People saying that Millicent was wrong, didn't watch the whole thing and clearly hold material possessions higher than family bonds. In other words, only shallow people would think Millicent was wrong.
I dated a guy in high school who used to " sniff my hair" he was the only " college boy" I ever dated and we just didn't " get " each other. He was overeager when we " kissed" I literally felt like I was being " choked" 😂 and his roommates kept telling him he was " wasting time" with me because I " wasn't going to have sex with him"( they were right) 😂 and he was also the only guy I had dated who had a car. He scared me because I was" cautious " and he drove with one hand on the wheel and another around me. I was such a " dork" that I was afraid he was going to have an accident 😂😂❤
My grandmother wouldn't let any of the girls in the family date 🌹 or even wear makeup 💄 until we were at least sixteen. I didn't really have to worry about it I was a late bloomer. The only guys who showed interest in me were ones that liked to take advantage of " young unsuspecting girls" it was never about my family " not trusting me" it was about them knowing that there were people who were actually predators and I never lied about my age because I couldn't even pass for someone my own age.
I remember accidentally walking into the men's shower 🚿 room my first day at the homeless shelter ( I was mortified) 😂 some guy blew a kiss 💋 at me and said " Do you want to take a shower with me?" Umm 😳 no .
It was totally taboo to buy clothes at Kmart, Pic N Save, Salvation Army, or Goodwill. Now people go out of their way to buy clothes at thrift & discount 😅
I think that I feel sorry for Dorothy Jane because even though her family is a good family it can be hard to feel like you don't fit in. And even though Dorothy Jane does love her family, I can sort of understand her longing and heartache she might be feeling. I love her the beginning and end of these episodes she talks to the man in the moon.
Brittany Murphy really carries the comedy of this show. I liked her so much in this and when she was in Clueless. Once she got super skinny i felt she wasnt as relatable anymore. Still love her.
This episode is probably my all-time favorite. The actress who plays Dorothy Jane was so talented. Her facial expression as she's watching her father dial the phone in the kitchen is just perfect, in my opinion. She has that same crestfallen look in the episode where her classmate shames her about wearing a Salvation Army dress (my second favorite episode!) She's also one of my all-time favorite TV characters. I would've loved to be friends with her at that age. She's bookish and sensitive, like I was at that age.
