ActinOut (Active in Outdoors) began as the channel OutdoorChrisB, documenting the outdoor adventures I was having and various DIY projects and fixes. As my family grew older and began to come along in these adventures, the channel evolved into ActinOut. Acting out has historically had a negative connotation. We chose ActinOut (short for Active in Outdoors) as a way to create a positive twist on how acting out doesn't always have to be considered negative. We hope the t-shirts we sell on our site exemplify this positive twist. And the videos? Well, we just enjoy sharing our adventures. For those who may never get a chance to visit some of the places we go in our adventures (not that they are that extravagant), we hope to share those places with you so you can experience them as well. ActinOut - Personal and Family Outdoor Adventures in hunting, hiking, backpacking, mule deer and elk, fishing, skiing, outdoor & recreation travel, outdoor product reviews, DIY and more.
@dalepetty5490 this was 4 years ago and they're becoming scarce. This company is a sporting good supplier that appears to have them. They used to be just a distributor but it appears they may sell to the public now, but not sure. Hopefully this helps. libertymountain.com/camp-hike/trekking-poles/lock-mechanism-ntn07179.html
thank you for this, it seems like it should work, but the moment i put the small part in, it gets in but just stays loose, I can take it out, but as I try again I get the same result. Any idea why this could happen? My carabiner is very particular and I would hate to throw it away since I can’t find any similar ones
Thank you! As i am doing a day trip this Sunday and was considering getting a campsite so I could grill. 😀 and it looks like we need water shoes thx y’all
I got 4 minutes into your video and I'm giving up. It's like watching somebody try to describe an elephant by starting inside in the dark. I just used a regular swamp cooler fan. I just used some regular swamp cooler tubing. I had supposed from the title the $100 DIY project, would lead me through the effort without already owning a swamp cooler.
Thanks to this video I was able to fix my favourite carabiner!!!! I was so sad when I thought I would have to throw it away. The little metal piece was completely lost so I had to do some surgery using old ones I no longer use. This video was really easy to follow when starting from scratch like that. Thank you so much!
Thanks for the video. I just noticed a leak on a Hydrapak bladder I have, and made up my mind about buying a new one, but decided to look for possible fixes on YT, and found this video. I'm kind of away from home right now, but it turns out I do have some tenacious tape somewhere back home. A lesson I get from this is that it pays off to have some tenacious tape in the repair kit of the backpack just in case. Another lesson is that a repair like this is only temporary. It might get you by if you're in the middle of a trip, but I would still replace the bladder as soon as I get home.
Thank you so much! I have a clip on a bit of paracord that I've been using as my keychain and I was really scared I'd have to say goodbye after the spring slipped loose, works good as new now
oh man, thanks for this... I have a designer EERA bag with a carabiner like this and yea the spring quit working and the little metal piece slipped out. The brand wants $73 for shipping?! from Milan for a replacement. Gonna try this tomorrow.
Thank you!!!! It worked just like your video... didn't seem like little metal bit was going to go back in but then it did. The spring gate works again great in my neon orange plastic caribiner for my boogie handbag.
Thank you so much, I was speculating that it was the small thread sticking out which was the cause of my non closing climbing hook but I wasn’t sure and the spring wasn’t going in
Thank you. Prob 90% of the world doesn't have a harbor freight near them. I've also seen the spring on brand new ones slip out. I've also had them slip out when hunting. It's just helpful to know how to fix it in a pinch and you're not able to just grab a new one quick. Thanks for the comment though.
Oh my god dude you’re a life saver I was able to fix the clip that came with my AirPods case and now I don’t have to buy a new one. You just gained a sub🙏
