3:30 So just to be clear, Eggs don't work like they did in sun and moon where they're pre-determined if certain variables remain the same right? so if you collect 90 eggs like you do in this video and you hatch them, they DO re-roll each time rather than being pre-determined? I know the answer is likely yes because you wouldn't have kept doing this method if it was no but I just want to make sure, thanks lol.
Egg is determined when its made, not hatched. I was picking up different eggs each time cos i reload to a save point before i made them. This saved time in the past as you didnt have to release 500 non shiny mons. Nowadays pokemon home makes this method obsolete
The shinies of an egg is determined when the egg is generated though, making soft reseting with a box full of eggs pointless. Correct me if that’s not what you meant in the video. Take care!
yes you are right so we saved before you get the egg and reset to that point, the whole point is that it gets rid of the need to mass release or, back when this was made, release one by one
A ditto caught in a game with a different language than yours. EG If you get a Ditto from a game that was in Spanish it would have a SPA in the details page and would be a foreign ditto
i hatched all boxes to see if there was a shiny. sorry if that wasnt clear. However now with pokemon home i wouldnt suggest this method if you are a new shiny hunter or pokemon player. just use pokemon home to mass release
@@TheCaddington sry i was angry and i just would attention. I was talking about the fact that if u breed with ditto u lost some eggs. In Fact if pokemon of the same species breed together there will be more eggs.
Finally someone mentioned the save before breeding method, I've thought that method and have used it, I was just very unsure if it worked since I was 800+ eggs in, however I used the regular masuda methods (mass deleting after finishing) and I got probably more so, I think I just have bad luck.
nah its a good worry because back in sun and moon this method wouldnt have worked. back then, the eggs were already determined several eggs out. This allowed for a "Swap" method with a magikarp. You could breed magikarps (quickest egg hatches) and find a shiny. Then you could turn off the game and replace it with your desired shiny and it would be there on the same number of eggs as the magikarp.
if i hard save after i get all my eggs then hatch all of them and none of them are shiny then reset then load back up, my eggs will still be there but they have the same stats. so does that mean that bunch wont be shiny and ill have to breed a different patch of eggs in order to get the shiny?
I've hatched a little over 20 eggs somewhat recently. (A little over 80, total) Nothing has shone, ever. And yeah, I know, I've gotten literally nowhere. I fail to see WHY it's worth doing this.
its really down to your preference. if you dont like it dont do it. Some mons you have to get by egg hunting so thats why its useful, its also quite passive so you dont need to focus. I do prefer seeing them out in the wild though rather than egg hunting.
@@TheCaddington I suppose I'm doing it to get a shiny, but I've barely gotten anywhere in that regard. Only once did I MM a shiny, but that was quite some time ago.
did you get dropped on the head as a child? look at the comments idiot, also this was made nearly a year ago dumbass when people didnt know these things
Hello Caddy! I got a bit confused on this, do I save first before starting breeding eggs right? not after I got them from the boxes and hatching them right?
Bro I’ve used the mesuda method with a foreign ditto and a greninja, I also have a shiny charm with increases the odds to a 1/400 something..I’ve filled up 11 boxes 0 shinys
I did the mesuda method, use flame body, and have the shiny charm. It's like a 1/500 chance. I've hatched at least 7 box's of froakie and having to release them is annoying
I did all you said to do. 500 boxes later, still not one shiny.with a ditto from another version in another language and the shiny charm. Wtf.why can't I just get one?
@@emily-eh9te I get how you feel but after attempting this. I can confirm it does work. I got a shiny Rookidee by doing this. Just keep at it. I know you will eventually get one.
I just hated myself I spent hours n hours doing 3 shiny egg hunting charmander ratls n quaxly just when I managed to get a shiny quaxly never save 5 hours late game crash n lost my shiny quaxly 😮💨😔🥹🥺😭
There's a faster way make sure you have your ditto and the pokemon your breeding in your party and make sure your box is empty and save your game next to the gastronomie en famille restaurant in the town alfornada that's the bottom left hand side of the map they will sell you the food with egg power 2 so you sign in buy that food and then place a picnic it save all that time that you have to make the sandwich hope that helps
You are the only youtuber that tells people about the baskets max of 10 eggs and I thank you as I have wasted so much time trying to fill the basket by waiting 30 minutes before grabbing them
Man thank you for saying there could be max 10 pokemon in the basket, i was trying to get shiny froakie and i was wondering why i was getting so few eggs.
I have a quick question about shiny hunting by breeding. So lets say i breed 100 eggs, it isnt determined if one is shiny until i hatch it? My friend tried telling me that it is decided if it is shiny or not once you have the egg but this video makes it sound like the rng dont start until you actually hatch the egg.
How do it all work is my question. I have two foreign dittos one from jpn and ita. I always use my jpn ditto but somehow by accident while I was already 180 eggs in for a shiny I used the ita ditto for a egg run. Did that screw my odds. Also do u have to get the shiny in one run and can’t close the game and put it away because it will start you all over. Is there a counter or something so confusing. Now because of all this I am over odds for this shiny currently 561 eggs in…..😢
and foreign ditto is good, changing the nationality doesnt matter. I count my eggs by myself, theres apps for it. You can close the game, but if you save and close the game you will have to release all the non shinys eggs and thats takes time, but you can. Just keep at it and youll get it, it seems you are doing it right. my Sprig took 1500 eggs even tho i was doing it with best odds. Sometimes luck isnt on your side
Idk if this is still relevant to you but you have to restart all the way back to before you breed the eggs because the shininess of eggs are determined once they're made and not when they're hatched I think the same applies to stats as well but I'm not so sure on that
