout was not as good condition I thought it would be.The middle section was a bit of a bogfest,eh ?😱 1st time after a walk sitting watching a sunset beside a tent was awesome.Good bit of chat with fellow campers. I have 7 left to go now.Choosing my weather wisely now for heading out.U will not be far behind me the speed and numbers u do each trip, lol. Big respect for ur effort pal.😃👏👏
@AndyOB we didn't get any views from the tops, 2 Saturday 1 Sunday, but we got some views about 700mts down. Great seeing the view we could've had 🤣 that reminds me of the game show Bullseye,, here's what you could've won 🤣 I'm on 150 after my last trip, so still got a way to go. Thanks for the respect 👊🏻. ATB Andy
Cracking Andy and thanks for the views! We were over a few weeks ago and didnt see a thing for the three munros! Committed to boomings and holidays 😢😢😢. We took a different ascent route though. I wasnt walking up all those ferns so we continued up the track a fair bit and cut straight up the hill. It was steep but mostly grassy. After we got to the first one it was just rain clouds and winds...it was cracking to see it all clear up for you! Looked amazing 😊.What about the walk back? A long way eh!, a real toughie. Maybe i will go back another time! Well done on the camping too! Did you sleep well? 😂😂😂😂😂Paul
@PAADVENTURES1 Thanks Paul, the sleeping in a tent malarky was murder.🤣🤣Tossed and turned all night.Get a better sleep in my car. 3 weekends we waited to get a half decent weather forecast for this and would say that is the hardest doubler I have done. The walk out was loooong🥵I thought the Mam Barrisdale path would have been in better nick as the middle section was a complete bog.😃🏴👍
Aaaw andy I pure loved watching that.!! What stunning views and white horses 🐎. They pure steep coming back down bits look absolutely terrifying but.. 😱 😮 well done big man. Debbie webby. 👏👏👏 🎉🏆😊💖 x
@debbie8286 Awwww thanks Debbie. Was a bit scared the horses would bite me,lol.🤣🤣 Stunning place out there and Abel spotted a dolphin on the way back on the boat.😃🏴xx
@richardmiddleton6805 Thanks Richard.Probably the hardest doubler I have done.A lot of ups and downs inbetween them, some of it quite steep made for a slog of a day.The walkout from Mam Barrisadale was a lot boggier than expected too.😱🥵👍
I think I’ll have nightmares for a while over them bloody ferns for a long time. Something in the weather that day maybe as I was the same as Abel. Tagged the first one but didn’t fancy doing anymore. Was looking forward to a pint, food and the camp chat too much 😊
@Moffatmountainadventures hey Robert,😃 really hot going through them horrible ferns with no breeze whatsoever. Was tough going. If I had done them before I would have chucked it at that point as well, lol.Nice meeting you pal and look forward to ur vid when it's out.😀👍
@colingreer853 Ahhh hi Colin.😀👋👋.You were with Mustard jacket man then, lol?🤣It was a great weekend,eh and the midgies were nowhere near as bad as I thought they would be.Thanks for watching.😀👍
Thanks Billy.😀👍 Sunset was amazing that night and a slight breeze kept the midgies away for most of it.Not a convert camper but feel a lot better I have finally done one.😃
Nice one Andy, nice tae see you camping 😂😂 Looked a day and a half mate, glad you got the views as you deserved them after such a long slog. Why didn’t you stay for Larven.? You done it before.? Shame about Abel. I’m gonna take my bike over when I do them, cut the time down a bit. Great sunset and a great edit Andy👍 How many you got left now. ATB Frank
@hikingwithfrank315 Hey Frank, wasn't sure how my legs would have been next day and still toilling with the idea of getting Larven coming in on a boat from Arnisdale.Still no a fan of Camping.🤣🤣Have 7 to go now and I want to get them Mullardoch 4 feckers out the road next.Just watched Brian's vid last night. What a shift in that weather for u's.😱😱
@@AndyOB yeh so glad we used the boat Andy, as my calf started to play up as we reached the 1st summit, still sore by the time we finished, it was an effin slog mate in those conditions
brilliant Andy took me back to few weeks ago when i was there a fantastic place. that was a shame your mate couldn't continue at least he had already done them, so glad to see everything we missed with the weather looks stunning as well so weird seeing those views as we practically were just clagged in most of the day looked like you had a great time. Atb Ally 👍👍
Thanks Ally. This was our 3rd weekend of weather watching as I didn't want to go camping in crappy weather. When you have accommodation booked ur tied with what u get.😀👍 My pal even pitched my tent for me ,only the 2nd time it has been out the bag after a trial pitch 5 years ago.😅😂😂
@AndyOB I'm the same only had the camp up in the fisherfields this year hopefully in August get another one in the cairngorms just need this weather to change 🙈.
