Hi, there is a store in my country that are selling two lenovos legion slim 5 (2024) one has rzyen 7 7735hs, 16gb, 4070 laptop, 1600p 165hz, and the other has the ryzen 8845hs, 16gb, 4060 laptop, 1600p 165hz, I am interested for very heavy multi window heavy work, listening to music, videos, demanding video games, which one do you recommend, which one is much better, is there much difference, do you think the one with the 4070 laptop I should buy?
Do you recommend it for playing video games? They say that the legion slim is very flat and gets very hot because of the ventilation, is it true? I really like the legion slim
@@danilojavierpinedavalera Which one do you think is better if they have the same graphics card and one has a newer, faster processor? There's a website called CPU Benchmark you can check CPU speeds on, and video card Benchmark will show you GPU speeds.
Do you think the 4060 laptop and the 4070 laptop are the same? It is the only difference they have together that one has a ryzen 7 7735hs and the other ryzen 7 8845hs.
Hello! Thank you so much for this video. I just had a few questions. What graphics card is in the 8845HS? And did you run the test with the dedicated graphics card active or inactive? If you find the time, could you please check the discharge rate (youtube vid/excel/similar) on the 8845HS with dgpu inactive, 60Hz, 50% brightness, balanced power mode, and keyboard RGB turned off? I am debating whether or not I should get a slim for schoolwork/gaming but I can't find many reviews on the new 9th gen one online.
@@zor05 I can't get it below 15w discharging. I was on half brightness and 60hz, keyboard RGB on. Didn't use the 4070 dedicated GPU. I already packed them up to send back. I did work with just Excel and chrome open near max brightness which is what I do for work... Only got about four hours out of the 8845.
@@zor05 No, should be able to get 6 for light tasks. Not sure if the 8845 needs an update in Windows or what. The nearly identical 7840HS in the Framework seems to get about 6 hours for light stuff. Not sure what the issue is here. And users report the Asus TUF A16 getting eight hours of light usage. I really need something that can go for at least 8 so I can get a workday out of it.
@@stevenswall The reviewers I've seen online have been getting 6-9 hours doing light tasks on this Laptop (2 reviews only, laptopmedia and Tech Guy Beau on youtube) This is according to Windows estimated time though (not sure if this is the case for LaptopMedia though).
Hey help me with it. Should i be going with the Legion 5i 14650hx rtx 4070 or the Legion slim 5 amd ryzen 7 8845Hs rtx 4070? The amd version costs 60 usd more here in India. I’m just afraid to buy the intel version due to its recent processor issues.
@@DrDhyan-wr6fi Go with the AMD, they are more efficient. Until Intel releases a follow-up to the Core Ultra, AMD doing much better for regular CPU series and the HX AI 3xx series is even better.
@@turtle7701 It does not from what I can see. I know they are a bit behind though with the software as the AI 300 series chips don't support copilot yet but will with a later Windows update. Maybe then it will be supported better and show in the task manager.

some of the framework's wacky behavior might be up to the liquid metal? not 100% sure on the dynamics, but it might want some more soaking time to perform well (which comes at the cost of punchy but infrequent tasks)(maybe)
I don’t understand the hype over Kali LP-8’s. I’ve had mine for about two or three years; the hiss annoys me, and I still have trouble getting my mixes to translate. It’s always after I go to the car that I make adjustments for translation. Maybe it’s my room, but you’d think I would’ve been able to figure it out by now, but nope, every time I mix something I’m never sure if it’s going to sound good until I go to the car.
Try the IN-8 and you may need more room treatment if your car, full of soft surfaces and low reverb time, sounds better. The early units did hiss, and now they've fixed it.
@@stevenswall another issue I’ve noticed with these is how the frequency response is way different at lower volumes than at higher volumes. I pretty much have to crank them up to get them to be the most accurate. I’ve ruined many mixes trying to mix with these at lower levels.
@@cbrooks0905 What is your source? They shouldn't be doing any kind of dynamic volume or loudness contour. If you're comparing them to the car, the car may do some loudness contours that keep the bass higher relative to the mids and highs.
@@stevenswall not sure what you mean by what my source is, but what I’m talking about is they basically don’t seem to “open up” until they get to a certain loudness. And that seems to be around 75-85 db on my SPL meter. I heard someone else say the same thing. It could be my room, which these are supposed to help with, but there’s also not much clarity in the high end on these things either. My vocals have really harsh sibilance, but when I mix on these it doesn’t even bother me.
I think the „soft“ fonts on the FW16 come from the upscaling. Does this still happen when you put the scaling to 100% instead of 125% / 150% etc.? I‘m having the same issue with my Dell Inspiron which has a 2k panel. In the end it‘s a windows/software related problem (if the problem is what I think it is)
A new one of these or something you built yourself? I just made the PC I built quieter than the Cooler Master Cooling X by going into the power plan advanced settings and putting it to only go to 90% CPU power.... Now the fans run at half speed and it's as quiet as this $4000 machine. Love the engineering and Cooler Master going out on a limb with the custom tooling and water for the case, but I really want them to reply to my email so that I can know what's going on and if it's a solvable problem.
No, it's like comparing a sports car to a Toyota Camry and the Camry beating it. Windows 11 on a modern upper midrange to high end CPU machine should beat Windows 10 running on a 12 year old machine.
Framework comes into its own when you start speccing up RAM memory. Being able to bring your own reels in pricing no end. I don't understand in this day and age how midrange and high end laptops start with 16GB ram never mind 8GB. Use an Intel MacBook pro, and it doesn't take much to start hammering that 16GB.
i'm not sure what the test is here. You're testing 2 different computers with 2 completely different versions of Windows. How do you know what is due to the laptop and what's due to the OS?
The W530 is a nice machine, not as fast as most newer computers, but still holds up for a 12 year old computer. Not sure why the framework would have those issues though.
@@stevenswall Windows 11 is a disaster. Windows 10 was rock-solid, but Windows 11 is just significantly slower. It's a pity newer laptops don't come with Windows 10 anymore
This is taken out of context. While vitamin D is good for you, all this means is that the last brand likely fed their hens a bit of a different diet that made their eggs contain more vitamin D. It doesn't make one brand of eggs less 'healthy' than the other, they're still chicken eggs. And if you look carefully the last brand also says vegetarian fed. ^^
Vitamin d Is fat soluble and getting it from a food source that has it naturally dissolved in the fat seems like a healthy thing to me versus the same food source without that nutrient. Why wouldn't you want more nutrient dense eggs with a better ratio of omega-3s to omega-6? And yes, vegetarian fed, because there are a bunch of nutrients you won't get from just grain feeding.
@@stevenswall Sure, it's a good thing. I'm just saying that it doesn't make the other ones less healthy or unhealthy. There are many factors that might not be reflected in the nutritional value. Like for example environmental stress caused by the way the hens are treated/accomodated. Have you considered that the difference between the nutritional values could be attributed to different breeds of hens? One brand sells white eggs and the other one sells brown eggs after all.
@@michalsvihla1403 I've looked up the differences between white and brown eggs and it doesn't seem the different species of hens have a significant difference in the nutritional value based on egg color alone. I think brown eggs are probably a scam most of the time, but I'm willing to pay more for more nutrient dense food which these seem to bed. Not aware of any research on the stress of the chicken affecting nutritional content.

