MegaMilesBen videos are automotive repair and budget tool review videos made for your entertainment. Though they are entertainment only videos, you may find some good information for replacing various car parts, installing lift kits, leveling kits and drop kits as well as budget tool reviews and helpful hints and tips. I work mostly on toyota, lexus, honda, acura, nissan, ford, chevy, dodge, jeep and others. I am a self taught mechanic of 30+ years in the field. I do not do everything "by the book".
I do hope that my videos will help you with your do it yourself project in some way or another.
I gratefully appreciate your support To MegaMilesBen RU-vid Channel and would be very thankful if you take a moment to share, comment, like or even subscribe!!
@oscarloredo5053 0.044-0.050 in Most plugs come pre gapped but its always good to check them. There should also be a plug gap listed on your catalyst tag on the hood.
@@MegaMilesBen as I was doing this process my #3 ignition coil, and spark plug were covered in oil, but all the other ignition coils, and spark plugs were oil free. Actually #2 coil, and spark plug had some oil, but not much. Any idea what this could mean?? I’m lost.
great job !!! I love that you wiped down the covers when you were finished , shows you care about what you do and take pride in your work! ive watched several videos on this and taking out the fuel rail to clean injectors, youre the only one to do that simple step. Im all finished with everything except plugs, new ones and coil packs arriving today. I appreciate the torque value on the plugs, i didn't know that and no one else listed it
@tylerknowles2408 the ultra torque is a powerhouse! My shop neighbor was coming over to borrow mine all the time instead of his high torque milwaukee so, I got him his own lol. He loves it!
@PatriotPaulUSA thank you! I have a 2 and 1/2 year follow up too. It was another requested video. You can find the link to my reviews in the video description if youd like.
How's the cv axles after these years of the leveling installed. Also is the cv axles have a big angle? You have any pics? And you don't need extended shock brackets?
What made you go with the 3/4 over the 1/4? I'm just asking because I want one and am debating the drive size. It would also be for working on cars. BMW, Mazda, Toyota and Chevy
I dont like using 1/4" drives when it comes to power tools. I use a 1/4" hand ratchet, gives me better feel of what the bolt/nut is doing. You can always use a 3/8" to 1/4" reducer adapter too.
🤣 No 🤣 Its an impact socket tapping the ground. I keep them all close togther. Im too shy of a person to do something like that on camera and not cut it out 😂😂
I wouldnt be able to diagnose something like that one youtube, sorry. Possibly something going on in the timing but theres also about 50 other possibilities depending on the codes. Id recommend a true diagnostics.
Double check the hardware to make sure its not touching the rotors. Also, sometimes the brake shield behind the rotors can touch. Especially if you use them to pull yourself up or anything like that.
I appreciate the you show each step. Are those ceramic disks (if so, do you recommend them)? Ballpark, how much is the entire brake job (parts and labor)?
Theres no ceramic rotors, ceramic pads, yes. I recommend coated rotors to help stop rust build up. PowerStop.com has amazing quality brake packages for half the cost of parts stores. Again, I highly recommend coated rotors. I dont talk labor on youtube. My shop is not a normal shop. My labor is low to help the community and my clients provide their own parts which helps them save a lot more.
Question... In many other videos, there is a step that requires getting to a bolt on/near the rear cover from underneath the vehicle. Did you have to do this as well?
My video shows my entire process. Im not sure about that, I do a lot of Toyota valve covers and tune ups, cant say Ive ever had to go under the car for the job.
Depending how built up the rust is. If you can see the pads have been rubing into it, then yes, they should be turned or replaced. Its almost cheaper to just replace them these days anyway. PowerStop.com has amazing quality brake packages for half the cost of parts stores. I always recommend coated rotors, itll help prevent that rust build up and prolong the life of the rotors.
I feel so dumb for asking, but the things you take off that you bent with pliers what are they called? Cause obviously we're gonna have to buy new ones lol, but I don't know what their called?
Dont feel that way. Its called a snap ring and you want snap ring pliers to get it out. The set I have is like this (I got mine at Harbor Freight)... amzn.to/45DRxsC
That can depend. If you get a generic o2 sensor, it may not go off. I always recommend OEM, NTK or Bosh. Disconnect the battery before you start and leave it disconnected untill youre done. That resets the ecu, clears the codes and gives the car a "fresh start". Disconnect: Negative first. Positive second. Reconnect: Positive first. Negative second.
