The problem with this is Cara will conform if they data sets and data privacy are within regulation however this doesn’t say if regulation will change to fit datasets they put into place. What I mean is what if regulation is no AI now and than regulation changes to only 40% instead of none? I think the artists jumping ship from Instagram could be put into a position they never expected or wanted. But do what you feel then. #truthforcetimelessgoodtogoJesusChristReturns2024ashedidalreadybefore in Jesus Christs name we pray amen.
Adobe sucks. I have to use Photoshop every day at work. The thing I don’t see people getting upset about though, is how Adobe also logs every keystroke and mouse movement. Make no mistake, they are training their AI tools not only on our content, but our behavior while using their apps.
I don’t believe it. I’ve seen it with Reddit and Twitter, and the same thing will happen here too. It doesn’t matter what these platforms do to you. People get mad, try different platforms for a few weeks and eventually come crawling back and pretending they never left. Social media addiction knows no principles.
I'm so glad to hear this... I've come to hate Insta in the last year.. It's overwhelming.. I'm going to check Cara out and hoping it keeps a stable and simple platform for artists and art lovers.. Coz all we want is to create and share, get the appreciation and love for the creation.. It's a simple ask. Good luck to everyone and hope we find each other on Cara!
I'm from the EU, I opted out on IG, but I will leave IG. I already got an account on Cara and hope it becomes _the_ platform for artists, without reels/storys, without AI, without annoying ads. I just want to enjoy art!
No app can replace the reputation that instagram has. No business will ask you about your following on cara. But also instagram is being flooded with nothing but OF chicks. The future is bleek
im scared and now I know. I say this because after watching this video it opened my eyes to understanding the missing puzzle piece I have been lacking in other communities (such as gaming). Multiple companies are using this strategy. When I finished watching this video I said "this sounds oddly familiar to the sims 4" because IT IS. Multiple people who worked for these companies for years or EVEN DECADES are walking away but then the companies try to act like everything is fine. Then you hear the inside resources or the people who lefts POV to see nothing is fine. In the sims community, the producer or art director (I forget which one) for I believe 17 years in the company and produced the sims 1, 2, and 3, and part of 4 upped and left to CREATE HIS OWN SIMULATION GAME. And we were like someone does not just up and leave a place after working there for 17 years. And he stated something like he didnt like where the company was heading and multiple other people followed him in leaving. Now prior to this we had see the game CRUMBLE. Similarly to this situation, they started parterning with their own fandom in making content for purchase. They had hired Ebonix (a sims cc creator) to make a few packs and I believe another person to make some furniture. Well they had a few clothing peices, hair styles, jewelry, etc. And of course the furniture I had mentioned. They are still actively selling these packs on their EA store for purchase so Ebonix can make money...as well as the sims. Now recently they came out with a new system where they have been essentially stealing these artists models of objects they created and altering them (adding different swatches) to then put them up for sale so they can make profit. Basically what AI and these companies have been doing. Its so wrong. Im just glad I figured it out.
First it was Instagram, then VERO - “True Social” and now Cara: “Art & Social.” I’m sorry to be the bearer of sad news. You won’t find that one good thing, that comes out of these bad situations. There’s a difference between being positive and reality. These platforms are by nature, incapable of delivering anything resembling healthy experiences. If and when they appear to do, it just means the opposite. I’ll be happy to concede I’m wrong should things change.
