Hi Im a Musician from Toronto Canada who is Tripping out through Asia with the goal of leading a more creative and meaningful life. I create and record all my own backround music for the channel and sometimes play a diddy or two in each video, as well as crack a few dad jokes along the way.

Come along with me on my journey through Thailand and Cambodia. I will tour hotels, try all sorts of food and show you what local life is like. As well as the costs associated, and any tips I pick up along the way.

Lots of videos to come, so please subscribe. If we can get this channel monetized i can start giving it back to the local communities and I will also eat a tarantula.

@TomTripsOut
@TomTripsOut 14 часов назад
@@demad9599 well I’m in Cambodia 🇰🇭 - but yea that’s a good question. Yes I work for a school in Cambodia that allows me to work online. So I can use them for the permit and visa. If you work for a country from somewhere else you’d have to make yourself self employed and you can provide your own employment letter. I haven’t done that so I don’t know much about it. But you probably just have to register yourself as a small business, so you have an ID number and documents like an employer. Prob have to pay taxes. Also another option, is to ask the visa agent how much it costs if you don’t have the documents, and they’ll take care of it for extra money. That is shady and not recommended, but from what I hear it happens more than u think

It’s Crazy how cheap it is. In the America, a bowl of soup is $18 plus 18% tip and 10% tax. $3.90 here in the U.S, you can’t even get a small cup of coffee.

@@happy4ever305 yea there’s no tax added or tip here. It’s all in that original price. - tipping is not in the culture here. You can if you want, but they are not expecting it. @@ahmedgondo9512 very unlikely here. I’m not sure what a university level teacher makes. So possibly that’s something. BUT - the real answer is do Vietnam. Hey Tom, before you left Canada to do your TESOL course and work in Cambodia what documents did you prepare? Should you get a criminal record check in home country? Any other documents? And do they have to be notarized or certified or anything like that? Since I'm Canadian as well I'm hoping your answers are going to be directly applicable to me. Thanks!! 👍
@TomTripsOut
@TomTripsOut 6 дней назад
Yea when you get in touch with AVSE they help guide you through all of that including the visa process. Get the criminal record check in home country. I got a criminal record check but I didn’t get it notarized, I just brought the original. It was stamped when i got it. I don’t have any degrees so I didn’t have those documents. They say you should get your degrees notarized. If you work in Vietnam they need to be, and it’s more of a pain to do it there.

After seeing the driving skills in Phnom Penh I'm not surprised the van busted a tire by hitting the curb. 🤣🤣 Any idea how difficult it is for Americans to open a bank idea in Cambodia? It's my understanding that most foreign banks don't want to deal with the hassle of American bank accounts due to the regulative hoops they have to jump through imposed by US government banking regulations, such as FATCA.
