The simpler a vehicle is the more reliable it is .My 97 year old single speed bicycle is testament to this. It let me down once when it had a puncture .It cost 7 shillings and sixpence when it was new, and I recently turned down an offer of £2000 for it. it costs pennys a year to run and in its lifetime has cost the price of a spanner a screwdriver and maybe 3 cans of oil for all the services it has had, EVER.I'm reasonable shure it will last the rest of my life then it will become the property of one of my grand children and last the the rest of their lives as well.

Vehicles were already money pits; now its much worse with EVs what with high depreciation and inability to repair them. Because the battery packs are a single unit and not repairable, the life of the vehicle is how long the battery pack lasts, because they cannot be repaired or replaced in a cost effective way. Why should buyers shoulder this high price, with a limited life of the vehicle. Compare to an ICE vehicle where you can replace components in a cost effective way, and even the engine from a doner vehicle if it completely fails. I will stick with old ice vehicles and keep my money in the bank!

You realistically need a garage to have an ev for the charger. Apartment dwellers and renters are out of luck. Teslas for rich people will not solve reliance on fossil fuels. Heating homes never even discussed. Evs also have much more limited range in the cold.

Ultimately, the government push for EVs will prove to be a ruse for mass transit. In order to ensure EVs thrive by their own merit, and we aren't compelled into higher costs, limited access, and resource shortages, the people *MUST* get the government out of leveraging markets: we must rely on consumer market demand to define how, when, and where EVs thrive. Otherwise, low and middle-income consumers will be remanded to walking, biking, sharing rides, mass transit. There will be additional horrendous costs for taxpayers.

There's a Buck-ee's here where I live that's about 1/2 way between Dallas and Houston on I-45. When you go in there on a Holiday Weekend, ALL 24 of the Tesla Only SuperCharging Stations are full with dozens waiting to get in. There are also 8 Non-Tesla chargers behind the Shell Station and 8 Non Tesla chargers at the Walmart. Needless to say, if your EV runs down, you MIGHT be sitting a while to get it charged on the weekend/holiday/hurricane evacuation/etc.

You are right there are not enough chargers today for every car to be an EV. But why would you want that today? Here In the uk in 2024 there are 1.1 million EVs and 66,000 public charging points. More than enough for the current EV fleet, the public chargers get an average of 90 minutes use per day. Why build more now? when you remember that 80% of charging is done at home and most of that over night.

A big turn around will be when charge range goes beyond 500miles. This will happen when they start putting solid state batteries into EV's where they are half the weight. If they can get a 1000 mile range, then it will be a no brainer to get one over an ICE. You'll start seeing solid state batteries in about 5 years in EV's. In 20 years, the opinions will flight against ICE engines at that point as gas stations start becoming more scarce.

Zero Emmisions? (As written directly on these EV Vehicles body panels) 😂 more like massive emissions TWICE ! 1) When creating Batteries & EV specific components & the toxic waste by-products as a direct result. Even building the very Vehicle itself with its non existent life span. 2) Then in a few years time the cost per repair is astronimical rendering them unfixable, headed straight for the scrap yard. Well Done, "ZERO EMMISIONS MY ARSE!. (Not even factoring in public EV charging stations power demand on coal/gas power stations. What a complete joke. 🙄 The world gone mad ! (Well atleast in brainwashing the EV sales & consumer buying hogwash, its all smoke & mirrors people) The EV, It's more about a Status Symbol then saving the environment. So shallow & sad & a massive money making conglomerate killing this world as most still continue call it green with zero emissions. 🙄 Note - yes I built a diy offroad true ebike (Lifepo4 cells) but I can "fix & maintain it easily" & have had & enjoyed it for well over 8 years & still going strong. EV "DIY"works on a small scale (eg Light DiY EV like motobikes & E-Bikes) with replacement parts readily available & not astronimical priced, but the mass production of Large EV cars & Trucks & even motocycles on a mass production scale with their specific parts & unatainable spares or the cost vs repair do more harm than good in my opinion.

EVs are soon to be obsolete. New combustion tech that can run on gasoline, Natural Gas, Ethanol (E10 to E100), propane will be 75% in combined cycle (cruise) and 55%-60% Peak power and on average. An Otto cycle engine is 15% on average and 30% peak. A Diesel is 18% unloaded and 35% to 42% in loaded Semi trucks. Try: 150 MPG HWY, 240 MPG City, 200 MPG average. 20 gallons is 4000 miles of range. This includes CO2 and water capture with 40 gal pressure tanks that allow optional Natural gas from house at 1200 PSI. Engine compresses gas.... 60 gallons total with no capture gives12,000 mile range, or 1 year of EU driving. No EV need apply... The key is making fuel. H2 is a silly stupid concept as a fuel. Never work. Ethanol is the ideal fuel. We can use corn or Electro ethanol and be 100% off oil for cars, trucks, boats, light airplanes and houses/buildings. Ethanol is ideal to power a house/building due to low fire risks and storage. Make fuel from solar THERMAL and be up to 45 times cheaper than a 100% solar PV/wind grid. No point to EVs...NONE. All BEVs, FCEVs, hybrids, Otto/Diesel engines are obsolete. There are over 100 reasons this new tech will be the future. CO2 and water capture are key to fire safety and making fuels from solar. No wind/solar PV/battery grid is wanted or needed. All will go bankrupt with one nice lawsuit. HINT

Meanwhile, from the real world: "As of July 17, 2024, electric vehicle (EV) sales in the United States were growing in 2024, with a 22.9% increase from the first quarter to the second quarter and an 11.3% increase year-over-year. In the second quarter, 330,463 fully-electric vehicles were sold, which was a record high volume"..............and............"In 2024, electric car sales in the United States are projected to rise by 20% compared to the previous year, translating to almost half a million more sales, relative to 2023. Despite reporting of a rocky end to 2023 for electric cars in the United States, sales shares are projected to remain robust in 2024." And BTW, autos are a *global* market and with the largest market in the world (China) eclipsing the 50% mark for % of new car sales being EVs (along with other countries), if you don't know how to make an EV, you are toast. The reat of thr world has moved on, why cant the US? Its because our infrastructure isnt ment for EVs.
