Athletic talent, but with low skilled pass rushing technique. He’s without much help on the other side of the d-line in Minnesota. I don’t see him dominating, but who knows.
Coming from great coaching and going to a good defensive coordinator. He does get sloppy in games but his technique isn’t bad and his biggest asset is getting at the QB so his pass rush skills can’t be low
The QB from Canada that played for Florida shows the way. Jesse wasn’t a great QB but he looks good. I see Sam in the broadcasting booth and hosting “The Bachelor”.
Veteran Pass Rusher Emmanuel Ogbah is only 30 years old. The Lions should take a flyer on him. If he fits a one year deal should work. This move could help the Lions get into the Super Bowl
He's going to play in the slot here in Detroit. This way we can put Brian Branch at safety..OTA he was talked about positively all week. He's physical and aggressive, so we are very pleased with the draft pick. ONEPRIDE 🙏
This is easy. There have been multiple examples of great college qbs that couldn't make the practice squad for NFL teams. NFL football is a different game. Ask the Raiders or the Titans how their star college picks Vince Young and Jamarcus Russell faired.
Detroit has one of the best development coaching staffs in the NFL. His aggressive style fits well in Detroit. If he stays healthy, this will be the start of a great career
Praise Jesus that he made it to the NFL and answered his mom's prayers. This is the real God that we serve. It's not a religion, it's the real God accept him today. Seek him.
Nobody cares about a USC QB battle when USC hasn't been the playoffs (even with Heisman winner Caleb Williams) and isn't winning the Big 10. USC isn't beating OSU, Oregon, Washington, Michigan and Penn State. This is just filler content for Memorial Day weekend.
I agree with you on the Baltimore stand until I asked myself will the Lions have to face Baltimore? For the most part no. Baltimore will never beat the Chiefs. This is an incredible ride with the Lions enjoy it. Every team has 3 teams they just can't beat. The Chiefs can't beat Goff.
I respectfully disagree with all these opinions that suggest Hartman "should have stayed at Wake Forest" and/or he "would have had a better season." The fact of the matter is that he had run his course at Wake Forest. He spent 5 years there already and had GRADUATED. He was ready for a NEW CHALLENGE (and who knows -- perhaps he realized that it would be unfair to remain at Wake Forest and thereby DENY HIS fellow Wake QB TEAMMATES the opportunity to start/play if he hogged 6 years of eligibility there ... whereas at ND there was the added benefit of no QB of his caliber ready to lead the Fighting Irish to the next level ... so it was a good match). Additionally, ND saves the ACC at least 5 slots on its schedule, so Hartman actually had the best of both worlds in having new challenges and experiences (e.g., playing in Ireland vs. Navy, playing Ohio State, playing USC and at Stanford, etc. while also facing familiar ACC teams such as Duke, Louisville, Clemson, and his old team Wake). I'm sure Sam Hartman saw the move as an opportunity to SHOWCASE himself nationally as well (all ND home games are on NBC, plus multiple away games are on national TV too. Finally, being the starting QB at ND provided Hartman MASSIVELY MORE NIL $$$ and endorsement $$$ than he would have been able to earn by remaining at WF for season #6. I also believe he monumentally enjoyed his year at ND, the coaching staff, and his new teammates. To the extent that Sam Hartman went undrafted, I believ he "hurt himself" by opting out of ND's bowl game. Had he played -- a game the Irish won handily with a back-up QB, he likely would have put up "pinball game numbers" to impress the scouts. But more to the point, he would have remained practicing with the team and he would have stayed "in football shape" through December and early January heading into the Senior Bowl. Instead, by opting out of ND's bowl game (which was really silly to do IF he was committed to playng in the Senior Bowl), his last real football practice and game prior to later in January was in November @ Thanksgiving. Consequently, despite continuing to "work out privately" (which is NOT the same), I think Sam Hartman was very "rusty" in the Senior Bowl and did NOT show well. I believe that hurt his draft stock considerably -- MUCH MORE than having only average performances against Ohio State and Clemson ... because he did NOT hab a "bad" season at ND at all.
There is NO battle here at all. Don't know where you're getting your information from, but your sources are incorrect !! Miller Moss is the clear #1. 2 years in the system and his knowledge of the playbook , makes him a no-brainer ! Not to mention Miller's Bowl performance ! Miller has taken the job during Spring ball with his leadership and work effort !
As a South Carolina Gamecock, I love this kid, and think he's the perfect compliment to Cook. He might get us 10 touchdowns next year, both in goal line runs and receptions.
When u consider how many 1st round QBs are a bust its hard to believe someone hasnt invited him to camp or etc?? I think theres no less then 20 NFL Teams that would love to find the next Tony Romo or kurt warner..
Hartman was just not that good overall, ever, and he was never a serious candidate for a NFL draft pick. That’s that. Still like the guy, but he is right should he be: a free agent. Balls now in his court.
