Its barely a beta. This game works like 70% of the time. And the devs have no discipline at all, somebody messes with the live patch constantly, creating more bugs in real time. It's fun, but not complete in any way.
I got a 150 hours on my PS5 version and I’d vouch for it being a completely unique experience. It shouldn’t be compared to other games. The difference in patch scheduling, ideals, and what mechanics are valued within the game, make this thing a wholly batshit crazy experience. A live service with an ongoing story we affect? Information and leaks being treated in universe as propaganda? Oh and it’s not monetized to hell and a hand basket? I mean, like, there’s NOTHING like this game. Stop holding it to standards that don’t apply, we are in uncharted territory. Either we make the best of it, and support it, causing our preferred game developers to change up how they make games for the better, or we end right back up with triple A live service bullshit money scams. Helldivers 2 is more profound of a game than the last 100 games I’ve played in my lifetime. It is a flower, trying to bloom in a desert where there is no water. I’d recommend watering the flower.
My main takeaway form this video is that I want future game developers to look at what made up the good points of Helldivers 2 and implement it with new games going forward that capitalizes on those strengths/ and make them better: allowing players to encounter new enemies organically in a live service game, an evolving battlefield shaped by community actions, horde shooter mechanics that stresses teamwork, and allowing the DEATH mechanic being a net positive during a "revive" (smashing your hellpod into enemy's head!). Those are all stuff I want to see in a coop PvE games in the future
I know there is the whole issue with Sony at the moment (and is still on going) which did initially throw a wrench in this video. But I am solely focusing on just the game and only the game so that is why I did not bring up the situation in this video. What are your thoughts?
THIS GAME WILL SURVIVE ANYTHING BECAUSE IT WAS BUILT WITH LOVE,... the only reason it was down-voted was to protect the game and the gamers so that any and all can play it without restrictions and it created history and I hear they have a cape in the works to honor that event, that is living proof that the creators/developers love their craft and their creation and we love them for it,... no doubt the game will be available again for those who had it but then lost it due to routine cooperate politics from other companies like Xbox and EA,... unfortunately corporations function with the intelligence of "monkey see monkey do". That's why I love Sony because they are the unicorn in the Gaming Industry
@@DadsCigaretteRun everyone downvoted it on Steam, I play it on Playstation so how did you arrive at that conclusion if I haven't even reviewed it on any platform? 😏😆
Some tips from an expert play the campaigns, they'll teach you the basics. Also Take estates, build the defense buildings early and invest in an initial defense to hold off Npcs via the choke points, also after base food max out your iron production at iron is more valuable by an order of magnitude and you can sell iron to pay for buildings and troops. And super powers are fun!
Um you played as Evil. Evil is arguably the most challenging faction since you have very little means for gaining resources and the troops-whilst technically balanced when it comes to abilities and cost. There's not many ways to get honor other than feasting and statues-which barely give you any to begin with. I would have recommended starting with literally the other two factions since they are much more beginner friendly with more ways to get honor (ie the church, having bread as a food type, you have the vegetables which adds to honor). Those small changes make a BIG difference when gaining honor. Not to mention the additional happiness leading you to be able to tax your peasants more. Whilst Evil DOES theoretically excel in troop spam and relative power within those troops. They are difficult to get and can easily be killed if you know how to counter.
It's all you can do. I had a similar experience getting stuck on that brute corridor, then at the space elevator ruins, and twice in Cortana's flood corridors.
whats funny is that the starting katana for the Samurai class is one of the best weapons in the game, using its ash of war you can get carried to late game, i have used it underleveled to nearly beat the game. Anyway good job beating Darriwil, I love blood hounds fang, its ash of war is super fun, and once leveled up its amazing. Edit: The ash of war i am talking about for the Samurai class starting weapon the UCHIGATANA is Unsheathe, by far one of the best ashes of war.
FRFR i get that pain, I was hoping it would have been announced at the game awards, tho a official looking leak mentions something about a possible announcement February 2024@@donkst276
I got Lethal Company, haven't played it yet but from what I've seen the game is a masterpiece and it has perfected proximity chat which is such a difficult task to do and yet it was done by a single developer. Great Video man, even though it's a bit short, it's still great
