What a contrast with today. 'On sunny afternoons and evenings the forecourt of the Pitt Rivers museum is thronged with unwashed undergraduates trying to put the world to rights in their own inimitable way...'
My mother spent the war years in Oxford as a VAD (Voluntary Aid Detachment). She was billeted first in the home of Major Rise, owner if Elliston and Cavells Department Store (later Debenhams). Later billeted in Lincoln College, a mens college, but they had all gone to war. She loved Oxford all her life and would visit regularly. Favourite pub The Trout at Wolvercote.
Myrna is an immensely talented actress. Her skills are delivered with diabolical sublety. A side-eyed glance here, or a barely visible smirk there, and all done with impeccable timing. One of, if not THE best ever.
I found that out in the '60s, having to listen to a tutor rabbiting on about Bob Dylan [even back then!] instead of concentrating on things more relevant to the degree course. He thought there was 'profundity' in the singer's lyrics and still does (at age 90). Probably the only person at my college to make the big time was a Welshman (like his tutor) who moved to France and slept [via the billionairess-owner of a cosmetics company] his way to a multi-million franc fortune.
Very third rate haunting music , like some cheap horror movie music, it spoils the whole experience. There should have been more of the chugging sound of the steam engine.
I’m bemused by your character name. I agree I remember Oxford when I was young. I now live in Cornwall my family and grandchildren will remember Cornwall in the same way
I know this is unrelated to video, but Bonnie Franklin never got props for being one of the best sitcom moms ever. She was neurotic and too nervous acting, but she really loved Barb and Julie. She was there and did the best she could. Didnt take crap from Julie either. She was good at being mom. I dont like the show in general because its too silly with the janitor all the time, but she was a great mom.
Jeez, animal abuse, if the monkey was not hit with a pebble from the slingshot...it was assumed. That's animal abuse, even though most have met their demise as far as people, more than likely, if not all, still cruel.
I think by 1980 Good quality cameras came in the market.. But still this video is very poor quality… But any how I enjoyed the video, regardless of quality.. Thank you for uploading this video