While environmental stress might not show up on the nutritional value, it definitely would affect the egg quality, which is why nutritional values aren't necessarily representative of 'healthiness'. Come on, how can you call brown eggs a scam? 😅 They just come from a different breed of hens...
@@michalsvihla1403 I call them a scam because people assumed that they are healthier, when there is no nutritional data to back that up. Changing the diet of an animal has proved to change the nutritional content of meat and eggs though. (Grassfed beef, the recommended eggs here, grassfed milk cows, etc.) You seem skeptical of how an egg with more nutrients could be more healthy... how are you measuring whether things are better or worse since the stress on the chicken doesn't have measurements showing that it affects the nutritional content like diet does?
Haven't tested that. It does lose power if running something demanding, but the reviewers I've seen say it's not a problem unless you are gaming for 8 hours straight.
Yeah, wish I could afford a ThinkPad at the same price, and then another one with similar specs. Part of me thinks the P16 If it has Thunderbolt 5 and an Intel Core Ultra will probably be the best thing for me if it has good battery life.
@@stevenswall I personally would like to see the P16s gen 2 AMD. It has the 7840U with integrated graphics, 32/64 GB of LPDRR5x RAM clocked at 6400Mhz (which makes a big difference with these ryzen chips) and an 86Wh battery - which must give insane battery lfie paired with that hardware. Plus a 4k OLED panel.
My framework 16 on windows 11 has significantly less latency mentioned, extracting and installing the latest davinci resolve, while unplugged (and with this youtube video playing and a million firefox tabs open in the background)
What has your battery life experience (number of hours and what your workload is) been so far (or if this is a really new purchase, maybe after youve had a few days to use it?) Thanks!
I need to put the GPU back in but I'm currently getting 6 hours browsing, maybe 5.5 with RU-vid, with the GPU removed if I'm at 2/3 brightness and in power saving mode rather than balanced or performance. With the GPU I couldn't get more than 2:30 even idling.
Crumbl is predatory and sues companies they don't want to compete with... And Chip cookie co. in Utah existed long before Crumbl. Dirty dough is a better company with a poor tasting product. Crumbl is a terrible company with great marketing and a slightly better tasting product. Chip, Crave, Blox, and Goodly Cookies put Crumbl to shame though.

I agree that they do sue companies that are competition at times but Dirty Dough was a completely justified law suit if you’ve looked at what exactly they are suing for-it’s valid and I’d be surprised if they don’t win it. I’ve never tried any of the other ones. Tbh I just tried Crumbl for the first time a month ago so I’m pretty unbiased and not really a Crumbl stan either 😂
@@Raeonneptune the few parts that I saw of the lawsuit were an elongated cardboard box, whimsical artwork, and cookies with sprinkles that looked the same. All of those seem absolutely ridiculous to me. The only thing I could see is if recipes were actually stolen which doesn't seem proven, and the cookies taste radically different to me, and I don't think you can copyright a recipe anyhow. Or maybe it's patenting that you can't do with a recipe.

@@101Licious If you click on the 0:41 in your comment the frame clearly shows the waveguide of the JBL 7 series with the compression driver grill in the middle. If you're talking about the one after it, I think that is the HEDD Type 05.

This topic drives me crazy after I bought my first Studio Monitors ... Presonus Eris 4,5. And they HISS very loud. Was thinking about to buy the Yamaha, but they are too large for my desk. Not easy.
