I'd love to know what his feet, socks, and boots smell like after being in them for a 16 hour day. I remember when I was in basic in 97, my bunk mate below me was a 19 year old recruit, and he kept very good hygiene but after 16 hours in the brutal heat of South Carolina, his feet smelled but after about 10 days he developed athletes foot, and then they really reaked, fortunately he wasn't the only one who had that issue. This may sound weird but I don't care, for me there is nothing sexier than a man that has that sweaty smell.
But did you hit the target? I have two of these, an ArmiSport and a Pedersoli. Having had poor accuracy I started researching everything I could about minie balls, Pritchett balls, Burton balls, ect. I dove into the research and development involved in these rifles from mid 19th century British and French sources. I'm of the opinion these people knew what they were doing. They used the progressive rifling for a reason. If the modern companies reproduced the progressive rifling these guns would be at least twice what they cost now...but to stabilise a large/ long bullet at these slow speeds and slow rate of twist, one almost needs progressive rifling. Frustrating.
What size minie ball do you recommend for a Springfield and an Enfield? Fill nottom of ball w lube? Any tips? I understand what you are saying about rifling. Just want to improve what i can.
Bro having that chisel grind is a huge advantage for anything combat related. For one faster field sharpening you only need to sharpen it on 1 side then remove the burr on the other. Second the chisel grind creates a pull push motion making asymmetrical cut that is harder to close and harder to stitch. The chisel grind cuts on one side on the grind side it is wedging material apart if it’s skin is wedging, stretching, tearing and ripping skin open it will make a much larger wound channel that won’t close in on its self (skin is elastic and with a symmetrical cut it want to close in on its self) 3rd the chisel grind makes it stronger. Aus 8 is a simple soft steel plently hard enough to burry in flesh and hold up but yeah concrete will usually fold it over. You won’t get good edge retention with aus 8 but if your using it for it purpose which is stabbing u prob won’t notice it will go right through. Keep in mind people have been successful in self defense and offense with plastic shanks wood spikes bic pens glass ceramics and major wars and battles have been won in history with just bronze weapons which is way softer then aus 8. Won’t keep its edge but I have a little tanto in that steel and it takes me about 20 secs to put a legit working edge in it to get back in the fight I’ve seen people bend it and straighten it back I’ve see edges fold over on a chisel grind and brought back to a function edge by debuting it on cement stay open minded that grind and the fuller Make it a great stabbing weapon I would like to see it in something like 3v though that would take away most of your margin for error
going in as a college e4 11x with an airborne option april 27th I played ice hockey and boxed my entire life, any advice you'd throw my way before shipping, Im on the quiet side but my pt will be on point
Sounds like your well ahead of the curb. Advice would be soak it all in, have fun soak it all in. College taught you nothing about hunting and killing men, know that be humble the only thing in the military that matters is real works experience so college will mean nothing to anyone there. Your older than most joining that is good that maturity under your belt will help you see through the games and focus on the end goal. My advice for you is excel dive in learn all you can shut the outside world out until you come home and when the Ranger Recruiters come around for RASP selection go!!!!! Or for SF selection!! Have confidence in yourself and don't give up and you will be successful. Good luck brother.
@@Americanstrong5 thank you for your time and advice it is highly appreciated, unfortunately my gt score was 103, 2 points shy of being able to volunteer for rasp, I took the asvab during finals week while I was in college I didn’t really have time to brush up on high school level algebra do you think if my PT score is high enough the recruiter for rangers will waive it?
@@Americanstrong5 I have the chance to retake the ASVAB, do you think its worth it to raise my gt by 2 points considering I could possibly score lower? or should I just send it and see what happens?
Raise em right!! Haha that's my buddy's little brother we always told him he didn't know how lucky he was to be able to go out and a shoot all these cool guns with his older brothers.
