thanks for the vid! will keep in mind for after i pick up my 200k m119 powered eclass. did you check the timing chain stretch or have any concerns with that? im a little worried lol ;) appreciate it!
I know this is an older video, but did that led signal bulb give any errors? Did you have to code anything? I’m interested in doing all of this to my m3 so just wanted to see if I should change the bulb while I’m in there
Ive pretty much coded all my bulb checks to be off, aside from the main xenon beam. Otherwise the LEDs will flicker during the bulb checks and you'll get error messages
Hi, Can you help me with this question, please? 2008 ML350 W164, I was replacing the Cam Adjuster when the chain jumped and I had to take the timing cover off to time the chain. I have to take both lower adn upper oil pans out to put the cover back on. I did take out the lower pan but to remove the UPPER pan it looks like I need to lift the engine, My question is: To lift the engine, is it removing the engine mount bolts, Torque convertor bolts, and unbutton the engine from the trans or is there something else to it? DOes the transmission neeeds support when lifting the engine? Thank you for your time.
Nice video. Some MB dealers have the struts for about $100 each. They are all the same on both doors. Dealer wanted $500 per door to replace struts. I can replace the struts on both doors myself for about $400 using OEM parts. I like your seat belts. Is yours a GT or did you replace the seat belts? Was thinking about putting red belts. Adds a nice touch of color to black interior. Dealer wanted $2,400 to do both.
how do i go about getting rid of the air inside the radiator hose? please help. my c250 has been down for 4 months and just got it fixed i just need this last part. please bro
Idk if anyone gets this but I love the tone of the c63 I just don’t like that it sounds like it tries to cut the sound off at the end of the rev, what could you do to let it run down it sounds better to me that way… sorry if this doesn’t make sense but it’s the only way I know how to explain
One thing you mentioned incorrectly is that the C190 has an M178 engine, which features a dry sump system. This system significantly improves handling by lowering the center of gravity. Additionally, it ensures consistent oil delivery during high-speed maneuvers, technology use on all race cars.
They are still manufactured by Brembo. Mercedes chose to use the sliding caliper design for the S Class, CL, ML, and R class AMGs of the time to balance comfort. I disagree with this decision honestly, wish they put fixed 6 piston calipers in.
Go watch the videos out now, most people seem to agree with what I've said. The new car is quick, as is an E63, but it lost much of what made the C190 GT so good.
1:54 - it looks like you place the saddle of the jack stand over one of the humps in the side lift points. I am working on a W204 for the first time and wanted to make sure I was putting it down correctly on jack stands. I was worried about those plastic lift points breaking when placed on a jack stand. Are you using an adapter there or are your jack stands designed to fit into that groove at the 4 side lift points?
I had a W204 pre-facelift and fitted a genuine Edition 507 steering wheel and shift boot/knob. Made an amazing difference to the interior feel. But I did love the dark wood trim. Definitely wouldn’t replace that.
Awesome video! I myself own a 530i manual with upgraded suspension and love it. Only complaint I would have, is the differential :/ They only came with open diffs which sucks because there will be always be 1 wheel spinning speeding out of a corner. (Not really sure yet what I should do about it.. Was looking at some E39 M5 diffs but these are really costly so thats pretty much a no for me now. Feel free to give me some tips maybe)
Best option thats cost effective is getting a racing diffs kit. It essentially adds a clutch to your open diff which allows you to get the similar effect of an LSD. I will probably do that at some point, only about $350-$400 for the parts. The issue with an M5 diff is that I believe you need to change the entire subframe to an M5/540i subframe, as the inline 6 models have a completely different setup
The 530d LCI performs almost as well as the 530i (the 530i shades the 530d by a second or even fractions of a second), the acceleration from 40 mph is even better on the 530d, and the 530d has seriously better fuel economy. Unfortunately it was never available in the USA, the USA didn't do diesel cars in those days.
Yep, I wish we had them in the US as I would probably have one instead haha. Some day when this M54 gets tired and I still have this car I'll either S54 or M57 swap it!
