Damn I thought maybe the chanting was in some kind of other language but nah it's just gibberish noises even though it sounds epic and like some sort of incantation. 😂Also I had no idea they were singing in English this whole time, well at least parts of it. I thought it was all Japanese lol. I'm actually a little bit disappointed to learn the meaning of some of the lyrics. "I have to do my homework and go to bed"? Wtf?! 😂Such epic music but then the lyrics are about mundane shit. Then again, I guess that's pretty apt for Attack on Titan too, in a way. I love the symbolism and irony in the lines "Angels playing disguised/With devil's faces". Usually it's the other way around, devils with angelic faces, wolves in sheep's clothing. It makes sense, considering the true nature of Titans and how they are actually just innocent people transformed into monsters. It also fits with the whole "devil-blood" thing and racism towards Eldians. People see them as devils, but they are actually just innocent people (angels) that originally knew nothing of the world outside Paradis thanks to King Fritz's memory manipulation and, like everybody else, these "devils" have loved ones. Others that they care about, and people who care about them. They have hopes, dreams, fears, just like everyone else.
This is sort of cringe but I have this whole AMV of this song in my head for the first part of season1, and I like to imagine it's centred around the Declaration of War. I always picture the main voice is Eren with the scouts and warriors as chorus, and the higher voice is Lara as she's about to transform/fighting as the Warhammer.
I used to think that the choir is singing ‘las vidas’ like about all the lives lost. Now I see it is ‘ra-ti-ti-ta’ which is the sound a machine gun makes
They cooked with this op the best op of the series imo then the very next season they released absolute shit for an opening i was so hyped to hear it for the first time expecting to be as fire as the last one but i was surprised that it was straiggt metal bullshit
I think it was the shock of getting something different from linked horizon. It is one of those things that age like wine. I was also one of those people who didn't like it at first.
honestly, during season 4 part 1 i honestly didnt even feel bad about the Marley's, I actually held on hatred to them. Especially when Eren hijacks the Show the tybur blonde guy was having. Damn it just felt like sweet revenge. No remorse for any of the dead marley's in my own personal experience.
awh god its been 3 years im still obsessed with this opening, this song has so much energy that you can start a whole new war with it lol. best 2 openings are shinzou wo sasageyo and my war fr.