@boomtish4520 Hi Mustard jacket guy, lol.😃👋👋Nice to meet u guys too.Think we done well weather-wise over there can't complain about a wee bit of cloud.Really enjoyed the adventure.Makes it a bit special that we had to take a boat in and out.😀
Good stuff Andy , glad the views opened up when you got on to Luinne Bheinn. A fine pair of Munros , i need to go back for Ladher Bheinn ...Pity your pal wasn't up to it but another two in the bag for for you mate ..Nice one ..Stevie
Thanks Stevie.I have got to go back for Ladhar myself and looking at all my different options for it.Could be my final one.😎🏴 Yeah my pal is a camper like urself Stevie, and he was there to keep me right. Not been out regular recently so felt he would hold me back.Still canny believe he had the energy to do the 3 Munros when he done them where I found the 2 hard enuff.🥵🥵
That looks scary - I know I will have to do it one day, but I'm horrified by that fact, especially after watching videos like this 😁😁😁😁. Contrtary to my wife. She thinks that peaks without scary ridges and exposed pinnacles are not worth her time 😜😜.
The bad step did make slightly nervous but took my time going down it.Just a few footholds you can't see at first.A lot more simpler going up as you can see all your moves.Rest of the scramble is pretty straightforward. If you are unsure maybe think about a guide with safety rope option.😃👍
The cheesy music spoils this video mate maybe some people might like it but in my opinion it destroys a brilliant video I love to hear the wind and raw sound of the hike! Just some advice no hate just putting it out there 🏴
@glasgowbhoy8711 Thanks for your opinion/advice on the video.Had a wee look at your channel to see if I could pick up any tips on making videos and watched all of your content which took about 1min 30 secs of my time.Couldn't find anything.🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍🏴
Well done Andy. That's some mountain. That ridge line looks quite imppsing when you're walking towards it. The bad step looked tricky, but you captured it well, trying to find the hand holds. Congrats on completing the Skye munro's. ATB Andy
Thanks Andy.Lucked out with the weather on this as it wasn't looking too good when I crossed the Skye Bridge in the morning.Thankfully the clouds cleared to give me some views and I didn't fancy taking the ridge on in low clouds.Been there, done that and nearly got myself in serious bother up there before.😃👍
Nice one Andy. Love the views on the way up, near that gorge coming down from Gillean, really nice approach to the ridge. Well done on that bad step, looks tricky to down climb with the hidden footholds.
@andy-astro Thanks Andy.Had another look at ur vid and the photo u showed me of the bypass path before I went.To be honest the step looked safer, lol.🤣🤣 Just took my time getting down it pal and it was pretty straightforward going back up as u can see all the moves.😃👍
@@AndyOB Yeah, the bypass looks ok in pics and videos but when u get there it all kinda looks the same. Took me a bit of looking around to find it. Probably safer in the cloud to go over the bad step for sure, rather than faff about looking for the route around it. Any plans for after the 282, maybe the Corbetts, or revisits to the claggy Munros from your round?
Probably give the Corbetts a go Andy, and maybe try some of my fav Munros from another direction.I was fortunate to put a lot of plan B's in place when the weather was clagged in and done the not so good ones instead and leave all the belters for better conditions.😃
Hi Tom,in good weather I would say the descent route I took was easy to follow. If the weather changed the Cuillin Ridge is a whole new ball game.I ran into trouble on the ridge last year in Coire Ghrunnda.Clouds were so thick I could only see about 30 ft in front of me and nearly ended up Cragfast.Had to abort the climb.Due to this experience in the past,if the weather was clouded in or not looking too good before I set off for Am Basteir ,I would have left it for another day especially being up there solo.😃👍
