Bank to bank transfers here are done through an inter-bank alliance called OSKO, which each bank then brands their own. For instance, ANZ Bank calls their service "PayID", as do some others. All you need to use it is the recipient's phone number or email address, whichever they're used to set up their incoming tag. It works the same as Venmo, but probably faster and easier.
There is no law itself stating that you must wear appropriate footwear (ie no law forbidding driving with bare feet), but you can still get into trouble if you wear footwear that is not suitable to drive in.
Can you adopt me for a weekend in Melbourne? Love the music in this video - I feel so chill after watching the whole video - like I had a relaxing weekend!
When Australia went metric, my father had real trouble going from F to C for temperature. The guide I provided was Cold = 0 - 10, Cool = 10 - 20, Warm = 20 - 30, Hot = 30 - 40, Bloody Hot = >40.
Australia has a "like" tax because repeated improper use of the word is considered annoying noise pollution and a waste of oxygen. And things generally are, or, aren't. Affectaaaations are tolerrrrrated but not appreciaaaated.
it is easier to just work in 10's 10x10 etc: do not worry about what this is in primitive measurements, it doesn't matter. Any dummy can work in tens eh even the rest of the World/
To have lived in Australia for eight years and yet to become so Americanised, I wonder if your parents are Americans who were living here when you were born and went home when you were eight or if they were Australians who migrated to America. If it's the former, I can see how you forgot everything about Australia and lost your accent but if it's the latter, I fail to understand how that could happen. Which is it?
Depends on where you are within Melbourne. I've been told Melbourne is a horrible city but every single overseas visitor I've ever had has thought Melb was quite possibly the best city in the world. I was living in the inner North with local knowledge though. Don't get stuck in the suburban middle ring 10-30kms from the city.
Hot tip: Don't use boiling hot water with your matcha, totally ruins the overall taste and burns the tea. You'll lose all the great benefits too, try and use just hot water :)
Where you are walking by the river, I know that exact area very well as i live in Sunshine. Be very careful of tiger snakes there. I've seen plenty of them there, just a heads up to keep an eye out. Great channel by the way.
Australias and Americans speak the same language other than that our cultures are totally different we have a completely different ethos and ethics in Australia to America
Sorry it's been rough. I'm from Melbourne but I moved away when I graduated and never managed to move back. What I've noticed when I go back to visit is that I really feel like an outsider. Even though I know the culture very well, it's still tough for me to meet people there. So I would tell you not to feel bad about not finding your people quickly. It's just difficult, even though people in Melbourne are probably more open than people in a lot of other places. I'm moving from Utah to Belgium in a few months, so I'll probably be able to empathize with you a lot more then!
We had some Chinese high school students stay a few days at our house in Perth. They kept going outside during the night to look at the stars. Blu Tack is Satan. That stuff stains the walls. Don't use it.
Do yourself a favour and move to Brisbane. Consistent beautiful weather like California. Beautiful surf beaches on the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast. Reasonable public transport. Similar size to Melbourne. Melbourne climate sucks. Admit that culture is great in Melbourne but nothing else. Brisbane has culture too. Everyone is Melbourne and Victoria live to holiday in Gold and Sunshine Coast and Brisbane on their vacation. That’s all they talk about other than AFL is the next vacation to Queensland.
