I’ve purchased exact same shower enclosure and while installing ran into a problem. Holes in the pivot bars and holes in shower panels don’t line up. They’re off by about 5/16” per side. Panels installed as per drawing and given instructions. Now I’m stuck with the half assembled inclosure. Contacted customer service trying to resolve the issue.

Awesome instruction video, save us few hundred bucks to hire a handyman. I've successfully installed it from this video without reading the manual, pictures worth a thousand words. Dreamline should fire all the tech manual writers and keep these folks around for video instructions only, it's a different time now ... everything digitals. - Price is mid point for a luxurious finish - The design of the hardware on glasses positions are excellent, hard to make mistake. I only have to worry about which side is the door. - The drag .... When hanging the door by bottom wheels first per instruction, I had trouble pushing the door up to engage both top wheels. What I did was removing the bottom wheels, hang the door only from the top wheels first then carefully sliding in the bottom wheels and screw them up, it was a piece of cake (for my case).

Very good videos - thanks for producing them. They are clearer than, and contain valuable information not contained in, the installation instructions included with the doors. This was very helpful to me.
Install went sort of okay, thankful for the video to help, but there's room for improvement on both video & printed instructions. There were a few bloopers in instructions- one said to refer to a certain page for details and it was the wrong page, and a part referred to in instructions had a typo and referred to wrong part. Install steps that didn't make sense: caulking under the frame then continuing to work and it's getting slid around ruining that bead and smearing it around. I saw that my silicone bead underneath was getting smeared around, probably rendering it useless and making exposed messes so I stopped and let it cure a while. I hate cleaning up smeared silicone so I wish I'd have set the frame in along my carefully marked pencil marks, secured the wall screws, then walked away and not touched it again for a while. Would have kept a better seal underneath and not made a mess to clean up. The door was a pain to hang, after putting bottom rollers in and lifting up on door we still couldn't get top rollers in without a big wrestling match. Later I realized we could have hung the top first then used the buttons on bottom rollers and put those in second. The door seems a bit noisy while gliding and it says to adjust set screws in top rollers to fix that, but nowhere does it explain what turning those screws does?? Does it raise and lower the door at that end? Does it increase friction?? I've played with turning the screws with the door hung but can't quite tell what it's doing. Lastly, it's time to caulk around the interior of the frame- the walls won't be a problem but with the door in place I have a good 6-7" area on the bottom that I can't get to- sliding the door left or right doesn't expose that overlap area. Trying to caulk under the door to get to the inside bottom edge of the frame with a nice bead won't be easy so I'm probably going to end up removing the door. I might as well have caulked the inside edge before putting the door on, let it cure, then put the door on just 1 time! For the price I thought the rollers would be higher quality- smoother, quieter and more heavy duty but this isn't a shower that's used daily so hopefully they will last.
Hello, we recommend that you contact our Customer Support Team for better guidance on how to make adjustments and to ensure that your shower door was installed correctly. The Customer Support Team can be reached at 866-731-2244 or support@dreamline.com. Our hours of operation are 9am-6pm EST, Monday through Friday. To answer your question regarding the roller screws, they are supposed to be used if the door doesn't line up and seal nicely against the seal inside the wall jamb. These screws are for minor adjustments to even out the the way the door closes against the seal - to make it "tilt" one way or the other or to make it perfectly level - whichever is needed to make the seal consistent.

Hello, we apologize for any confusion but the vinyl is supposed to be installed inside the U-channel. This will protect the bottom edge of the stationary glass from any sort of direct contact with the metal U-channel when the panel is installed. The roll of vinyl stripping should be cut into 2 inch pieces and you should place those little 2 inch strips inside the U-channel along the bottom so that the glass panel will rest on top of the vinyl strips instead of sitting directly on top of the metal U-channel. The placement of these vinyl strips is shown in the video around 9:49. Should you have any further questions, please contact our customer support team at 866-731-2244 or support@dreamline.com for assistance. Our hours of operation are 9am-6pm EST, Monday through Friday. I know this one is a 76 in height but will it look ok installed on a base and wall that is 72 in anyone’s opinion? My walls don’t go all the way to the top because I have drywall. Thanks in advance
Unfortunately, the Essence shower door can not be installed on walls that are only 72" in height, the walls must be at least 76" for proper installation. The brackets that hold the rails are higher than 72", so it would be impossible to install this door in an opening where the walls are only 72" tall. For further assistance, please contact our customer service team at 866-731-2244 or support@dreamline.com. Our hours of operation are 9am-6pm EST, Monday through Friday. Thank you.
When I originally received my shower enclosure in April 2023 the packaging was heavily damaged, but all parts survived unscathed, somehow! I am just now ready to install, and have been watching this very good video, and I'm sure it will go smoothly. The only confusion/problem was that upon unpacking the sealed small parts boxes, there were 2 extra sets of wheels, two extra handles of some sort, and extra miscellaneous hardware packages!! All the parts I NEED are present and accounted for, so we're good to go!

