The ones on my 86 were the welded version. We ended up drilling some holes and smacking the crap out of them. It's nice to see that the mutilation of the universal press tool is a necessary part of the process. Glad we got that right. Great video!
I like petsmart but unfortunately the grooming department left my bling dog in a cage not secured. Stepped forward this falling 4or 5 feet to the floor 😢 Dumbasses thank god she wasn’t hurt or seriously hurt 😢 Fremont ca
Replace that piston in the 2nd accumulator with either an aluminum one ore the sonnax one they last longer i personnally used the sonnax pinless acumulators they last longer and dont have that stupd pin that wesrs out over time in the bore! Another thing to upgrade is the separator plate with a transgo one they last longer the damn check balls will get ruined over time and check balls will get enmbeded in the bore i seen it i installed same shift kit and like 2 years i started having issue dropped the valve body the check balls had severly worned the separator plate might as well upgrade
If its your furst time removing the input drum i duggest to watch the bench guy he shows u step by step on hiw to do it cause if u never done it im 100 percent u gonna mess up big time
Guys warning do not install the check bal with small whole into input drum it will leak and u eill get 3/4 burnt friction plates, and do not install the 7cs springs for high reving vehicles into the transmission input drum the drum needs clearences in the 3/4 the yellows springs will be outside gm input drum clearences its gonna be too tight causing shift issues i know cause i had them installed
I gutted my supercharger body like that….I’m glad I wasn’t alone, when I decided to gut it like that. I also opened up the intake to match. I was gonna use a short stack intercooler…I ended up not using the 3800 intercooler, and went with a external turbo intercooler. Location of the turbo has two options” exhaust mount, or mount it on the crossover….I ended up plumbing it on the exhaust manifold” this opened up many issues” 1: automatic transmission blocked most of the oil pan locations” it Literally only have one location to mount the oil return line. 2.: stress on the exhaust manifold” I ended up getting aftermarket exhaust manifolds…..Made a peg leg on the turbo itself, and made a muffler holder….bottom line no more stress on the front exhaust manifold. 3: waste gate location….Couldn’t use the ZZP waste gate block off plate…..I ended up plumbing it into the crossover pipe…..I’m still working on this issue…..I might run one on crossover, and a smaller one using the O2 sensor hole. Mounting the turbo to the exhaust manifold allows me to use a bigger sized turbo, and allowed me to route the charge pipes to the throttle body easier, and route the exhaust in a good location. I enjoy the videos, and keep up the good work.
The 05-09 4.0 V6 Stangs that have the 5r55s trans have a selectshift button on the shifter don't they? If the 5r55s Stang shifter has the tiptronic selectshift buttons on it then you could have installed your paddles and prolly wired them directly to the wiring for the select shift buttons on the shifter or wired them thru a relay or a controller or something. Don't get me wrong I like your way wayy better lol, ditch the 5r55 and get a 6r80 with a sweet trans controller that actually interfaces with the PCM and has complete control over the trans, I'm for that lol. I have a supercharged 01 XPLR Sport 2 door with an Eaton m90 blower from a Thunderbird Supercoupe, I have the same 4.0 V6 in my Explorer that comes in the 05-09 Stangs (the one currently in my truck is from a stang actually lol) and my truck has a 5r55e trans with a column shifter lol (I kinda like the column shifter 😁, some trucks have the selectshift on the column shifter lol) but doesn't have selectshift like the 5r55s. I was thinking about doin a 5r55s swap on my 01 Boosted XPLR ST so that I could have selectshift with paddles or a sequential shifter mounted to the center but the only thing really stopping me was figuring out how to wire it in(I am a wiring guru, it's just a matter of figuring out what to wire where), id prolly have to use a mustang PCM and redo the wiring harness. The gear ratios between the 5r55s and the 5r55e are just about identical cept 1 or 2 gears might have slightly diff ratios. But I don't wanna go thru all that just to have the same gear ratios with select shift so to the reason why I came up on this vid, I wanna do a 6r80 swap to my 01 explorer, and the trans controller you used is just the kind of thing I've been looking for, Soo good vid lol, my b for writing a whole bunch. 😆✌️✌️
I heard 275 and summer tires and i think in another vid yall said ti was gt500 or something super super nice for the rims themselves but how was the fitment? did you need spacers or have to do anythng?I got a GXP Bonnie for reference and would love to have fatter tires!
Charlie Kirk's brother. LOL.The 3800.superchareged SSEI was a nice ride..I sold a few of them at Daytona Pontiac/ GMC..They were fast &"the interior was plush with all the seat options & gouges on windshield piller..Nice leather to.
I hung a great big turbo off the back of my 3800 without removing the trunk. So I still have somewhere to put tools and stuff when driving and/or going to the track. But as you said in a previous reply, you car is just going to be race only. So who cares for the trunk? Except the Fiero purists! 😄😉
@@JuryRigGarage Yeah, without the trunk, you have all the room to make your custom exhaust. I'm not a Fiero purist, but I try to keep the car as much as stock that is posible. Here in France, a road going car has to pass bi- annuel inspections. Cutting out the trunk is too obvious for the inspector. And would not pass!😒
And to be fair, most of the rigidity comes from the rear subframe/engine mounting into the vehicle. It would be a good idea to lose the rear bumper and make a stronger/ lighter tube steel bumper for room especially if you end up having an exhaust that exits in a different location.
I would keep the heat honestly, even still for defrost and things like that while racing. Comfort in the winter. Its almost no cost to have it. Awesome stuff though!
