@@grumpyvetgarage I figured the manifold is essentially an extension of the intake so wouldn't really "need" a tune but wouldn't truly maximize the gains from the mod without it.
@@thebandaman7763 I hear you. Same could be said for the MHD Stage 2 Tune. It was not made for my car specifically, but for a car similar to mine. A custom tune would always be better, but as you said it isn't a "need" at the moment.
Thanks! I think most people use ECMLink over Haltech because of the price and familiarity of ECMLink. The Haltech is a good product but the "plug and play" harness by itself costs almost as much as ECMLink. I can think of one good reason the go Haltech over ECMLink. If your factory engine harness is trash and you are comfortable pinning out your own connectors, Haltech with their universal harness is much cheaper than buying a aftermarket harness. My Ohm Racing wiring harness is really nice, and should be for how much it cost. Hope that answered your question. Thanks for watching.
@@grumpyvetgarage that answered my question brother! Thanks for the reply. It’s pricey for sure no doubt. But I wanted an updated version for tuning purposes. I’ve had ecm link for a long time and most people aren’t familiar with it for what ever reason and they just prefer to what they are used to I guess lol. Thanks brotha!
@@grumpyvetgarage this is a question not related to my previous question.. Can you use a 1g clutch master cylinder in a 2g with a six bolt swap bottom end with a 7 bolt head? Sorry for the ignorance. I’ve tried searching and can’t find anything or if there’s any benefits for going with a 1g master cylinder.
@@kevinmorales8094 I don't know of any benefits to using a 1g clutch master cylinder in a 2g. I would stick with 2g clutch parts on the car, in my opinion.
I'm looking forward to it too. Data I've seen from other Wagner Tuning owners is really good. While EOS may be a "better performing" manifold, the value and performance of the Wagner at half the price looks promising. More to come.
Yeah, it could have been much worse. We slowed down going through a small town and was only going 35mph when I saw the deer. Slammed on the brakes and was probably only going 20-25mph when we hit, but still a pretty hard hit.
I called Liqui Moly after using their "Find the correct oil for your vehicle" page and seeing that 0W-20 full synthetic is recommended for the 2020+ GR Supra. The Liqui Moly oil expert told me that: For those who operate their Supras on the street, 0W-20 is recommended and is the ONLY viscosity oil that fulfills Toyota's warranty maintenance requirements. Liqui Moly's website lists main bearing clearances and recommended viscosity grade oil. The B58 engine has clearances that were designed for 0W-20 oil. Other resources: The Engineering Explained youtube video (Will thinner oils damage your engine?) Includes mention to "Use what is specified in the owner's manual." three times to denote the importance of viscosity selection. Some owners who use E85 or methanol may thin out oil, using this as a reason to use higher viscosity oil.
Thanks. The 6466 is a great turbo as well. More progress on the Supra coming. It will be supporting mods to get ready for either a 6466 or 6769 and custom tuning in the hopefully not too distant future.
I did numerous Dragy runs. There was no performance difference. The thing I can't seem to find is if the "ignore transmission limiters" is built into the MHD+ OTS tune or is it part of the Femto unlock to prepare for loading MHD+.
@@grumpyvetgarageVery interesting. Xhp claims about half a second shaving off on the 1/4 and 0-60 (depending on many factors ofc) I would reach out to MHD and figure out the catch.
I've seen claims of over 0.3 seconds gained in 0-60 with AWD cars by companies outside xHP promoting their product, but nothing from xHP directly that I can find. I reached out to MHD and they replied that, MHD+ removes transmission limiters. Basically, torque limiters being removed by xHP is now done through the DME and included with MHD+. This makes getting xHP for removal of torque limiters, launch control and torque by gear useless. Any further tuning of torque will need to be done through a custom tune with MHD in the DME.
My man, the hawk performance ceramic pads. Put them on my Lamborghini LP560 And my c6 Z06. Dust still. I saw your review before buying and don’t understand the no dust thing. Is it my black wheels on both cars making it show? I’m annoyed slightly. It’s better but there is certainly dust with both cars
S&B Mounts are $499. I have rode in a truck with Energy Suspension body mounts and it stiff but not bad. Way better than wore out mounts, that's for sure.
Completely understand. The Kryptonite setup is pricey but definitely will remove some of the roughness in an older truck. It will give you more control on and off road and higher priority to cab mounts in my opinion.
@grumpyvetgarage Ya. I went PSC steering box and pump as well. . . That actually what I started with, until I started tearing into it. It snowballed. . .
