Anyone who recommends a glowforge at any point, cannot be a trusted source of laser information. Glowforge is rotten, under handed company, with sub-standard products, having critical features locked behind a ridiculously priced subscription paywall.
WARNING: E600 is highly toxic and requires either a respirator or to be used outdoor, if you are doing your craft indoor you should use another type of glue.
I use my explore and the regular degular 60° blade to engrave a few 3" acrylic rounds just 3 or so days ago. If i had known beforehand i would've purchase the engraving tip as I'm loaded with blades
It's hard to do anything with vinyl without transfer tape. The alternative is moving the vinyl from the backing by hand one piece at a time and that's frustrating.
Great question. When you add text each letter is separate, in cursive fonts like this one you want the ends of the letters to "weld" together so it cuts or engraves as one piece. It's more important in cutting but I make it a habit to do it with all words.
Thanks so much. This was very very helpful. You answered my questions and many I didnt know I had. I've never b4 so it was great to see all the options.
Yes it does, but this video was made before it came out. I have a video on this channel all about the S1 interchangeable modules if you want more detail
The IR 1065 NM does work very well with the S1. I changed out my 40W with the 2W IR 1064 NM a few days ago and the projects and the quality that it produces is excellent. I just bought the S1 about 3 weeks ago.
Hi i’m still using s1 xtool 20w, but until now i have difficulties to find for the right power and speed for acylic and pendat stainless. Hope you can help me. Thank you🙂
What is the best sealer for oil paintings on Fibre cement? Help I need a clear high Gloss non yellowing waterproof transparent clear finnish for outside..
I bought the XTool S1 7 months ago and I've genuinely been too 'overwhelmed' (or scared!) to set it up and start finding out how to use it. I've even covered it up with a sheet so it's out of my line of view so I don't often think about it. It's my weirdest/most expensive purchase, ever. I like the idea of being able to use it, but after 7 months it'll probably never happen.
Your channel is so full of great information and your production values are wonderful. I see massive things for this channel. Everything is so well done.
This is the full list from Cricut. It actually says cardboard but I haven't tried that. I have worked with thick coverstock and it cut well. help.cricut.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043299554-Which-materials-can-I-cut-with-Cricut-Joy-machines
Thank you for sharing. You are the only one to mention that I do need to manually size my stickers accordingly. For some reason I have been struggling with how to make sure they aren't too big or too small. Your mention gave me that light bulb, a-ha moment. Thank you!
Thank you for this super helpful video. Now that I know which cricut machine I should buy to start with my cricut journey, I have another question. Is buying refurbished cricut a good idea? It would be really helpful if you could give your input on this.
One last thing. Do you need laminate over regular car stickers (not decal) ? I just want to make regular car stickers. I might go with the cricut vinyl but don’t know if I need to laminate it for extra protection. Trying to save money and time. Thanks
To make a sticker truly waterproof you will want to laminate over it. A sticker has printed ink on it. If it's a vinyl decal that is just cut then no need to laminate anything.
