I remember this game well. The Bruins could have replaced their sticks with swords and started cutting people up and the refs still wouldn't have called a penalty.
I live in Ohio, I'm 76 years old and a lifelong Ohio State Buckeye fan. I watch the Big Ten network to watch everything Ohio State and all I see is Mushagin football. This is Ohio, show Ohio State football. Let Michigan fans watch Michigan football. This is OHIO, just show us everything Ohio State. Buckeyes don't want to watch anything but Ohio State sports!!!!!
Growing up I have cheered for Edmonton, Vancouver and Colorado. My mom cheered for bolth Edmonton and Boston, my mom actually used to watch Bobby Orr during the training season in her hometown of Estevan, Saskatchewan back in the day. My dad was the one who got me interested and loving Hockey when we used to play street Hockey or video games such as Blades of steel (NES) or NHLPA Hockey '93 (Genesis) or when I used to go see him play for his company's team (no contact). I Love Hockey! Also Let's Go Oilers!!
Love it! Takes me back, I was a huge Danny Gallivan fan and Dave Hodge and Howie Meeker as well as Brian McFarland and Bob Cole and of course the old baby blue blazer with HNIC crest!!!!
Raycom may not have its brand on game telecasts anymore, but it'll still produce ACC-controlled telecasts for RSNs and ESPN's ACC Network. The soon-to-be-former FOX Sports RSNs and ESPN could use the help. I think Raycom will still be involved as the ACC's digital partner.
marcus813 all that stuff you mentioned is behind the scenes tho. Does anyone who watches Fox College Football know or care that the Georgia Tech-Syracuse game on FSN at noon is produced by Raycom, while the 3:30 Texas Tech-Nebraska game on FSN is produced by Fox itself? No, they just know both games are on their local FSN and part of Fox College Football. Raycom will now be in that role (of silent unseen producer) on EVERY telecast, effectively meaning Raycom Sports is over in most people’s minds.
I went to the dukes mayo bowl they where one of the main sponsors I saw the raycom banner and remembered walking into a Clemson basketball game and seeing it
2:40 to 2:50 Bob Goldham (played for the Leafs, Chicago and the Red Wings from the mid '40's into the mid-'50's) being interviewed by Ward Cornell and then by Dave Hodge (Cornell's successor).
4:50 A young Chris Cuthbert with a full head of hair. Didn't recognize him for a minute. Also , I saw a much younger Dave Hodge who looked like he left the Beatles for the HNIC gig.
Danny Gallivan to me had to be the greatest play by play man of all time. He didn't have the typical voice for it either but what he did better than anyone was change his inflection and delivery when the puck was near the net. He could bring you out of your seat just with the tone of his voice, I absolutely loved listening to him as a kid.