Hey grumpy. I just got my dme back and tuned do you know what setting it is so my car only does the roar on warm starts? I dont want to piss my neighbors off in the morning 😭
@grumpyvetgarage is that the option to turn it off completely, or only cold starts? Stock it would only do the roar on warm starts, which I still want, but for some reason, it did on a cold start with the option on Also im not sure if its the tune itself but my car doesn't idle on cold starts anymore before it would have a little over 1krpm and slowly come down as the car warmed up but now it doesn't. So I'm not sure if I still should wait to drive
@@WNDRFL1 Turning off the "Start-up Roar" option makes it operate just like stock. If you selected "Cold Start Noise Reduction" it removes cold start fuel enrichment which will make the car idle somewhat rough on a cold start until it warms up. It shouldn't be rough more than a few seconds. If you don't like it you can unselect "Cold Start Noise Reduction" and it will behave like stock.
Excellent , I like your attention to detail and the idea of "cleaning" up when you're in there is very smart. I have the same and am going to do y bridge ( pusher ), up pipes and down, manifolds.
HI its been a while (1 year ) hoping to get some input 1. How is it holding 2. have you taken to automatic car wash and was it handle good 3. should I get or you will probably look for better options
Thanks for watching. 1. Holding great, no issues. 2. No, I haven't taken the car through a automatic car wash, but I have used a pressure washer at home. No issues. 3. I haven't seen a spoiler I like better than this one. Of course this is personal preference, but this is the only real styling modification I've done on the car and I think looks great.
As I'm too old for DIY on this I did just have it done on my 1990 SS454, plus a few front linkage grease cups replaced and it was close to $800. It did raise the cab about an 1/8 " and cant confirm the ride just yet, hopefully its improved
If you don't mind me asking how much was your shipping in total? Femto quoted me 160 but i just tried a quote through dhl and they're asking for $600 one way?
No worries. The Femto unlock process with Euro Performance Center was $1,600. If you chose the 1-Day return shipping option, its another $75. I brought the MHD Super License to run MHD+ with this purchase for $529. In total I paid $2,204. I cover the timeline for the unlock further in my follow-up video. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-s6m-Wp7x6ug.html
@grumpyvetgarage I ended up shipping directly. I think they got it? One thing for sure femtos direct support is not good at all. I tried contacting them multiple times. Anyways, do we have disable ota updates for the supra, or is that only for bmw cars?
@@WNDRFL1 The Supra doesn't have "Over the Air" capability like some high trim level BMW models, so we don't have to disable settings or worry about remote locking of our DME. Let me know how your direct shipping experience goes. Curious, how much faster it is than the Euro Performance Center option.
@@grumpyvetgarage thanks! I shipped it out on the 22nd it got there this morning of the 24th and is already on its way back. Return date says the 29th but im hoping it's a little sooner because the ship date to them was the 27th. All in all pretty fast
Thanks for watching. Please subscribe, if you haven't already. I haven't had any issues with parking mode draining my battery. I did set the Viofo Hardwire Kit to cut off at the highest setting (12.4V) just to be safe.
Thanks for watching. Please subscribe, if you haven't already. In my follow-up video, linked below I go over the performance I saw with these Ceramic Pads. Hawk claimed "increased" performance, but they have good "bite" and stopping power just like the OEM pad, with virtually zero dust. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CZZ626tK3Ic.html
Thanks for your video and honest review. Looking at tdoing this soon but looking at oem style ones. I read that the rear ones are hydraulic and that should help with the ride quality but guess we shall see.
Thank you for watching. You are correct in certain cases the rear mounts are hydraulic. I know my truck did not have them so I don't know if it was an option or just later crew cab models had them. On S&B's website they reference buying only 6 mounts instead of 8 so that you can install OEM hydraulic mounts in the rear position. This would probably improve ride quality from what I'm getting currently with S&B in all 8 positions, but really anything is better than worn out body mounts that were on the truck.
Just found this video after installing a factory style bearing last week. The factory one is already knocking again and I added extra silicon grease. This is my third bearing and second intermediate shaft on my 2004 1500 since I bought it in 2005. I have now ordered the Wold bearing, I hope it works, tired of hearing the rattle. Thanks for the video, I didn’t even know someone made an aftermarket bearing. This video just popped up in my RU-vid feed.
A unlock of so sort will be required if you have a locked DME. After the unlock, any change in turbo size will require custom tuning for that turbo. So no, you would not be able to safely use this turbo without a tune for this turbo. Let me know if you have any other questions.
@grumpyvetgarage oh no I know you would have to get a tune. I just wasn't if the only way to be able to do bigger turbos or top mount was through a fully cloned 2020 ecu or would femto unlock be enough and have enough safety parameters post tune
Thanks for going through this. I am thinking about doing this on my Chevy Avalanche, it’s a 2005 no body sag but it’s also 20 years lol. Thank again for creating the video.
I agree it is a good straight forward kit. I decided against it only because I want to do port injection and with MHD+ and the Motiv Reflex it can control both Port and Flex Fuel with one controller and harness. If port injection wasn't something I wanted to go with the, the MHD flex fuel kit would be my first choice.
