What was the group like? Thinking of booking with G Adventures as a mid-20s female traveller and a bit worried it will only be couples or friends doing the trip together :))
@@anymoglijael this is such a great question! Our group was made up of 1 couple (us) then the rest were all solo travellers apart from 2 friends! G adventures is the best for going travelling solo as most other people are. We have done multiple g adventures trips and it is always a great mix! My friend did this G adventures Everest base camp trip after us and she was travelling alone in her 20s and made friends for life :)
@@anymoglijael if you watch our vlog or highlights video you’ll get an idea of the amazing people you meet! We all still keep in touch over a year later :)
Most important: do NOT hike up and down the same route through Tengboche! There is a much more impressive high trail on the opposite side of the valley going Namche - Mong La - Phortse - Pangpoche offering vastly better views, lots of wildlife and practially no other trekkers. Only come down via Tengboche. Makes no sense to walk the same trail twice when there is a better alternative. No time penalty either on the way up.
Hi, sorry if I missed this. Just wondered how you booked trains? Through a website? And how far in advance? I'm planning a trip for next January, finding your videos really helpful 😊
@@kirstywomack8132 hi Kirsty! This is so exciting- it is really important to book trains in advance to ensure first or second class seats. We booked them through 12GoAsia and they opened train seats approximately 5/6 months before our trip! So glad you’re finding these videos useful! For more India tips follow our insta: @explore_the_world_backpacking (we also have a blog going live in 1 week which will have a detailed India plan and itinerary uploaded) we will share the web address on the insta :)
Great video! I'm going with G Adventures in 7 days. Were they very strict on the weight requirement for the flight to Lukla? Is there the option to pay for a couple extra kilos, if so? Thanks!
Hi! There is a weight limit and they are strict on it for flight safety! Although none of us even got close to it and chances are someone else will underpack so if you’re slightly over it will even out :) have the best time!
Hello guys just found your videos and I love it ❤ I am going with g adventures to EBC next March. Was worried about the company but now I am a bit more confident. Just couple questions 😊 have you bought your visa before or after you arrived to Nepal? And also which insurance company have you used guys?
Have the best time on your trip!!! It was the best experience of our life! We got our visa on arrival but I know people who got it before hand by going to the Nepalese embassies in the UK! We just an insurer underwritten by AXA, it’s just super important to make sure you get insurance that covers altitude and trekking! Luckily G Adventures is one of the few companies that all insurance companies trust and include in their policy to take you up EBC ☺️
Have fun on the trek! We used G adventures because they are really safe and give everyone the best care they could wish for! Our blood oxygen levels were checked every night and tracked on a chart, then if anyone displayed signs of struggling and we’re checked more regularly. Someone in our group got more serious altitude sickness and they were immediately helicoptered to hospital in Kathmandu :) hope this helps! 100% take the altitude sickness tablets available from any Kathmandu pharmacy- we didn’t feel it at all because of this.
Nice Video beautiful scenery, just one suggestion you were panning around too quickly, makes one dizzy! The beginning explanation was so interesting showing the top down proto type simulation! Never saw that before like an airplane view!
I ever knew the selfishness of climbers leaving a mess behind. Lost all respect and think climbing should be banned . That’s just a disgusting ignorance to destroy a place with human waste. Imagine if everyone just trough trash out like climbers. Yeah Imagine!
It was so weird suddenly hearimg the guy talk perfect german 😅 anyway, thanks for the insight, im planning to do that trip in 2025. Need to build up my stamina first, and next year ill do a trial run in the alps
I didn’t know going to the base camp only was something you could do. What kind of costs is this? I seen that actually going to summit could be up to $50,000 or so. Just curious as I may have to put this on my bucket list some day as I would never survive summit 😂 and I don’t think I would ever want to attempt it.
Hello! The base camp trek is much more affordable than Everest itself- with the company we used (g-adventures) it’s around £900pp. That doesn’t include flights to Nepal but we tied it in with a trip to India! It’s the best experience of our life- I’d highly recommend it
I am going next week! This has made me excited but nervous, i hope we have the same banter as tou guys!! I read your suggestion with rhe altitude tablets. Did you need to carry the recommended 700$ for emergencies in cash or could you have it easily accessible by card? Great video! 😊❤
Oh wow!!! Have the best time- we also 100% recommend you do the Kala Pather trek the morning after base camp- it is worth it! Talk to your CEO when you arrive, after your meeting there is time to go back to the cash points (there is also ATMs in Lukla and Namche Bazar!) we only brought food money and had cards with emergency money available on a travel card- so you should be fine just doing card ☺️
After watching you're video it makes me realise that just going to Everest Base Camp is a hard trek itself and you were all young people. Sending Congratulations to you and all those who do this magnificent lifetime ❤ experience ❤❤

What a great trip. Very entertaining video to watch. Amazing bunch of friends. A trip to remember forever. Well done. I like how you videoed your return trip a lot Don't do the return leg on video. How long did your editing take, could not Imagine the amount of footage to dig through.
The return trip was just as incredible as the trip there! I just slowly began editing a couple of hours on the evening on and off it probably took me a week that way!!l but if you sad focussed and did it you could Probably do it in 4/5 hours ☺️
I am coming in April with G Adventures so looking forward to it .Just a question what money should I allow for meals and tipping guides. A added bonus is April 24th i will be 68 all being well that day is Base Camp Day!
I hope you have the best birthday! How cool getting to celebrate at base camp! To save money we bought loads of snacks and chocolate from Kathmandu (because it is super expensive up the mountain and snacks are essential 😂) but we took around $300-350 each for food (it’s better to take more just incase) and around $60 for tips but they do a breakdown of recommended tips on the G adventures website! As well as tipping the porters on the last night we bought their tea and drinks so it’s nice to take some extra money for that, but there are cash points at Lukla and Namche bazar incase you run out. Also the optional Kala Pather trek is a MUST! No matter how tired you are it’s so worth it. Have the best time! 😊
@@andreweast9325 not a problem! Anything else let us know ☺️ we would 100% recommend altitude tablets- we got ours from a pharmacy in Kathmandu for 100rupees per pack. They helped us SO much with altitude we didn’t feel it at all.
Watching this has made me so excited and nervous at the same time for my EBC trek in 3 weeks with G adventures. I think im actually under prepared for how cold it’s going to be. 😖
That is SO exciting! Have the best time, hopefully it’s going to be warmer when you are there as it’s now fully into spring season. Top things to pack: LOTS of snacks from Kathmandu because they are EXPENSIVE on the mountain and snacks are a must on a tough day Baby wipes (for baby wipe showers) Power pack Water tablets and altitude tablets (these are a must) Comfy clothes/ socks for the evenings Just have the best best time ❤️❤️