@@jamescarney7550Hi James, thank you for reaching out to DreamLine. DreamLine only provides shower door dimension specifications for finished openings (tile-to-tile), and we cannot offer any suggestions or guidance on the rough-in dimensions for your framing. We strongly recommend that your contractor reviews the finished dimensions we provide in the technical drawings for the model size you wish to purchase so they can frame the opening and use finishing materials (drywall, thin-set, tile, etc.) to achieve the required finished dimensions for the door. Even if your contractor assures you that they can build the finished opening to fit the door, we still strongly recommend that you have them build the opening and completely finish it first before you place your order for the shower door so you can carefully measure the finished space (tile-to-tile) and confirm with certainty that the model size you selected will fit the finished space.
The instruction manual for this product has the same contradiction. On page 18 (p.21 of pdf) it says "It is required to allow the silicone to fully cure in the U-channels before installing the door glass". On page 23 (p.26 of pdf) it says "It is strongly recommended that the 5/8" shims be left beneath the door glass until the silicone securing the hinge panel glass has fully cured". images.thdstatic.com/catalog/pdfImages/64/6441405c-fc6d-4fc6-980b-8482631d2c6e.pdf
We apologize for any confusion with the instructions in the installation manual. For best results, it is actually going to be beneficial to take both of these instructions into account. Installing the stationary hinge panel and allowing the silicone to fully cure for several days before installing the shower door will definitely provide the best results. If you are unable to schedule a second day of installation with your contractor to come back and finish the installation of the door glass several days later after the silicone has fully cured, then you would want to consider the second instruction which would be to install the stationary hinge panel, then install the door with the 5/8" shims under the door, then make sure to leave the shims under the door glass for several days while the silicone holding the stationary hinge panel fully cures. In either situation, it is extremely important to not allow the weight of the door glass to pull on the stationary hinge panel until after the silicone holding the stationary hinge panel has fully cured because if you release the weight of the door too soon (before the silicone fully cures), the door glass will pull the stationary glass out of the channel and you will need to begin this entire part of the installation procedure all over from the beginning. This would likely mean you would need to purchase new U-channel hardware, re-cut the new u-channels, re-fasten them to the walls, re-glaze the panel with silicone, wait another several days for the new silicone to cure, etc. Please note that silicone curing times will vary depending on external factors such as the environment within your home (air flow, humidity, etc.), brand of silicone, quantity of silicone used for the install, etc.
Perfect answer, thanks very much! I had thought perhaps the other method was preferred because the door weight is held by the 5/8" shims instead of the hinges. I'm grateful you provided a physical/mechanical explanation so I can do it right the first time! @@DreamLineShowers

The instructions seem to have a contradiction between 7:28 and 9:55. At 9:55 it says to not operate the door for at least 30 minutes, allowing the silicone in the u-channels to set up. There is no u-channel on the door portion so it must be referring to the u-channel on the hinged class. However, if you listen to 7:28 that silicone has already set. Which is correct? Do we let the silicone setup and then install the door, or do we install the door and then let the silicone setup? Thanks

Do you see the contradiction I'm talking about? I think you could just ask the guy who made the video which way he wanted it to go, and then post it here as a correction. I think it is nice that you listen to youtube comments, but uniformly your only reply is to tell people to call your hotline. It is not helpful. What if, instead of doing that, you just call the number yourself (or ask the engineer at the desk next to you) and post the answer here-- that would be helpful. If you're some kind of social media consultant who doesn't actually have anything to do with the company then probably better off just not commenting... @@DreamLineShowers

Overall this door is very nice and affordable compared to glass companies. I would suggest .. avoid using the garbage screws for mounting the hinges that come with the kit... I purchased a higher grade stainless screw.
This isn't an easy door to install by any stretch. The video does help....some, but don't get it confused. There is certainly a reason they are showing you this tutorial. I renovate homes, and do a great, but this door took a little more time than expected. Few issues here and there, but I won't complain. I got the door in good. Question...the height of my shower is 75". If I purchase a door with a height measurement of 72". Is it talking about about the height of the glass from bottom to top or is it talking about the distance between the bottom frame and the top of the "top" frame?? I just want to make sure that I get these measurements right. I would like the top frame to be flush with the top of the shower if that makes any sense. 🤔
Hello! Thank you for reaching out. The dimensions we provide are the full installed height of the unit. The 72" height measurement includes glass and hardware after installation. If your shower is 75", you would have 3" of wall above the shower. For assistance, please contact our DreamLine Customer Support team at 866-731-2244. Outstanding! Definitely helps to clarify the written instructions. My one and only gripe about the install is hanging the door. We tried several times to set the bottom wheels in the track and then lift up the door to drop the upper wheels into the top track. We ended up setting the top wheels in place and then used the plunger on the bottom wheels to get them into the track.