Great job, good camera work too! I wouldn't recommend anyone to off the cv shaft nut, unless you have experience, I took it off and didn't have a big torque wrench, just torqued it with a long pipe and had no idea how extremely tight got to be, and in the first corner came loose and messed up my wheel bearing too. So don't play with that.
Proper torque can be quite important but yet a lot of newer mechanics dont ever pick one up. You can get torque wrenches on sale for $20 all the time at harbor freight and will save you from stuff like that. So sorry to hear, thats scary.
Wait!! I'm curious how did you press the hub out from the bearing Ring because mine I'm working on getting this pressed out but wasn't sure how you did that but I'm assuming your's fell out from how much Wear it gone through and all this done on my 2013 Kia optima LX front right wheel hub
15:40 this is how I do about 90% of them. The rest I use a slide hammer to pull the hub out while its on the car before unbolting the strut and lower ball joint. 5:02
@@MegaMilesBen what tool did you use to press out the rest of the bearing from the steering knuckle and in your video 18:19 you have used three peases you used to press it out and the size of the diameter?
Bro voice it at the lowest decibel... Seized engine check list Low oil Car powers up and click by no start Crankshaft is super hard to move or can't be moved at all wilth bar
I have very low voice, its the only one I got, sorry. Ive been working on that the more videos I make, its been mentioned before. At least I still help people with my videos, thats all that really matters to me. Yes, thank you for your input and thanks for watching.
@@MegaMilesBen Your very clear in speech... You just sound like Berry white. I'm using Marvel mystery oil in my spark plugs holes to soak the pistons 4 a few days. They said vinegar works the best at unseizing pistons... What's your recommendation?
@HomeRunRealEstate-xi3rm Ive actually never messed with siezed pistons. Theres a lot of info and videos for that. Some work, some dont and sometimes it doesnt matter what you do.
Lmao! Farts? Where? If youre refering to me grunting, Ive had a bad back for most my life, botched back surgery and 5 hernias, one of which has not been meshed. You have no clue how much pain I work through daily to help my community.
Im way to humble for that. I wont even call myself a master mechanic even with 35+ years behind me because you simply cannot master in mechanics. Every single job (even if its the same job) is always different and have their different challenges. Thank you though! And thanks for watching!
I absolutely hate gloves. Never used them in 35+ years and have never had any issue, even with bulbs. Its not "wrong", its a choice. Only time I put gloves on is when removing something hot like an alternator.
I had to return two because the compressors went out. That is the primary reason I bought this item. With that said this one is working really good. I have jumped a Toyota van and charged 12 volt items. I have aired up many of tires , light truck, cars and bikes. I never really had a problem with it holding a charge. I could have just gotten the one good one on the third time.
I took mine back and am doing a new review on the one I got. So far it charges and holds a charge much much better. I havent had to jump anything yet though so Im still waiting for that part of my new review.
Its fantastic job and looks very creepy, I thought I can do that by my own, but Im scary to try after that video, also scary if go to mechanic how much he will take money for such job 😄
I dont talk quotes on youtube. I am not an average shop and my labor is heavily discounted. Plus my clients provide their own parts. It wont compare to anyone else.
Harbor Freight rules! just signed up for the 1 yr. membership. my new hobby is gonna be collecting tools! After my Father passed back in 19', Ive been the man of the house and have had to amass quite a collection of tools. My Dad had the basics. 60 gal air compressor. impact. basic hand tools. He had a collection of Bosch battery tools. I stuck with Bosch cuz we had batteries. I will continue to stick with Bosch as i have grown accustomed to the brand. however, in the future, i will try my hand at saving money and will buy Hercules tools to get a collection going. I will only buy with coupons as well! My Bosch tools will be my main go to at home, but the Hercules seems to be the ones i will take with me on travel jobs. working with friends etc... at home im working remodeling a mobile home. just got a 2011 ford fusion to restore. planty of other hobbies that will require MANY MORE TOOLS!!!
Sounds like you stay pretty busy! Ive definately saved a lot of money with the Hercules line up. I also have a 2 1/2 year follow up. You can find the link to my reviews in the video description. Thanks for watching!
You probably have a bad one. Take it back for return. I took mine back and am doing a new review on the one I got. So far it charges and holds a charge much much better. I havent had to jump anything yet though so Im still waiting for that part of my new review.
@@MegaMilesBen Thank you for responding. The lowlife that sold me the car removed the check engine light bulb. I found out the hard way. Thank you for your help.
